Chapter 85 - Portion 19: The Reunion

Arianna Contos' POV

I smiled at Julian as I can see that Lucas was narrowing his eyes at me. I cannot seem to forget that he was here and he was staring right back at me without my mask on.

God, I hoped that he will not be angry with me. I prayed as I was walking to Julian who was staring right back at me with the intensity that I don't want to acknowledge now.

"Adonia, my love. You look stunning," Julian said as I was trying to not gag when he called me his love. I was smiling at him before I was regarding Lucas.

"And who's this? I don't know that you have someone follow you today," I said as I was trying to control my giddiness that I was looking at Lucas right now.

"Ah, I have to introduce you to my new guard. He defeated my old guard, what a useless man. Now, he was the strongest man in Attica. I want you to meet my guard, love, his name is…" Julian said before he furrowed his eyebrows and turned to look at Lucas.

"Sorry, I don't get your name yet," he said as Lucas was smiling at him.

"Adonis, my prince," Lucas said before I was rolling my eyes and Lucas was staring at me after that.

"Adonis? That's odd. You don't even look like him," Julian said as he was looking at Lucas. I must say I would agree with him right away. Then, Lucas smiled at us.

"Well, I don't know. My mother put that name for me as she thinks that I would be a lady's man when I grew up," Lucas said as he was looking intensely at me.

"But it seems that I attract the wrong kind of woman, unfortunately," he said as I cringed at his understatement.

Which said that I was the wrong kind to be associated with.

"I see. Well, this is Princess Adonia of Attica, my fiancée. You will be guarding her as well if I was not around and only when I asked you to. Do you understand, Adonis?" Julian said as he was regarding Lucas now. He clenched his jaws before he bowed to the prince.

"Of course, my prince," he said as I was looking at his submissive state. If I don't know any better, Lucas was submitting to Julian but if I read between the fine lines, he was supposed to be the strongest man in Attica.

Which I know can be a little overwhelming. Maybe Lucas has another plan or something.

I stiffened my back as Julian was putting his hand on my lower back and I was smiling up to Julian. He urged me to get out of the chamber and we were walking in the long hallway.

"Where are we going?" I asked Julian as he was smiling at me. I was looking at the statues that adorned the walls and spaces. It was telling about the Greek myths. I think Jenny would love this place.

"Now, we're going to the dining hall. My mother, the queen, will be happy to meet her future daughter in law as well as we're going to have dinner together as a family now," Julian said before I was smiling. I heard Lucas scoffed behind us.

"Here we are!" Julian said as we were walking inside the huge hall as two people were sitting at the long table. We were walking toward them before Julian was introducing me to his mother.

"Mother, I would like you to meet my fiancée, Adonia. My love, this is my mother," Julian said as I was bowing my head toward her. The queen of Attica stood up before she was coming at me. I don't know what she wanted to do but it all made sense after she was hugging me like I was her daughter.

"Oh, I have been waiting the day that my son will introduce me to his fiancée and I am glad to meet you," she said before her silver eyes were looking at me. Now, I know that this woman was giving her eyes to her son.

"Yes, I am excited to meet you, your highness," I said formally before she was waving her hands dismissively.

"Oh, don't be so formal. We're family now. You will be my daughter soon,"

"Daughter in law, love," the king said as the queen was regarding the king. She was sticking her tongue at him. He chuckled at his wife's behavior that made me wondered how they first met. The hardheaded king and the playful queen.

"Now, let's get you settled," the queen said as Julian was pulling out the chair for me to sit next to him as he was on the right hand of the king. I smiled at him before he was narrowing his eyes at me. The queen took his hand before he sighed and the servants were putting the dishes on the table for us to eat.

I was looking at the queen before the king was looking behind us. I think he saw someone new among us.

"Julian, who's that?" The king asked before Julian was sipping on his wine.

"That my new guard,"

"Your new guard?"

"Yes, apparently, Adonis defeated Julius in that matter. I have to take the strongest man in Attica to be my bodyguard so I hired him right away,"

"Adonis, I thought he would be blond," the queen said as the king was regarding Lucas that was quiet behind us at the wall.

"And he is not," the king added before we were eating in silence again. I was looking at the food before I was sipping on the wine. I don't think I would have any appetite to eat anymore.

"Why are you not eating? You are too skinny. People will not believe that you are my fiancée when I failed to feed you," Julian said as I was nodding at him. I don't think that I would swoon over him but I did anyway. I was smiling before I was hearing some scoffs behind me and I know for a fact it was Lucas'.

After dinner, Julian escorted me back to the chamber that I will be sitting for the rest of my evening. Not that I planned to do that but I will give the impression that I would. I was turning to look at Julian as he was putting his hands behind his back.

I was smiling despite anything that has happened for the rest of the day, starting with the moment that Julian pulled me out of the cave.

"Thank you for your hospitality," I said as I was looking at Julian, Lucas was narrowing his eyes at me.

"My pleasure, princess. It will be an honor to marry you later this week," he said as I was blinking at him.

"What do you mean later this week?" I asked as I was trying to get more information about it. And I know that Lucas was happy to know that we will be hearing it right now.

"Well, it seems that it slipped my mind when I tell you we will be married in 3 days. I know it's early but I know that I have to marry you as soon as I can. I am afraid that you might not actually like me and just go with the flow that I was setting," Julian said as I was smiling at him. I was looking briefly at Lucas as he was shaking his head slightly at me.

"That would be wonderful. Thank you for telling me. Now, I know that I will have to be prepared for the wedding," I said as I was trying to hide my nervousness as I know that I have to get out of here ASAP.

Julian beamed at me before he was pulling me into the kiss that he has been wanting to give since the dinner. I was allowing him while I know that Lucas must be looking at us but I don't give a shit.

He did say that I was the wrong kind for him.

I was releasing his neck before Julian was smiling at me. I think he knows that I was putting a little effort into the kiss than the kiss that we shared before. Julian smiled before he stepped away from me.

"Have a good night, Princess Adonia," Julian said as I was nodding at him.

"And to you as well, Prince Julian," I replied as I was bowing at him.

"See you tomorrow then?"

"You bet I will wait,"
