Chapter 46 - Distracted and Parents' House

I sucked in a deep breath. His distinct damp earthy smell and a new scent of strong fabric detergent filled my lungs. Along with it was a strangely familiar hint of flowery sweetness, distracting me. Following it, I sniffed and protruded my nose until I recognized it—my shampoo.

It was coming from him. I was sure of it. This guy. Unbelievable. Fighting the smile, I opened my mouth but instead of words, a gasp came out.

Kawashita's cold hands snaked under my shirt. He whispered, "You're distracted."

"I am." I wrapped my arms around his neck, giving him a coy smile. "You surprise and confuse me."

"Why?" he asked as he dipped his head.

Hot breath blew into my ears. I shuddered. Goosebumps crawled from my right arm down to my wrist.

"Now, you're distracting me," I gasped out.

"Then it means it's working." His voice was husky but the amusement was clear as day.

I laughed a little. "You're unbelievable. We're in your parents' house, and you're so eager."

He lifted his head and met my eyes, his lips curled. "You know your effect on me, and we're all alone here. My parents are not even around."

"But still." I bit my lips.

"This is technically part of the inn. The family house is at the far back." Kawashita wiggled his eyebrows. "We can go one round."

"You're one horny boy," I said, raised my head a little, and pressed a kiss on his cheek. "Your sister-in-law…"

I trailed off when I noticed a scowl forming. He opened his mouth, closed it, and opened it until his expression turned cloudy. "I just…I'm not…"

I could have sworn I saw a tinge of his defenses being peeled off, or maybe I had been reading too much into it. But then his expression became stormy next. I was going to ask when my stomach growled.

"Right, Mayuki-neesan, food." His face cleared as he nodded. "I'll go and check on it. We will continue this later."

With that, he cupped my face, leaned in and pressed his lips into mine. It was all warm soft goodness. I melted and relaxed into the kiss until he broke it, leaving me wishing we were really alone. I didn't want the kiss to end. I didn't want him to get off me when he did.

"I'll be right back, Reiko-senpai." Kawashita stood and smoothed his clothes before he left.

Groaning, flipping on my stomach, I buried my face into my hands. It was getting hard to resist him, and the line of our relationship was blurring. I was glad I was here, but that was the thing. Maybe I shouldn't be.

A soft rasp interrupted my thoughts. I looked up, and the door opened. Kawashita was standing in the doorway with a scheming grin. Uh-oh. What now?

"By the way, Reiko-senpai," he said. "Make sure to call me Akira, okay?"
