Soldier, Poet, King

"There will come a soldier who carries a mighty sword. He will tear your city down, o lei o lai o lord."

Riley was a pretty good kid. She kept her head down. She stayed out of trouble, and, when necessary, sparred with deadly accuracy.
She rarely spoke to anyone outside of the Director and, on rare and unfortunate occasions, the Counselor.
On this particular morning, the only thing Riley was worried about when she was called to the Director's office, was if she would make it to the mess hall in time for food. Though thinking about it, she was almost certain the triplets, Idaho, Iowa and Ohio, would save her something to eat if she didn't turn up in time.
It was in times like these that Riley truly did appreciate the effort the triplets had made with her.
When she finally arrived at the door to the Director's office, Riley was surprised to see she wasn't the only one awaiting an audience with the Director.
"Maine," Riley nodded to the bulky man, "Finally do something to piss off the boss?"
Maine, silent as ever, simply shook his head, helmet hiding whatever expression he had made.
The young woman shrugged her shoulders in response to the man and turned her gaze towards the ceiling.
"Let Grumpy butt know I'm here, F.I.L.S.S."
"Of course, Agent Colorado; and may I say your hair is looking beautiful today."
Riley's shoulders relaxed as she smiled at the A.I.'s compliment and ran her fingers through her aforementioned hair. She had cut her brown hair that morning, feeling as though she needed a change. Thankfully, this time she hadn't taken her need a step further and dyed her hair.
The Director wasn't amused last time she walked into his office with bright pink hair.
(It should be noted, Riley was very insistent on calling the colour 'light-ish red'.)
"The Director is ready to see you both now." F.I.L.S.S.'s voice startled the young woman out of her thoughts.
Shaking her head, Riley clenched and unclenched her fists before nodding towards Maine and strolling into the room.
'I hope I didn't piss him off again.'
