"Mee tula bulov toh ahe tuu yet ahe ka…" A slow chant escaped my mouth. I was reading the old document I found inside the orphanage's storage room. It was written in English but I could not make any meaning out of the gibberish, I would do anything to escape cleaning this storage room and listening to my mother forcing me to do it.
I looked around it was a mess but slightly less messier than when I had entered the room, who does it belong to anyways, my father and mother would never need an oil lamp, or an old marble locket, or… well the list was endless. It was as if the orphanage's storage room was like doraemon's pocket, unlimited things could be stuffed in it.
I don't know why but my orphanage caretaker suddenly knocked on my door and shouted at me that I was not completing my summer vacation homework, well, it was in progress… since last year's summer vaction. However, I was just not able to get to the climax, even though I swear I was trying my best and not procrastinating it and playing my video games.
"Are re tu yeet ahe ki nahi…" I kept on chanting and slowly I noticed that the room had become a little brighter but dismissing the thought, I continued to read the lines as I thought of tomorrow the last day before my summer vacation started. My painful day will end and joyous vacation will start.
It was really getting brighter, I stopped and looked around it was brighter every second. I rubbed my eyes and looked around again; the background was still getting whiter! "I must be dreaming!"
White light soon engulfed the room, completely.
"His name shall be Eldridge, Eldridge Carmichael," an old man announced, he looked seventy but hundred and twenty. He is the High Priest of Mervin, one of the well-known priests. He had also once served the previous king.
'Ah… Eldridge but my name is – Eldridge! Huh! Why did I say Eldridge instead of – Eldridge! – Eldridge! Why can't I say my name and where am I and why am I so small!" The recently named two-year-old was shouting inside his head.
Eldridge, as would be appropriate to call him, was in a state of internal chaos, he got up and stood on his tiny legs then looked around at his surroundings. He was below a tree, on an seemingly endless plain of grass, he was with a couple – of a man in his thirties and of a woman in her late twenties – behind him and a completely over-aged oldy ahead of him.
The couple was shocked, so much that their eyes could come out of their sockets because of how much had they been opened. On the contrary, the oldy was calm just an eyebrow slightly raised that went down soon enough. He was unfazed that a two-year-old had just got up and started running around and scrutinizing every single thing in his sight – this shocked the couple even the more.
It was an absurd sight yet amusing sight, a teenager stuck inside the body of a small child, a couple about to die of shock and an over-aged oldy who was looking towards the sun as if it was going sprout out of the sky into his hand.
