Chapter 6 - Workshop

Henry was sitting in class, lately except training with his dagger and looking for a cheap forge to rent he had been going to school everyday.

During the biology class their homeroom teacher suddenly went inside, whispered to the biology teacher and was given the class's attention.

"Hi kids, I'm just passing to tell you all that school is organizing a trip to planet Reso in four days on tuesday. For those who are still underage please get your parents signature on this paper."

Without saying anymore she left, Henry felt like he had heard about planet Reso before but couldn't remember when. He didn't think about it anymore and focused on his class, today they were talking about the changes that occurred in the human body when they ate Demonic beast's cores.

Most kids from rich families had already broken though their limits at his age but he was still a normal human because of money. A low grade core was valued around 500 000$ ! Of course Henry had never had such a huge sum but it was only a question of time now, he was confident that he could get such a sum very easily now.

Today after school Henry didn't head home but went towards the industrial part of the city, by looking on the Uninet he had found a local that was used as a forge for rent and it was exactly what he needed, if the equipment needed to forge was left there then he could start his business right away.

After turns and turns he arrived in an inconspicuously alley where he was sure nobody who didn't have business here would come. Except artisan's premises there was nothing here, no shops, no houses, no apartments, nothing at all.

Henry arrived in front of a closed garage door, he looked up there was nothing above and next to him were same type of doors wide open to let in fresh air with people working inside, his right neighbor was a wood artisan and his left one was a jeweler, he tried guessing.

He knocked on the door for a long time and after a long minute when Henry was about to leave the garage door was opened and a pretty girl who looked very sleepy looked at Henry annoyingly.

"I'm trying to sleep why are you knocking so hard?!"

"Uhmm..."

Before answering he checked if he was at the right address and as expected he didn't make a mistake, he was a the right address.

"Excuse me to bother you while you're sleeping, I came here for the rental offer you posted on the Market."

The girl's eyes suddenly became as wide as saucers

"You want to rent this brok... place ?"

She extended her hand to shake his and said

"My name is Lala, I'm the owner of this place. The rent is 300$ a month and you can use the things inside as you want ! If you want to move them I can also help you."

She looked very eager to close the deal and so was Henry so he shook her hand and let her guide him inside, he had heard this was an old forge so if the things inside could still be used then he couldn't be luckier.

As expected there was everything he needed to forge his stuff inside, the place was also in a relatively good shape. The walls and the ceiling were fissured but he didn't care, after making money he won't need to rent and will just own his own forge.

"You don't stay in this place right ?"

Since he found her sleeping here he had been curious about it, he wouldn't rent the place if she was always here after all he needed his secrecy so he asked hoping that she would say no.

"I did, if you rent this place I'll go back home. I come here only to get a bit of silence and tranquility."

"I see, if I rent the place can I start using it tonight ?"

"Sure, I don't mind."

When he heard that he pulled 300$ dollars he had readied early and gave her, she smiled wide, picked up her bag and left after giving the keys of the place to him.

He opened the shop and pressed the Dark bone dagger, this time instead of buying a full made item he bought the blueprint.

He felt something new being injected into his brain as if someone had filled a syringe with knowledge and pressed it into his brain. After a few seconds he was back to normal, what surprised him was that when he looked at the forging equipment in front of him he knew how to use it ! He was first expecting to have to learn step by step using the blueprint as a reference but he had the feeling that he could make a perfect item with the new knowledge added to his mind !

He looked around and except the hammers that were in a bad state everything else was still usable, he decided to go out and get new ones and at the same time started checking on the system's shop for the required materials.

'So the total for the materials will cost me 13$. This way of doing it is definitely more worth, I can have ten daggers for the price of one.'

Noah thought while having dinner in a fast food, he didn't plan to go back home tonight so he decided to eat something before focusing on forging, since it was Friday he didn't have to sleep tonight at all and could focus on what he wanted to do !

After an hour he was back to his new workshop with everything he needed, he was about to buy the materials for making a dagger when he heard the system's voice that had been quite silent during the last few days.

Make 10 Dark Bone Daggers.

No time limit.

Reward :

1000$

Blacksmith experience : +50.>

'Finally a quest! The reward is so good, 10 daggers will cost me only 130$ to make, with this money I'll get back the money for the materials, this month's rent and even the price of the hammers ! On top of that with 50 experience points I will be halfway through the level 0.'

He bought the materials needed for the ten daggers in one time and put them all on table then he lighted the furnace's fire and waited for it to reach ideal temperature. Finally after a few minutes he used the thermostat to maintain it to the ideal point and started melting the main ingredient : the Ink turtle's bone. Although it was a bone it felt just like an ore on touch, it was cold and smooth just like iron.

After a long time he pulled the bone out of the furnace and put it on anvil, he took the biggest hammer to start giving it a rough shape and swung down the hammer.

CLING!!

He looked at the hammer and realized he had omitted something, although his mind knew what to do his body had never hammered iron ! The hammer had slipped and made a dent into the bone.

'Am I stupid ? What's the point of knowing the steps of my body can't do it !'

He rolled his eyes at himself but at the same time he felt happy. He didn't want the forging process to be too simplified by the system !

That night Henry used that piece of wasted bone that was already useless to start his training, around 3 in the morning the piece of bone was already flattered and he couldn't feel his arms anymore, after hammering for half an hour he swapped between his hands so not only his dominant arm was trained but both of them. Around that time he was hit by a wave of tiredness and fell asleep on the couch near the door.
