Chapter 9 - A New Quest

ATHENS

[Adrian walks towards his father weeping and heartbroken. He moved and sat near him. Aegeus looks at Adrian and also looked at Arno standing outside.]

Aegeus:

Don't cry, son!

The sun must set to see a new one rise.

I want to set down to see a new king in Athens.

Adrian:

I don't want you to leave me.

Aegeus:

I won't!

I will always be there to guide you.

In your heart.

I'll always live in your heart.

No one can destroy that.

Not even the gods.

Adrian:

Dad!

I won't ever leave you.

I promise.

Aegeus:

That promise will live when you start to sacrifice things for the country.

Adrian:

What do you mean?

Aegeus:

I know you have an affair with that boy.

Adrian:

What?

Aegeus:

Also, I know you're gay!

Adrian:

Dad!...um.. I...

Aegeus:

Falling in love is not wrong.

But falling in love with the wrong person!

That's wrong.

Arno is not your boy!

Being gay is not a wrong thing in Greece.

But as a prince, you can't be gay.

Adrian:

But Dad!, I love him so much!

And he loves me too!

Aegeus:

So, you're gonna marry him?

Adrian:

Um...that's difficult.

Aegeus:

So you understand.

But still why?

Why are you not changing?

One day you have to give a baby boy for Athens.

He will rule after you.

Will Arno provide that?

Adrian:

(Taking a deep breath)

So what do you want me to do?

Aegeus:

Break it!

Break your relationship!

Adrian:

WHAT?

Aegeus:

If you have a love for Athens just forget him.

That's good for both of you.

If you love him he won't move on in his life.

If you truly loved him just break it up!

[Adrian gets to think more deeply as it became a tough call.]

OLYMPIA

[Delia walks to her room in the palace. On the way she accidentally meets her father Cicero. As soon as he saw her he comes near her and holds her hands.]

Cicero:

Delia!

I'm terribly sorry for all that I've done.

I should have not gone against your will.

I'm really sorry for hurting Leo.

Delia:

Leave it, Dad!

I forgot those things.

And please don't ask forgiveness to me.

Ask it to Leo.

Cicero:

I will.

Delia:

Why were you so insisted to stop my love?

Cicero:

Because of a promise I gave to Orien years before.

Delia:

Which is?

Cicero:

That I'll make you married to Egan.

Delia:

Oh!

Did Egan know that?

Cicero:

I don't know.

All I know is... he gave everything for the smile you have now.

[And Cicero moved out from there while Delia's doubt over Egan's feelings get to increase.]

Delia:

I must find the truth!

AN ANCIENT FORSAKEN VILLAGE

[Eugene makes his way along with the dense forests over the mountain and after a long journey he meets an ancient village where ancient people live.]

[He enters the village and passes through the streets. The people look at him with a strange face and speak among them in their native language. But he moves out not minding them.]

[Then he came near a small house and knocked on the door. An old lady opened and..]

Old Lady:

jjuva marake fjuvetum!!

Eugene:

Sorry!

I can't understand.

Old Lady:

So, you're an outsider?

Eugene:

Yes!

Old Lady:

What do you want?

Eugene:

Just a cup of water is enough.

Old Lady:

Just come in.

I'll bring it.

[Eugene comes into her home and sits on a broken wooden chair which was the one kept for strangers. He gazes around the house. Her house was different from others. There were skulls and bones and ritualistic things hanging around. The Old Lady came bringing some food and water.]

Old Lady:

You must be hungry my child!

Take some refreshments.

[Eugene gladly accepts it and began to eat as he was hungry so badly.]

Old Lady:

Where are you from?

Eugene:

From Sparta.

Old Lady:

So, why you are here?

Eugene:

I'm seeking something?

Old Lady:

Something like what?

Eugene:

A crystal!

Old Lady:

What kind of crystal?

Eugene:

The Crystal which opens the gate to Jotenheim.

Old Lady:

Do you believe in myth?

Eugene:

I don't....but now I do!

Old Lady:

Thousands of people have gone in search of the crystals but none returned.

Eugene:

You know about that?

Old Lady:

I know everything child!

And also I know how to find them.

Eugene:

Them?

There is only one.

Old lady:

No one knows how many crystals are needed to open up the box that has the key to Jotenheim.

Some say it is buried deep down in Atlantis. Some say it is been destroyed. No one knows about the exact theory behind the crystals.

Eugene:

How to find them?

Old Lady:

I can take you there.

Eugene:

How?

[She takes a bowl having blood of a deer. She pours some of her blood. Then she turns and..]

Old lady:

Show me your hand.

Eugene:

Why?

Old lady:

Do you want to find the crystals?

Eugene:

Yeah!

Old Lady:

Then show me!

[Eugene shows his hands and she slices his palm with her knife. Eugene closes his eyes and controls the pain. Then she pours some of his blood in the bowl and went outside. There was a black horse standing. She moved to it and gave it to the horse to drink.]

Eugene:

What are you doing?

Old Lady:

The horse will lead you to the crystals.

Eugene:

Is this some kind of dark magic?

Old Lady:

An old spell.

Used to find out destiny.

[The horse dranks completely. She grabs the rope tied on the horse and give it to Eugene.]

Old Lady:

Keep it safe.

If you lose it you lose the crystals.

The horse will be your map.

[Eugene jumps over and..]

Old lady:

Let the gods protect you!

Move forward, child!

A lot more adventures are there for you.

[Eugen gallops and moves forward towards his destination. Meanwhile in Olympia...]

OLYMPIA

[Jerry comes to Egan and asks him about the decision he had made regarding Delia.]

Jerry:

What have you decided?

Egan:

You saw everything!

She loves him, man!!

I can't interfere with their relationship. That's inhuman.

Jerry:

So you're gonna forget her?

Egan:

I hope so.

Jerry:

Yes or No.

Egan:

That's difficult to answer.

Jerry:

Searching for a treasure that doesn't exist is a waste.

Egan:

I'm not going behind her.

I just care for her.

[Delia was listening to their conversation from outside...]

She considers me a best friend.

Jerry:

And what of you?

What do you feel of her?

Egan:

She means everything to me!!

She loved him the most!

So, I just helped her to get him.

[Delia moved away with a doubtful mind...]

I love her so much, Jerry.

I can't forget her.

[Delia walks alone speaking to herself. She enters her room and Leo was sitting on the bed reading...]

Delia:

Leo!

I found something.

Leo:

What is it?

Delia:

I feel Egan is loving me.

Leo:

No way.

How you so sure?

Delia:

He cares so much if it concerns me.

Leo:

If he loves you he won't help my love.

Delia:

You didn't understand Egan.

He'd do anything if it comes about his loved ones.

Leo:

So what do you want me to do?

Delia:

Help me find the truth!

[Leo tells a plan to find the truth about Egan's feelings.]

Delia:

Do you think it'll work?

Leo:

I don't know?

Only way to find it is to try it!
