Chapter 6 - The Harmony Pavilion Part One

After "honestly" acquiring one thousand silvers Wu Shuyu pulled Qin Ming with her to the best doctor in the entire capital besides the doctors that serve the emperor. At least that was what her memories told her. She was also hoping she would have some money left after seeing the doctor so that Qin Ming and her could get some new clothes. Their current clothes were really old and barley even fit them. Luckily Wu Shuyu did not have any meat buns or she would be popping out of her robes. What a world she was reborn into. Just because someone had no spirit power they were treated no different than an insect! Her family gave her nothing and she was forced to wear clothes that barely fit her. Even poor Qin Ming was having trouble keeping her meat buns in check. Although they were not big they were still pushing the tight shirt that she had no other choice but to wear. But after today that will all change and Wu Shuyu will make sure to teach this General Wu manor who they are dealing with! And get what was rightfully hers from this good for nothing family.

It took almost fifteen minutes to reach their destination. This place was called the Harmony Pavillion. For some reason, Wu Shuyu felt this name was somewhat lackluster. But she really can't fault anyone on their lack of naming sense. Anyway, before she even got to the door she could already smell the strong smell of herbs floating out into the air from within. The smell was actually quite soothing. Since it reminded Wu Shuyu of her studies of when she was in college learning Traditional Chinese Medicine.

As they walked through the door Wu Shuyu was surprised to be greeted in a friendly manner. "Young Miss how may I help you today."

"Hi, Umm... I need to have a doctor look at me and tell me what kind of poison I am poison with and maybe some way of curing it..." Wu Shuyu really did not know how to explain it. But as soon as the words exited my mouth Qin Ming burst into tears which scared the hell out of Wu Shuyu and not just her but everyone around her as well!

"Young Miss those bastards actually poisoned you!? How can they be so evil! You did nothing but suffer under their torture since the day madam died. Suffering beating after beating and being forced to eat scraps from the kitchen that were obviously bad. Sometimes we got nothing at all! Now they even went as far as to poison you! Wu-Wu!" Yeah, Qin Ming seemed to have decided to let out all her grievances in a crowded here in the pavilion. Wu Shuyu forgot she had not mentioned this to Qin Ming before and felt slightly bad. She pulled Qin Ming into a hug to try to comfort her.

The clerk who was shocked by Qing Ming's sudden outburst quickly recomposed himself. "Ahem… Miss can I have your name so I can register you."

"Huh? Oh! Yeah, it's Wu Shuyu of General Wu's manor." After Wu Shuyu finished her words she realized she had just unintentionally slapped the face of the entire General Wu's manner in one sentence. SheI could tell by the side comments she was getting from the peanut gallery.

"Isn't Wu Shuyu the First Young Miss of the General's Manor? She looks like she has not eaten in years!"

"Who would have thought the people in the General's Manor would treat the first daughter in such a way!"

It dawned on Wu Shuyu as listened to all the people around and it was not something she actually thought about until now was, if she was the first young miss then why was she younger than her Second and Third sister…? Wu Shuyu turned to the sobbing Qin Ming and asked: "Ming'er if Second and Third Sister are older than me why am I the first young miss?"

"That's because you were added to the family register first. Master Wu would not allow any of the concubines to have their children added to the family register until the madam had a child. Which was you. Which makes you the First Young Miss." Qin Ming said through her sobbing.

"EEEhhh!!!!!! It works like that!?" This was all new news to Wu Shuyu. She thought she would be like the eight young miss or something. Now she knew that that father of hers seemed to be some kind of baby producing machine. From her memories, she knew she had nine sisters and five brothers. But she never knew when or if another one will pop out of nowhere and worst yet each and every one of them were assholes! Not even a good one among the bunch! You would think one of them would take sympathy on their poor dear sister but no! They treated the old Wu Shuyu like a piece of trash that got stuck to their shoe! Well, they will all get there just deserts soon.

"First Young Miss Wu the doctor will see you now." The clerk was still as polite as always when he came to notify Wu Shuyu. It seemed even though Wu Shuyu was a piece of trash the clerk still treated her with respect.

Giving the clerk a polite bow Wu Shuyu said: "Thank you please lead the way."

The clerk took Wu Shuyu and Qin Ming to the back of the pavilion. The smell of herbs was very strong the further they went in. They finally stopped at a wooden door where the clerk knocked saying: "Master, First Young Miss Wu is here."

"Un… Enter." The door opened to reveal an old man with white hair and a long white beard. His gaze fell on to Wu Shuyu and she instantly felt like she was being seen right through. Before Wu Shuyu could say anything he smiled and said: "Your maid can wait outside."

Qin Ming grabbed Wu Shuyu's hand and looked at her worriedly. Wu Shuyu smiled and patted her hand saying: "It's fine Ming'er just wait outside the door." Wu Shuyu had to get the poison in her body cured or she would not be able to survive in this world. She just hoped this old man was not some kind of pervert. Otherwise, her poor innocent purity might be taken!

When the door closed the old man looked at Wu Shuyu then smiled, saying: "Relax I got no interest in little girls. Plus I'm too old for stuff like that anyways!"

"How did you know what I was thinking!?" Wu Shuyu was shocked was this old guy an esper!?

The old man laughed as he said: "I don't need to read the thoughts of someone who says it all out loud."

Wu Shuyu slapped her head as she let out a sigh of relief: 'I spoke my inner thoughts out loud. Thank the heavens! I thought he was an esper.'
