Chapter 102 - United in Crisis

The sun hung low on the horizon as Jiang Han strode into the Aegis Sentinel Corps headquarters, its glass façade glinting in the amber light. The mood was tense, with personnel moving briskly between offices and conference rooms. Although Jiang Han had seen the divisions working in harmony before, the urgency of the current crisis was palpable.

Lieutenant Colonel Razif Syahmi and Major Wan Harith greeted him in the main conference room, their faces reflecting the gravity of the situation.

"Colonel Yusof briefed me," Jiang Han began, his tone steady but commanding. "What's our status?"

Razif gestured to the large digital screen displaying a map. "We've received credible intelligence about a coordinated attempt to disrupt your family's logistics operations. The enemy has been observed near three key sites, and their movements suggest they're probing for weaknesses."

"Who provided the intel?" Jiang Han asked.

"Sergeant Marcus Tan's Counter-Surveillance Unit," Razif replied. "They intercepted encrypted communications pointing to multiple infiltration attempts. Our Cybersecurity Unit has been working round the clock to decode the messages."

At that moment, Dr Imran Rahman, leader of the Cybersecurity Unit, entered the room with his assistant leader, Sophia Liew. Imran's typically calm demeanour was replaced with urgency.

"We've managed to decrypt part of the communication," Imran announced, setting a flash drive on the table. "The attackers are well-funded and organised. They're using advanced tactics to mask their operations, but we've identified two of their objectives—gaining access to sensitive logistics routes and compromising your warehouse security systems."

Sophia added, "We've also detected attempts to exploit your digital infrastructure. If they succeed, they'll have access to not only operational data but also the personal information of your clients and staff."

Jiang Han's mind raced as he processed the implications. "This isn't just about logistics. They're escalating their attacks to undermine the entire foundation of our operations."

"Exactly," Major Wan Harith affirmed. "It's a strategic move, designed to cripple us economically and compromise your reputation."

Colonel Yusof entered the room, exuding authority. "We've assembled all division leaders and their assistants. This is a situation that requires full collaboration."

Moments later, the room filled with familiar faces:

Major Azlan and Captain Faizal Malik from the Training Division.

Captain Nizam Salleh and Lieutenant Danny Yong of the Security Guard Division.

Dr Imran Rahman and Sophia Liew from Cybersecurity.

Sergeant Marcus Tan and Corporal Nik Suraya from Counter-Surveillance.

Jiang Han addressed the group. "Ladies and gentlemen, this is a critical moment for the Aegis Sentinel Corps. We've faced challenges before, but this is on another level. The enemy's coordination suggests they're testing our resilience. We must respond decisively."

Razif took the lead in outlining the plan. "The BodyGuard Division will secure key personnel, including Mr Jiang and his family, while the Security Guard Division ensures the safety of the logistics sites. Counter-surveillance will track enemy movements, and Cybersecurity will fortify our systems. Meanwhile, the Training Division will serve as our operational hub, monitoring and adapting strategies as the situation evolves."

Within hours, the plan was in motion. At the main logistics warehouse, Captain Nizam Salleh directed his team to reinforce security protocols. His assistant, Lieutenant Danny Yong, coordinated patrols and ensured every access point was monitored.

"This site is critical," Nizam explained to his team. "If they breach here, it'll be a domino effect. Stay alert and report any anomalies immediately."

Meanwhile, Marcus Tan and his Counter-Surveillance team were stationed at a remote command post, monitoring enemy communications.

"We've pinpointed their last known location," Marcus informed Sophia Liew over a secure channel. "Can you verify their attempts to access our network?"

Sophia's fingers flew across her keyboard. "Working on it. Their methods are sophisticated, but they're leaving breadcrumbs. I'll have a trace within the hour."

Back at headquarters, Major Azlan and Captain Faizal Malik oversaw the Training Division's operational support. They analysed real-time data from the field, providing strategic adjustments to maximise efficiency.

"BodyGuard Division needs additional support at Site B," Azlan noted, marking the location on the digital map.

Faizal relayed the update to Razif. "Understood. We're deploying reinforcements now."

At Site B, the BodyGuard Division encountered unexpected resistance. A group of intruders, armed and determined, attempted to breach the perimeter.

Razif led the team, his calm demeanour unshaken even as the situation escalated. "Form a defensive line. Non-lethal measures first, but be prepared to engage if necessary."

Wan Harith coordinated with the Counter-Surveillance Unit. "Marcus, we need eyes on their reinforcements. Are they expecting backup?"

Marcus's voice crackled over the radio. "Confirmed. A secondary team is moving in from the east. Estimated arrival in ten minutes."

"Understood," Wan Harith replied, issuing orders to intercept the reinforcements.

The ensuing confrontation was swift and decisive. The intruders were neutralised without significant casualties, and their equipment was confiscated for analysis.

As the crisis subsided, Jiang Han gathered the division leaders to debrief. "This was a test, and we passed," he stated. "But we can't let our guard down. The enemy is probing for weaknesses, and we must remain vigilant."

Colonel Yusof added, "Today's success is a testament to the strength of our divisions. But we must refine our coordination and prepare for more complex threats."

Jiang Han nodded. "Agreed. I want a full report on today's operation, including areas for improvement. Let's ensure we're even stronger for whatever comes next."

The room buzzed with determination as the leaders dispersed, each committed to fortifying their respective divisions.

As the tension from the recent crisis began to settle, Jiang Han remained in the conference room, reviewing the initial reports from the division leaders. The operation was a success, but the level of sophistication exhibited by their adversaries suggested this was just the beginning.

Colonel Yusof entered the room, his sharp eyes scanning the detailed maps and documents scattered across the table. "You handled the coordination well, Mr Jiang," he said. "But it's clear these enemies are not ordinary opportunists. Their methods are too precise, and their objectives too calculated."

Jiang Han nodded, his expression firm. "We've managed to counter their moves today, but that won't be enough next time. We need to focus on predictive measures—staying ahead of their plans rather than simply reacting."

"Agreed," Yusof replied. "I'll begin preparations to strengthen inter-division training. The smoother our collaboration, the faster we can neutralise threats."

As the reports trickled in, a few gaps became evident. The Security Guard Division, while diligent, required additional resources to monitor multiple sites simultaneously. Meanwhile, the Cybersecurity Unit identified vulnerabilities in their defensive systems that needed urgent patching.

Sophia Liew brought the matter to Jiang Han's attention. "We need to upgrade our infrastructure," she explained, her tone clipped but professional. "The systems we have are effective, but not impenetrable. If they escalate their cyber tactics, we'll struggle to keep up."

Jiang Han considered her words carefully. "Prepare a proposal outlining the upgrades and resources you'll need," he instructed. "I'll ensure the funding is approved."

The aftermath of the crisis spurred a renewed sense of purpose among the divisions. Major Azlan initiated drills designed to improve the response time of the Security Guard Division, while Razif and Wan Harith began refining close-quarter combat protocols for the BodyGuard Division.

"Every second counts," Razif emphasised during a training session. "In situations like these, hesitation can cost lives."

Azlan, observing from the sidelines, added, "And preparation ensures there's no room for hesitation. Drill until your responses are automatic."

Back at headquarters, Jiang Han convened a strategy meeting with Colonel Yusof and the division leaders. "We must approach this as a learning opportunity," he said. "Analyse every aspect of today's operation, identify weaknesses, and address them. The enemies we face are relentless—we must be even more so."

Yusof nodded. "I'll oversee the inter-division exercises personally. We'll sharpen every edge of this organisation."

As the meeting concluded, Jiang Han stood by the window, gazing at the bustling city below. The weight of responsibility pressed heavily on his shoulders, but it was tempered by the unwavering loyalty and dedication of his team.

"This is just the beginning," he murmured to himself. "Let them come—we'll be ready."
