Chapter 4 - 4. Opportunity

Seeing that there was nothing wrong with the check, the visitor quickly and carefully put it away, then stretched out his hand and said in Cantonese with surprise:

"Hello, hello, my name is Terence Chang, thank you very much, little brother! If it weren't for you, we would be in big trouble."

After saying that, he took out all the banknotes and put them directly in Rowan's palm. Rowan didn't know who the guy was and neither did he care so, he easily resisted the temptation to accept all the banknotes, shook his head and pushed them over:

"My name is Rowan. This is not necessary. We are in a country where good people are hard to come by and I want to at least be one of those good people. However, the police may cause trouble fr me later. I hope Mr. Terence can help."

Terence Chang looked at the people beside him, winked at them, and then shouted angrily: "Why don't you go and call and inform them? This is such a big thing. If it weren't for this little brother's help, how would you explain it to Mr. Wu? Why don't you go and explain it to the police?Contact the Paramount Company."

Rowan watched the men leave and negotiated with the police who had come after them. He was well aware of the power of the American police. After becoming more certain that he won't be troubles, he turned around and said: "Mr Terence ,if you have anything else to do, you can leave first. I have something else to do."

Terence Chang quickly held his hand, shook his head and said softly, "Where do you work, little brother? Do you want us to take yoou there?"

Rowan looked at the slowly approaching car, nodded and said, "That's troublesome. Otherwise, if I'm entangled by these policemen, it will be difficult for me to get away today."

"Haha, this is as it should be, as it

should be."

The two got into a Meercedes-Benz

at the same time. Rowan looked at

the luxurious interior decoration. A trace of envy flashed across his face, and then there was no expression on his face after all it was his first time sitting in such a luxurious car but now with his cheat he didn't think for a second that he won't be able to get one like this later.

Terence Chang took a look at Rowan's formal suit, thought for a while, and asked softly, "Little brother, are you an actor too?"

Rowan was a surprise, and a look of shock appeared on his face, which soon turned into admiration. He said rather embarrassedly: "I am trying to become one, but haven't gotten any role yet. The competition is fierce but I want to try my luck."

By now Rowan has already guessed that the man before him was also a member of Hollywood so he used everything he can to leave a positive impression on him, and will later check who he is, as Rowan doesn't know him with just his name.

Terence Chang laughed, patted Rowan on the shoulder and then showed a meaningful smile and said "In that case do you want to join my crew"

"Really? But I'm worried that I won't

be able to act well." Rowan said as he suppressed his excitement. He doesn't know what was Terence Chang's crew was like. But still it would be a huge opportunity for someone like him who hasn't even done a small role before.

Terence Chang seemed to appreciate Rowan's "humility" He patted his shoulder and laughed loudly: "Hahaha, young people should be full of energy. Don't worry, I'm here. This is my business card. Our crew will continue working this month. 'II call you

then."

Rowan's heart moved, and he hurriedly and solemnly took the business card with both hands. The excitement on his face was

unexpressed. Of course, this was a bit of acting, but it definitely made him feel very excited.

After just entering the Hollywood he may be getting a role so fast. Now, just 2 weeks after his rebirth, he has already obtained resources that he could only have after struggling for who knows how long.

Rowan wasn't very aware of how powerful Terence Chang was next to him, but the way he acted was enough for Rowan to infer that he wasn't a low level person in Hollywood. He wanted to strike up conversation, but did not dare to go too far and just nodded solemnly.

Then he had an idea and took out the business card he had taken from Mary Acker's desk when he left Flame Entertainment Agency. He then wrote his name and phone number on Mary Acker's phone number and handed it to Terence Chang solemnly.

Terence Chang was slightly startled, then he reached out to take it stroked the brand new business card, sighed slightly, and his face showed deep reminiscence and contemplation: "Hey, Hollywood is Hollywood. Even the lowest-level actors know that the system is the foundation of their rise. It's nothing like our place, which is

in chaos."

Rowan did not interrupt Terence Chang's reminiscence, but just put on a listening attitude. He also knew that this nearly 50-year-old boss was not talking to him, but just wanted to express his depression.

During Terence Chang's conversation,he just nodded and responded calmly, and always maintained a humble and respectful

attitude. Such an attitude made Terence Chang admire him in his heart.

What is the biggest factor that distinguishes people from different races? Civilization! The civillization that is passed down from generation to generation and never ends!

When Terence Chang learned that

Rowan was studying for dual doctorate in Maths and Biology at USC instead of any other Ivy league colleges to follow his parents, his eyes lit up. One thing that most Asian countries have in common is the respect children have for their parents and what Rowan was doing by following his parents footsteps is the greatest form of love and respect.

Unfortunately, Terence Chang destination was too close to here, and after the two talked for more than ten minutes, they had already arrived at their destination.

Rowan got out of the car reluctantly, and told Terence Chang who was also reluctant, that he would wait for his call, and then waved to him.

Watching the Mercedes-Benz car quickly driving away, Rowan took a deep breath and knew that he would definitely succeed!

While thinking about it, he was about to take out his phone and call his agent, Mary Acker, but thought he doesn't even know the guy so let's first do our own research and if he is someone important like he thinks he is than Rowan will inform Mary.

In the next few days, Rowan resumed his regular life. Read a book after morning exercise. Peter helped him get a library

card at USC, which allowed him to rent books and read, saving a lot of costs

He went to work at the pizza shop at 9:30 The busiest time for this part-time job is during meal times, and unfamiliarity with the route is a big problem.

But this did not bother Rowan. He had an extremely good memory and easily memorized the maps of several nearby streets. On the first day, he ran like a local.

When he was free, Rowan also optimized the delivery routes, greatly increasing the efficiency of delivery, which he euphemistically called the delivery formula.

Because he was fast and good, and because he was very handsome and polite, Rowan received many tips and his daily salary was as high as US$200.

After lunch, he went to the acting class first. There are two major acting systems in the world. Stanislavski's system is called experientialism.

The requirement of the experiential school is that if I want to play that person, I have to become that person, and I must experience what is in his heart before I can act it out.

The other school is called Brechtian school, also known as expressionism. Expressionism only emphasizes the use of acting skills, emphasizing that it is impossible for me to become that person, without using the externalized trained acting skills to act.

There is no strict division between the two factions. The acting class teaches a mixture of routines, and you can use whatever work best.

In addition to boring theories, there are also some interesting trainings, such as special training for wide eyes. This training requires not blinking no matter what the situation is, even when there is a flashing light.

Interesting and practical, it can be used whether walking on the red carpet or acting on the set. After the acting class, he would

return to his apartment to continue

reading and studying.

He also got a call from multiple publishing houses who want to publish his book, KUNG FU PANDA. To deal with them he forwarded all of them to his agent Mary Acker his only demand was the tv and movie rights should be in his hands and get as much royalty as possible.

Mary did a splendid job and even got an advance payment of $100,000 as a signing bonus along with 10% royalty. For a newcomer this was a big deal but it was only possible because a lot of publishing house were interested in it.

When he got the news Rowan decided to thank Mary by inviting her to a dinner.

"You didn't need to do that I will be getting my commission out of this" Mary said as she sat on her seat in the restaurant.

"I know but I still think that you really did a great job and I can't just think of anything else but this for showing my appreciation "
