Liam's POV
Alyssa Wilson grabbed my arm again, just after letting me go for the second time.
"Alyssa, I'll be fine," I let out a laugh to reassure her. "I may have forgotten the way around the school, but I still do know how to survive."
Alyssa let go and nodded a little more than needed. "Okay. Then, you want a tour?"
What's with this girl?
This time, it was a genuine laugh I gave. "No, I don't need a second tour."
Looking down, she bit her lips.
"I'll be just fine," I tried to catch an eye contact from her. But she was still looking at the ground as I said so.
I scratched the back of my neck. What should I say to make her chill a bit?
"If I need anything, I'll go to your class and search for you."
Alyssa grinned. "Good idea!"
With one last look at me, she turned her heels and walked away. "Catch you later, Liam."
Oh... that actually does the trick.
I watched her go. Noticing that she had a different uniform than the other female students. Instead of the usual turquoise pinafore over a white shirt, she was wearing a white shirt with maroon skirt, complete with a maroon necktie with the school badge pinned onto it.
"Liam? Dudeee! Is that you? Wearing a necktie?"
I turned to see a rather buff guy with a lot of piercings. Conscious of what he said earlier, I looked at my necktie. What about it? This is how it supposed to be... Right? Even though this guy was not wearing his.
A wavy haired, small-figured guy with freckles joined us. "Ashton, why the hell are you being so loud in the middle of the morning? I thought Liam has always been wearing his necktie before."
Ashton shrugged. "But he had always been wearing them loosely, at least."
"What are y'all doing standing around here? Let's get in," another guy came approaching us at the classroom's doorway.
Silently, I followed them inside the classroom.
I never thought of this far ahead, I have no idea how to tell anyone about my memory loss.
"Where have you been?" The small-figured guy asked first.
Where should I even start? Should I just tell them that I have lost my memory? Would they even believe me?
"How dumb can you be, Enrique?" the third guy hissed at the small-figured guy. "didn't you pay attention at all?"
Enrique and Ashton turned to each other in alarm.
"It's okay, Liam. You don't need to explain. I'm Julian, by the way," said the third guy again.
So I don't need explaining after all?
"Only these two dumbasses would not know your story."
When I looked around the classroom, everyone was practically observing my every move. Most of them stopped after I did so, though.
"It's odd though," a voice spoke from behind me. "aren't your parents stopping you from coming to school?"
"I'm Calvin, by the way," he added.
Enrique nudged Ashton on the ribs and the both of them held out their hands, at the same time, for me to shake.
"I'm Enrique."
"I'm Ashton."
I shook hands with them before another guy joined in. He has a pale face, smooth skin, shiny hair, and everything that hints him as a rich person.
With his presence, instantly, the atmosphere changed and everyone else started talking excitedly about something like an event they went together.
"Yea boii! Last night's was the best one yet!"
"Damn, it's getting harder and harder to stay sober."
"Throwing one again next week! Who's down?"
I can't tell the right time to interrupt.
I stayed quite until the five of them fell silent.
Ashton was the first one to spoke again. Still smiling, he gestured to me. "Come on, Steven. Introduce yourself."
The rich guy blinked. "Why do I need to?"
Uncomfortably, Ashton whispered something still heard-able in Steven's ear. "He lost his memories... Remember?"
Steven gave a loud, proud, snort. "Liam remember us."
I felt so bad for not reaching his expectation. Because I don't. I don't remember anything about them at all. Everyone was so new to me.
Julian rubbed his temples. "Not again... You didn't pay attention too? Mr Martin clearly announced what happened to Liam yesterday."
Steven went red in the face. Either in anger or in shame. "That can't be."
"Bro, I think you're just confused. You've been throwing parties a lot lately," Ashton tried to place the back of his hand on Steven's forehead but Steven smacked it away, inches before it even landed.
"That can't be," Steven glared at me. "you guys haven't even ask him anything. You guy didn't give him a chance to speak yet."
I was mentally slapping myself. Why can't I just speak up? Why can't I form any words to say?
"Steven," Enrique called, his voice sounded soft and encouraging. He even placed his hand on Steven's shoulder.
It took forever for me to realise that the gentleness Enrique showed towards Steven was just a facade. "You sounded like a girl. A weak, delicate, maiden in love, who refuses to accept the tragic reality happening to her beloved one sided crush."
Even when Enrique said that, the touch of sweetness did not disappear from his voice. The aura changed, however. It seemed cold.
Steven glared at Enrique, looking like he was about to punch him in the stomach. But instead, he turned away and stalked towards the classroom door, clenching his jaws all the way.
Then, a familiar face appeared in the doorway.
Steven bumped right into her, causing her to drop her pen.
She eyed on Steven with emotionless eyes. It disappointed me a bit. Her green eyes were always seemed full of life before this very moment.
She bent down to pick up her pen. Yet, Steven stepped on it. He snatched the tiny notebook, the only thing that was left in her hand, and throw it out of the window.
That seemed like the final blow. Not only for Alyssa. But also for me.
Something inside of me just snapped, seeing Alyssa's green eyes welling up with tears. She kept her emotionless face still by pursing her lips. Her fists were clenched at either sides.
Before I could even stop myself, I stormed towards Steven and gripped him by the collar. "What the fuck are you doing?"
The laughter, coming from the other four, which I have just noticed at the last second, died down. They acted so quickly. In order for Steven and I to not start eating each other up, they pulled the both of us away from each other.
"Yo, you better calm down," Ashton pointed a threatening finger, yet an understanding look at me.
My breathing was kind of heavy. But my heart soften when my eyes wandered off to Alyssa.
She looked at me, flabbergasted. Though she was no longer looking sad, her face was in full pink. Is she angry?
I opened my mouth to call after her. She quickly turned to walk away before I got the chance to speak.
The incident left quite the impact on the whole class. Murmurs can be heard on every corner. Great. But at least no one dared to talk to me after that. Except for Ashton, who naturally asked me for my eraser for about five times during classes.
I got no mood to speak anyway, after witnessing Alyssa's crying face.
I didn't even bother wondering on why they bullied her.
"Sorry bro, but can you go ahead first this time?" Enrique muttered to me when break started.
So it has been concluded. They are definitely my group of friends. They seemed like a pain in the ass.
I went out and left the five of them in the classroom. I should grab something to eat. But I want to find her first.
I looked at every direction as I was making my way towards her classroom. If she had left, we would bound to bump into each other, somewhere in this corridor.
