Karla Kuznetsov's POV
I was looking at my date for the night as he was driving his car to the restaurant that I was meeting Emilio before. I was trying not to stare at him but it was hard to do so when Scott McBaran was one handsome hunk.
"You know, if you keep staring at me like that, I will have to stop this car and kiss you, Kiska," Scott said before I was blinking my eyes and I was clearing my throat before I turned to look outside the car. Scott chuckled.
"Okay, so here we are," he said as he parked the car in the parking lot that was empty now. It was almost midnight and we were the only ones there. With my car next to Scott's car.
"So, here we are," I said before I was turning to look at Scott. He was staring at me before I blushed. I never had anyone looked at me like that before. I was clearing my throat before I smiled and tucked my hair behind my ears.
"Okay, this is it then," I said before Scott was nodding at me. I was about to leave the car before he asked me something.
"Can I have your phone number?" He asked me as I turned to look at him as my hand froze on the door handle.
"For what?" I asked him as I know that he would not be interested me as any man would. But I wanted him to be interested in me right now. And maybe develop a relationship out of it.
But of course, it was only a dream of mine that will be unfulfilled.
"So that I can call you later and maybe we can have another date?" Scott asked as I was looking at him. He cleared his throat before I smiled at him.
"Sure, give me your phone," I said before Scott took out his phone and I was putting my contact inside his phone. Then, I called my cell before it was ringing and I was hanging up the call.
"Now that we have each other's phone, I will be waiting, Mr. McBaran," I said as I was batting my eyelashes at Scott. He smirked before he took his phone from my arm and pulled me closer. I gasped before I was staring into his garnet eyes.
"And I am sure I will be waiting for that call every single day of my life then," he said as I was staring into his eyes before I smirked.
"We shall see,"
"We shall," he replied before releasing my hand as I was turning the handle and get out of his car. He was getting out of his car as well before he walked me over to my car.
"You don't have to do this," I said as I was unlocking the car and Scott opened the driver's seat. He smiled at me before helping me to get inside the car.
"But I wanted to,"
" Aren't you a charmer?" I said as I was turning the ignition on and Scott was leaning against my car. He smirked.
"Well, I was trying to. Is it working?" He asked before I turned to look at him with my hooded eyes. I never did this with anyone but with Scott, it felt…different.
"What do you think?" I asked him before he leaned closer and kissed my lips. I was closing my eyes and before I can truly enjoy the kiss, it was ended.
"Drive safe, Kiska," he whispered huskily before I was smiling at him.
"And you as well. I hope you're not drunk or anything," I said before Scott chuckled.
"Well, I was but not on alcohol, it would seem," he said before he was staring at me. I gulped before Scott was leaning away and closed the door. He was patting the hood of my car before I shifted the gear into D and I was turning to look at him for one last time.
I think I can move on from Alan now.
I smiled and waved at him before I was going off from the parking lot as I saw his figure diminished in the rearview mirror.
Scott McBaran's POV
I sighed happily as I was trying to remember when was the last time that I felt like this. The feeling of wanting to give my best and everything for one person.
And that one person was Karla.
But this Karina is not Karla and I was not the same person from a year ago as well. I am older and wiser now. And I have a mission to do. To find the missing Karla Kuznetsov and all that shit that comes with it. I sighed before my phone was ringing.
I took out my phone before I was frowning at the ID. Why does he have to call me every time like I was a kid? I slid the green button before I was clearing my throat.
"Hey, Scotty," Edmond said as I was pinching my nose bridge right now. I don't know why he was calling but I know it was not good.
"Hey, Lattone, what do you want? I thought you were don't want to be disturbed now that you're newlyweds. What, you quarrel already?" I asked before Edmond laughed. I swear I will kill him for slipping that information about my involvement one year ago with a woman.
Damn, I have to erase his memory as well.
"Well, I wanted to make sure that you are comfortable in the new place," he said before I was rolling my eyes at his statement.
"I have been living in Italy for a year now. Why would I'm not comfortable? I have everything that I ever wanted," I said before I was making my way to my car. I opened the door before I slid inside the driver's seat and I was locking the car beforehand. You will never know when the freaks will come out at night. Edmond chuckled before I swore under my breaths.
"Okay, I will tell you now. It seems that you are not in the playful mood," he said as I was rolling my eyes.
"You bet I am not,"
"Okay, so Conall has asked Addington to ask you to find his missing sister in law. Who was it? Karin, Kara—"
"It's Karla. KAR-LA. It's not that hard to say it," I said before Edmond was snapping his finger at me on the phone.
"Yes, that's the one. Anyway, I know that you were involved with her emotionally—"
"No, I was not,"
"Whatever you say, I know the truth. So I got this new information that she was a ballet dancer in Rome. And I thought that I would give you additional information without anything in return. I just hope that the wedding bells will be ringing later this month," he said as I was shaking my head with Edmond's dramatic.
I think since he got married, he was being much more dramatic than usual.
"Okay, thank you for the information then. Do you know where she might be performing?" I asked before Edmond chuckled.
"Now, now. Would it be fun if I gave all the puzzle to you? No, I bet it will make this whole chasing dull. So I was hoping that you will be getting that information yourself. Besides, you're good at it as well," Edmond said before I sighed.
"Fine, whatever,"
"Oh, and one more thing," he said as I was shifting the gear into D before I was out of the parking lot and driving to Giovanni's hotel right now. I'm sure Karina was inside her room now. I don't want to surprise her that I was living in the same building as her.
"What is it?" I asked Edmond as he chuckled.
"She might have changed her look and her identity. You know how these agents from KGB. They are so hard to be tracked down," he said as I was stepping on the break so suddenly. Thank the Lord there was no car behind me or I might have caused an accident.
"What did you say?" I asked Edmond before he was chuckling.
"Lattone," I warned him before he laughed.
"Well, that was a shocker. I just found out as well when Conall said that his wife and her sister were in the KGB but that was long ago. I wonder if the other sister was turning back to her old ways," he said as I was rubbing my face.
"And you think it is vital for me to know this now? You know how long I have been searching for her even without when Addington asked me to?" I asked before Edmond chuckled.
"Yes, and that's why it is the most precious information that I withheld before you came to your senses and Addington's playing his matchmaking. So, I am giving you a chance with her right now," Edmond as I growled.
"I swear I will skin you alive this upcoming ball," I said before Edmond laughed.
"Can't wait to see that happen. You know my wife is a thief right?" He asked before I smirked.
"And you know I can hack right?"
"Whatever, McBaran. Just get your girl already and then we talk, okay?" Edmond said before I hung up on him as I don't want to hear his annoying voice any longer. I have another mission to do.
And that was to find the secret identity of my long lost love.
