Katrina Kuznetsov's POV
I have safely landed in this period. It was lush and green and meadows were stretch in front of me. I looked around me. No building, no buses, nothing of the modern era.
"Am I in the prehistoric time again?" I asked as I stood up and looked across the meadow. I don't what to expect. Maybe Conall and his wit and his charming smile waiting for me. I don't know what to expect as I was searching for something. I went down toward a path as I looked at the trail that was spread in front of me.
"Why not, maybe I found something?" I said as I tucked the emerald securely inside my back, unaware of the eyes that might be looking at me from afar.
Conall Reid's POV
I might have to ask Katrina to imagine that we were landing on the bed. Maybe that might soften the landing. After we have traveled from Reid's Estate, it might be time for me to sit down with her and talked about our future. Only that did not happen. And I was not in the present time. I have been pulled inside a wormhole that put me back further away in time.
"ah! Ah! Ah!" I shouted before I landed on the meadow with tall grasses.
"Well, I did stick the landing," I said as I was looking around the place.
"Katrina?" I asked as I was looking around me.
"Katrina?" I shouted a little higher than before as I looked around. There was no one to be found around me. I don't know where was I and what I have been gone to. Am I even in Scotland?
"Damn it," I said as I looked at my phone. There was no signal and nothing at all. I don't know if I have anyone around that I can ask where was i. Suddenly there was a carriage that was not far from here. I ran toward them, shouting and screaming at them.
"excuse me? Excuse me?!" I shouted as I was running against them. The driver looked at me before he was shocked to see me there. He pulled the rope off the horses to make the carriage stopped.
"My word! What are you wearing son?" The old man asked as he looked at me before he got off from his carriage.
"I'm sorry but do you know where we are?" I asked as I was heaving my breaths. I don't think I ever run that far even when I was in the gym.
"You talk like us but you don't even know where we are, boy-o?" He said as the old man took off his hat.
"Sorry, must have lost in translation," I said as I was looking at the carriage.
"where were you going?" I asked as I was hoping to hitch a ride.
"Edinburgh but it will be more than a few days," he said as he patted on his horses.
"We might need to stop for a rest tonight," he said as he looked at me.
"Can I come with you? I don't know how I got here and I don't even know where I am. if it possible for you to carry me, that is," I said as I was trying to be polite at him. I don't want him to ward me off in the middle of nowhere.
"are you sure you're not bandits? Cause I tell you what lad, I know how to fight," he said as he pointed at me. I laughed as I told him.
"believe me, I don't even know any martial arts," I said as I was getting on the carriage and sat beside him. We were on the move.
As we were drawing closer and closer to the inn for the night. I don't even have any money for me to stay inside the inn. The old man was kind enough for me to stay with him. He took the bed as I don't want to make him feel uncomfortable and I will be sleeping on the floor.
"Are you sure you don't want to have another mattress? We can provide it for you if you like," the owner said as I waved my hand at him.
"it's okay, kind sir. I'm sure there plenty of other people that might need it," I said as I went to sleep. The next morning we went on with our journey after having breakfast at the inn and I helped out with the dishes for a while.
"you're very kind sir, thank you," the owner's wife said as her daughter was eyeing me from the cooking area.
"Yeah, glad to be of help. so, thank you. I need to go now," I said as I was trying to get to help the old man to tie his horses to the carriage and went on with our journey.
Katrina Kuznetsov's POV
Okay fine, I gave up. I don't know where I was and what I have gone to. I don't even know if it was the right place to be or was I at the original place that I have been yesterday.
last night I have been so lucky to be sleeping in the cave that I found around here and the lake that provided me for my drinking. It was crystal clear water and after that, I went on to catch a fish for my dinner and my breakfast tomorrow. I have to be on alert as I was in the open but nothing strange happened last night. Thank god for that!
I was walking down the road when I can feel that my legs were about to give up when I saw something in the bushes. I don't know what was going on until I know some people have been lurking in the shadows right now.
"I know you were there. Just come out already," I said as I was looking around, waiting for them to show up. then, there was a group of people that did not bath for the last month or any day at all.
"I want what you carry with you," the leader, a man with no teeth, was smiling at me as the others were just laughing.
"Come and get it if you can," I said as I looked around the room. I don't know if I could ever beat them but I have to try. I did not sleep well and I have been exhausting the entire day that I don't know if I can keep up with their strange capabilities to defeat me.
"Well, what are you waiting for?" I said before one of the bandits was looking behind me and he was turning white.
"hey! Get away from her," a familiar voice was coming out from the distant. I heard like a bullet or a fire from a gun that made them running scared and they were running into the woods without trying to take something from me.
"give me that," suddenly a man was grabbing my bag when I kicked him in the groin and he was stumbled to the ground before he went inside the wood.
"Ma'am, are you okay?" I asked the older gentleman that was looking at me for wounds that I might have. I was more interested in the younger person that was standing behind him. He was smirking at me as I was looking surprised at him.
"I think she might need to come with us, sir," he said as he was looking at the old man. He turned around to look at the gentleman. I mouthed at him as I don't want to go with them.
"I don't know, it might be a good idea," the old man said as he looked at me. I smiled at him before I humbly spoke to him.
"I don't need any assistance. I can manage myself," I said as I was trying to make sure that he wouldn't win, this time. He has no idea what I have gone through.
"yes, I think Edinburgh was just around the corner if you want to go there. I might have to take a turn over there as I was going to Glasgow, my home town," the old man said as he was smiling.
"your hometown?" I asked as I was curious to know about this man.
"yes, it's where my wife has been buried. I was going to visit her. You know, true love only came once," he said as he looked at me and Conall and he saw something that he knew about us that we did not even tell him.
"very well, if you say so, good sir, I may have to accompany this madam and make sure that she was safe again in her family," the young man said as I was looking at him, more like glaring at him when I know that he was loving this role play. oh, two can play at this game, sunshine!
"yes, of course. I saw something like this will eventually happen," the old and said as he went on his carriage with the help of the young man. How lovely.
"well, I better get going if I want to make it in time," he said as he looked at Conall.
"thank you, kind sir. Sorry, I never knew your name," the young man said as he looked at him. Wrinkles formed at the corner of his eyes.
"well, you already know it, in here," he said as he touched the young man's heart. He gasped before he blinked a few times. I looked at them before something strange happened. The old man disappeared. I blinked a few times before I was trying to grasp what just happened.
"well, that's strange," he said as he turned to look at me. His charming smirk that I wanted to slap it off his face. His tousled brown hair that I missed to run my fingers in it, his emerald orbs and his height that made me want to climb on top of him.
"Miss me?" He said as he drew me closer. I cannot think or even breathe right now as I was captivated to look at him.
"Say you missed me because I know that I missed you," he whispered before he closed on the gap between us before he gently claimed my lips. I responded to his kisses as I know I missed him too.
