"Your items will be put on sale during this afternoon's auction, since you are a partner of the auction house starting today, you will get granted entry to the VIP lounges and a 5% price reduction on anything you buy here."
Madam Eloise said as she handed Henry a bronze colored card, this was his identity as a partner of the auction house and it could be upgraded after reaching definite milestones of contribution. Since the Auction house took a 10% commission for any item that they put on sale, as long as Henry sold his items there they would be able to make profit at that was why they gave him some benefits.
"Thanks."
Henry said and left after bidding farewell to madam Eloise, he was planning to sell a lot of items in the future so this card would definitely be helpful to him, after all a gold card gave you a lot more benefits than the bronze one that he was given.
If he wanted to maximize his benefits in the future he would need to upgrade his card and today's sale was exactly the first step towards that.
Henry left the courtyard and walked back inside the building towards the VIP lounge, when he was about to go upstairs to reach them, a young man dressed in a black suit blocked his path.
"Sir, this place is reserved to high ranking officials and VIPs, I can't let you go through."
The man who seemingly worked there looked at Henry's clothes from top to bottom and blocked him without showing even an ounce of respect.
Henry looked at his clothes and although they were clean and fit him well, it was obviously cheap clothes.
"Move."
Since the man didn't show any respect, of course Henry didn't either. He pulled out the bronze card and pushed it to the man's face, the man took a step back and slightly bowed to Henry, he still didn't show much respect but it wasn't that important to Henry.
'Humph. What are you showing off a bronze card for ? I can also have one of these if I try.'
The man looked at Henry's back with some jealousy, he had worked here for 10 years already but he didn't have a bronze card while this country bumpkin had one !

Henry walked up the stairs and didn't mind the guy behind him anymore, however he understood that he would be looked down upon if he kept dressing like when he was poor and it would be annoying so he decided to buy some nice clothes on the way back home.
He walked into a long balcony that had a few tens of seats from which half were taken, he looked over the fence and there were already a few hundred people sitting and chatting while waiting for the auction to begin, since there was one normal auction a day, it wasn't very crowded.
The real auctions were always on the first Monday of each new month, that's when the best items would be kept for and on that day there would be at least 20 000 people. During that day the bronze and silver cards owners wouldn't be able to go to the VIP lounges and only gold card owners and higher would be allowed there together with the real VIPs such as presidents, kings, princes and such people.
Henry took a random seat and started browsing today's auction's catalogue, there wasn't any rare item but it was to be expected, rare items would be kept by the auction house until the first Monday of the month were they could maximize the benefits. After awhile Henry saw both his items, they were listed together with their starting price but there wasn't any more information about them.
The metamorphic armor would have a starting price of 80 000$ while the explosive whip would start at 55 000$, after meddling a little in the items business in his free time Henry guessed that the armor would go for 450 000$ and the whip for a 100 000$ or so which meant that if his guesses were right, he would be able to almost finish the system's quest today !
After a short wait a young man walked on stage and announced the beginning of the auction, he wore a splendid suit and looked extremely refined, around him was a noble aura that was impossible to get if you hadn't grown in the right environment.
He showed a friendly smile to the crowd while his assistants brought him the items on stage, that's how that day's bidding war started.
"The first item today is a 80 years old wine from Oramo, this wine is as rare as a diamond and could be considered one of the bests in the world ! The starting price is 60 000$."
Henry wasn't interested in such stuff so he ignored them and didn't bid at all for the first few rounds, after awhile though an item that interested him appeared.
"Today's 7th item is the core of an eagle type demonic beast, it was killed barely 4 days ago and it is still as full of energy as a new one ! The starting price is 100 000$ !"
Henry was a bit late compared to people his age, the most talented had already evolved using demonic beasts' cores, that was a huge advantage for them ! If Henry was to fight one of them now he would lose for sure, they had better speed, strength, reflexes, etc... but the most important detail was that they had extended their lifespan, that was a dream of Henry.
Today Henry was almost certain that Rose had already been evolved the day they fought, he tried to find a reason to her abnormal strength for the last weeks and the only solution he could think of was that she was evolved, which meant that he had won by pure luck.
Thinking about that, Henry decided to bid for the demonic beast's core. The system's quest was simply to earn 590 000$, even if he used them right after winning them he would still get the reward from the quest.
"105 000$ !"
