"It's time to go. What are you going to do? Do you know where Ereen live?" Lily whispered to Nadine. She was still uneasy. She couldn't work because she didn't know how to handle Ereen's job. Seeing the files stressed her. The folder she saw a while ago was full of numbers and names. Nadine realized that in her past life, accounting wasn't her forte. She couldn't even understand the flow of it.
Nadine pretended busy and she realized that it was a hard thing to do too. She couldn't start her story. She didn't have a chance. Every time she tried to write, some people come and asked about cheques. According to her understanding of Ereen's job, being accounting staff, she was in charge of releasing the cheques.
"I don't know. Wait. I will check her ID." She answered back and looked Ereen's ID. She was relieved when she saw her address written there. It was one ride from Mega.
"Did you find it? Can I go with you?" Lily asked.
She smiled and nodded. She was about to say something when the door of the Finance Manager's office open. Krisaint and Noemi came out. They were investigated first. After the two came out, the auditors followed. Krisaint and Noemi looked haggard. When they saw her, their eyes roll in irritation.
"They are bad!" Lily murmured and shook her head in disappointment.
Nadine nodded. It annoyed her too but she controlled her temper. "I opposed them that's why they are acting that way."
Lily nodded too. Nadine fix her stuff. She put everything in her bag including her notebook where her draft was written. She will continue it once she gets home. She was hoping that Ereen has a computer so she can start writing.
Nadine stood and headed out. Lily was following her. They are walking towards exit when Krisaint and Noemie grabbed her in one corner. She smirked.
"Why did you do that? You put us in a very bad situation!" Krisaint blamed.
It annoyed her more. Seeing her without any guilt pissed her off big time. "I just told them the truth, that's all. I will not take everything alone. You have fault too and you need to suffer the consequences!" she bravely talked back.
The two women were stunned. "W-What happened to you? Y-You suddenly changed…" Noemi asked unbelievably. She was the first one who reacted.
Nadine pulled her arm back. She held her head up high and looked at them straight in the eye. "Damn, right! So if I were you, stop harassing me!" she commanded and leave.
Nadine was surprised to see Grey watching them. Nadine's face blushed. She was a bit embarrassed but eventually she just held her head up high. She didn't do anything wrong. There is no reason to be ashamed of Grey.
"Goodbye, sir." she greeted Grey. He didn't answer, so Nadine decided to go. As she came out, she took a deep breath and sighed. She felt as though she had lost some weight in her chest.
"You are so brave, Nadine!" Lily compliment.
Nadine almost burst out laughing. However, deep inside her she secretly spoke to Ereen's soul. Hopefully, she helped her that way.
"Ereen," Grey called.
Nadine's heart almost jumped out of her rib cage. She held her breath when she saw him gazing at her intently. She was suddenly restless. She felt like he was reading her mind.
"S-Sir?" Nadine asked. She's not even breathing. This is how he affects her.
He comes closer. She move back. The man's presence was overwhelming. Her heart was pounding ever so much until Nadine shook her head. Why was she intimidated? She did nothing wrong so she should not feel that way!
Nadine held her head up high and face her boss. "Why, sir? Is there a problem with the files I give you?" she asked formally, though deep inside Nadine, she shivered. Their closeness sends a thousand tingling feeling inside. She noticed his scent. He smelled clean and fresh with a bit of smell of musk. God… she wants to hug this man.
"Nothing." He answered simply and watched her.
She blushed. His stares were like piercing her, reading her very soul. "W-Why are you looking at me that way?"
"You looked different without your eyeglass," Grey said.
Nadine was nervous. She realizes that moment she needs to be careful of Grey. He may found out what was happening. And if he does, it would be a very big mess. When he finds out that she is just a wild soul temporarily lending Ereen's body, he might do something bad at her.
"I am wearing a contact lens." She lied. "I need to go. I don't want to be caught in traffic." Nadine said and quickly left.
"Ereen!" Grey called but Nadine didn't stop. She called a taxi and left. Lily immediately joined her.
"Are you okay?" Lily asked.
Nadine nodded and held her chest. Her heart was beating like crazy. She felt like a human.
Eventually, Nadine just sighed. She remembered Grey again. She needed to be extra careful. Even she likes him, she needed to stay away from him. It he's a keen observer and he may be caught her.
