"Why me though?" Suna asked once Haruna again for the umpteenth time as they walked down the hall. "I have my job as school nurse to take care of. I cant chaperone you and this slu.....Juda Aburriah."
The three of them were walking down the hallway of the school building after having taken the elevator downwards to the first floor. Haruna and Suna were helping along a still almost naked Juda and it was pretty slow going which gave Suna plenty of time to ask questions. However the main question she kept coming back to was why it had to be her but Haruna always seemed to dodge the question completely.
"I already have someone filling in for you," Haruna replied simply as she stopped by a door on the side of the hall, forcing Juda and Suna to stop as well. "Enough questions for now. We have other matters to attend to first."
Juda, who was feeling marginally better, almost immediately understood. "The crest right? You wanna see if I have enough magic power to be qualified." He had actually forgotten about it up until a few minutes ago and had only remembered when they had passed by a noble who had his crest on left side of his neck, a large green flame that actually seemed to move.
"Due to various circumstances, your magic power isn't the one in question anymore." Haruna opened the door and lead them inside, closing the door behind them and locking it. "The real question is what kind of symbol you'll recieve."
The room the three of them had entered was about the size of a regular room and completely bare except for a desk pushed up against the wall next to the door. Located on the floor of the room, seemingly etched into it, was a strange symbol made up of circles and triangles that took up the whole floor. The symbol gave Juda a weird feeling that he couldn't quite put into words. It was like it was calling out to him, urging him towards the center of the symbol and without hesitation, he followed it, moving his arm off of Suna and walking towards the center with shaky steps.
Suna looked like she wanted to say something but she ended up closing her mouth as Haruna picked up a small knife from the desk and walked over to Juda who was now standing in the center. Haruna put a hand on the wobbly youths shoulder and pushed him down until he was sitting on his ass, obviously going with brute force instead of being polite.
Juda was beginning to get a bit irritated at Haruna's inability to fully explain things when suddenly she stepped forward with a knife in hand. He didn't know what was going on but he assumed that since Suna wasn't saying anything or asking questions about what she was doing then this was all part of the procedure to get a crest. He assumed correctly when Haruna lifted up his hand with one of hers and slid the knife roughly across his finger. However, thats when things began to go wrong as the way she sliced it along with the way she was holding his hand, she managed to knick her own self in turn.
Three drops of blood fell down from the two hands, one from Haruna and two from Juda, and landed onto the floor. There was a moment of silence before the room lit up in a bright flash of light that blinded Juda completely before it finally died back down.
"It appears I made a mistake," Haruna said as she walked back towards the desk without even glancing back at Juda. "A lapse in focus you could say. The circle wont work if you have the blood from two people, at least that's what I've been told. We can only perform the ceremony once every ten minutes so we'll have to wait as it recharges its-"
Haruna was stopped when Suna grabbed her by the arm and pointed towards Juda who was beginning to writhe in pain, his back beginning to glow. "I think its working."
Haruna turned around and walked back over to Juda with a blank look. Juda hadn't moved from his spot in the center even when he felt the pain which made it rather easy for Haruna and Suna to see what was going on.
Slowly but surely, flames flared up on Juda's back, flames that were both bright blue and bright gold spreading outwards in a rather strange pattern. The flames, after spreading themselves out to cover Juda's whole back, began to condense itself, slowly travelling back the way they came until they had formed the shape. Little by little, the flames began to peter out until it there was nothing left except a large gold-blue symbol that took up the entire half of Juda's upper back.
Suna began to make her way forward as Juda, who had up until now been in immense agony, finally managed to catch his breath as he sat there covered in sweat. Haruna knelt down behind him as she took a good long look at the symbol on Juda with her bright gold eyes.
The symbol was intricate and exquisitely detailed which alone was pretty unique, but it also contained not only two distinct colors but four other colors surrounding it in a circle. Red, Green, Brown and dark blue all swirled together and surrounding what appeared to be a dragon with nine heads. The dragon was a mix of the brightest gold and the brightest blue and all of it's heads, 5 blue and 4 gold, were squirming around and nipping at each other. It was not only a rare moving crest but it was crest that Haruna had never even seen before.
"What the hell is that?" Suna asked as she knelt beside Haruna. "Is that a dragon? Why does it have nine heads? Its kinda cool, and its so colorful."
"I've never seen this symbol before not have a I seen so much color or detail in a symbol." Haruna stood up and shook her head. "However I've only been here for around six months so I dont know enough. I'll have to look into it later. For now though, lets cover it up and refrain from showing others just in case others start asking questions."
Opening a drawer on a desk, Haruna pulled out what had to be the most convenient shirt ever. The shirt wasn't anything special, just a solid black color, but it was the fact that when Juda went to put it on, it was the perfect size for him, reaching just below his waist. This alone was what he considered to be the greatest thing that had happened to him today as everything else had literally backfired on him or just made him lose brain cells.
"Alright, unusual crest aside we're gonna head to the girls dorm where I'll show you the place we'll all be staying in." Haruna unlocked the door and opened it, turning back to gesture for them to go first. "Lets pick up the pace please."
"Wait, we're bringing a BOY to the GIRL dorms?" Suna asked with a bit of disbelief. "Not only that but a mere slu...a guy who we don't know much about!!?? Whats your reasoning for bringing him there?"
"Well, it'd be unwise to move into the male dorms with so many male nobles who'd try to take advantage of you," Haruna said as she closed the door when they walked through. "I myself would have no problem traversing the male dorms as all the guys avoid me and so do the girls. However, you're not me so you'll have to be put in the female dorms. Meaning that we can only head over there. Please use your head next time and we can save time instead of chatting."
"That was a bit harsh," Juda said as he walked over to Haruna and smiled, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Maybe you should try and be a little less cold. Or at least more logical as its uncommon for a guy to be in the girls dorm. Its only natural for her to be skeptical and want to know your reasoning."
Haruna looked at him for a second before looking down at Juda's legs. "I'm assuming that you can now walk on your own? If so, we can pick up the pace. I would like to actually get stuff done today for we head to sleep fi thats alright with you. Classes end at 5:00pm and its currently around 4:00pm. Lets keep moving."
With those words Haruna brushed off Juda's hand and walked forward with Suna close behind.
"And I'm supposed to make her feel loved?" Juda asked softly as he walked behind them on now steady legs. "How in the hell am I supposed to do that. I'm so confused."
