We went out and met with all the relatives. Jenn's dad was there. I didn't have any fucking idea how am I gonna talk to him. After our argument over that voice note, I didn't meet this man. I didn't talk to him. Jenn sent the invitation to them. Now it was so awkward. I went near to them.
"Hello Mom, how are you?" I greeted her mom first. "Hi Eric. We are good dear." she said and looked at her husband. He didn't respond. "Good morning Uncle". I struggled to form this sentence and speak. He turned towards me and stared for few minutes. "Good morning Eric" finally he replied. "Sorry Uncle. I am really sorry for everything. I was so mad that I reacted like that" I said and looked at him. He didn't respond for good 2 minutes. He was simple staring at me.
"It's okay Eric." he replied. Jenn went to wake Aileen up and get her freshen up. I should have gone to wake Aileen up. So it would not be a problem of standing here with her parents. It was so awkward. We never had this situation if meeting parents and keep them entertained. After sometime Jenn came with Aileen. I picked Aileen up and stood beside Jenn.
"Hi Dad, mom. How are you guys doing?" she asked and hugged both. "We are doing good Jenn. How are you?" her dad asked. "I am great dad" she responded and hugged my waist. I loved this gesture. I felt like she was telling her parents that I was the reason for her being great. I hugged her with one hand as I held Aileen in other. I kissed her on her forehead and cheeks. She looked up at my eyes and smiled.
"Thank you Eric. Thanks for today" she said and smiled brightly. Jenn's mom took Aileen from me. After giving Aileen, I held Jenn tightly and hugged her. "I will do anything to see this smile babe. Just smile for me, I will make everything perfect for you" he said and kissed me on my lips. It was a quick peck.
Aileen clapped and shouted, "hyyyy, we will get one more baby brother".
Her mom turned towards us and glared at us. She gave Aileen to me and pulled her daughter out of my embrace and dragged her out of that place. "Daddy, when will we have another baby?" she asked innocently. "Soon baby girl. Very soon." I told her. Jenn's dad was glancing at us for the entire time. I didn't react at all. I didn't want anyother problem with her dad now. I stayed quiet.
"Thank you so much Eric" he blurted. "For?" I asked. "For whatever you have done for my daughter. I don't know whether I would have done these things for her. She is genuinely happy." he said and smiled. I was blank for a moment. I regained my composure and replied back up him, "I just want her to be happy always. I am trying to do what makes her happy. It's not a big deal." I told him and smiled.
"You gave your daughter to me, even when I was so messed up." I told him. "You took her Eric." he replied. "Yeah I know. But I can't help. I fallen for her at the first time I saw her in your office in her uniform." I said and smiled. He raised his brows. Now I had to explain again. "It is a love at first sight for both of us. That's why I spent all my time to decide each and everything for her from the New York till this company." I said and smiled again.
