"Sakuya! Sakuma! Lunch!"
Everyone knows that the Hatake household is lively. Ever since the two boys had been born, there was hardly a quiet moment. To top it off, Iruka was a very motherly character. While Kakashi struggled with parenting and often got punished alongside his sons, Iruka was like a fish in water when it came to teaching his kids and husband.
Like a fire drill, two sweaty boys barreled into the house and dashed for the bathroom, trying to get to the sink first.
"No running indoors!" Iruka's yell could be heard from the kitchen and Kakashi grimaced. He was teaching his sons how to transform and hadn't transformed back to his human's ears so Iruka's yell hurt more than usual.
The teacher who finished placing the last bowl of miso soup on the table saw his husband with those furry appendages and apologised quickly, kissing the man to ease the pain he caused earlier.
"Were they able to hold their transformation?" he asked in a voice softer than usual while Kakashi transformed back to his human form. The hybrid form had both advantages and disadvantages in the modern era. While it was very useful for hunting like what Kakashi was teaching his two three-year-old sons, it was not very convenient when they were in the city.
"Sakuma is slightly better at holding transformations but Sakuya was able to find and track the rabbits quicker. What's for lunch?" the werewolf asked and Iruka chuckled.
"Miso soup, prawn tempura and grilled beef. You should wash up before you sit down. Help me check on the boys, won't you? Naruto and Sasuke will drop by later. Itachi and Kurama sent something too so I'll have the boys open them up when their uncles arrive."
Kakashi nodded and left to find the two troublemakers. It was hard to believe that three years ago, these two rascals were born and even further back, their lives were so different. If Kakashi hadn't been stabbed and Iruka never brought him back to his tiny apartment that day, Sakuma and Sakuya would never have been born. Kakashi would never have a family and he would still be lonely while Sasuke and Naruto found each other, leading Itachi and Kurama to hook up too.
"Iruka," Kakashi turned around and called out.
"Yes?"
Kakashi took in the sight of his beautiful mate in an apron, holding a wooden spoon in one hand. He smiled. "I love you."
The blush on Iruka's cheeks was all it took for Kakashi to know that he was loved too and quickly went to find his boys in case they were up to no good again. Although he didn't have daughters, he was happy to have two children who were born safely despite the complications in male pregnancy.
Lunch was a messy affair as usual and Iruka sighed at the mess he had to clean up after Sakuma stole some of Sakuya's grilled beef. The two quickly got into a fight, bringing out claws and poor Sakuya got scratched on his cheek during the fight. Iruka wasn't pleased but left the punishing to daddy Kakashi who harshly grounded Sakuma. Iruka fussed over the wound despite the quick regeneration abilities. The teacher gave his sons disapproving looks and the hung their heads low. The mood was tense and nobody dared to interfere when Iruka was in such a mood.
Naruto and Sasuke came at such timing. At once, the golden fox was on his toes while Sasuke raised an eyebrow.
"What did they do this time?" the Uchiha asked calmly.
Iruka huffed and explained about the silly fight over food during lunch. Naruto hummed. "That's only natural. Both your sons are alphas, it's a territory issue and at their age, it must be very hard to control the instincts in them."
The teacher didn't immediately forgive his children because he didn't want any of them thinking that this was a small matter. However, Kakashi was less strict with them and convinced Iruka not to ruin such a special reunion. It wasn't easy for Sasuke to have a day off from work or for Naruto to return to the mortal world now that he was officially the fox clan's leader.
With a sigh, Iruka relented but not without a stern glare to remind his boys that punishment was only postponed but not over. Kakashi watched as the pups pawed at the package Naruto and Sasuke brought with them from uncle Itachi and uncle Kurama. They were probably the two most spoiled werewolves in this entire world.
Naruto and Sasuke didn't drop by often enough but they always sent gifts. Itachi and Kurama visited more frequently and the CEO would spoil them by taking them out to the amusement parks for the day so that Kakashi could spend some quality time with Iruka. It usually happened every once a fortnight or once a month but work has been becoming busier for the Uchihas lately. The wolves didn't get to see them much now.
While the pups entertained themselves with the latest model of hot wheels that Itachi and Kurama bought, Iruka served his guests some tea.
"I smell a change in your mate," Kakashi commented and Naruto grinned proudly, giving the silver-haired trader a victory sign.
"We came to tell both of you that Sasuke's going to be a mom soon. We still don't know the gender because it's still too early but we wanted to ask both of you to become our first child's godparents."
Iruka was quick to congratulate the couple and hugged them. "Does Itachi know?"
Sasuke nodded. "He said that it would be a bad idea for me to be working while I'm pregnant so he has temporarily resumed his official job scope as the CEO to run the business. Kurama was slightly disappointed that they had to postpone their family plans. Naruto and I didn't really plan for this so it was a rather pleasant surprise."
The golden fox stuck out a tongue playfully and Sasuke smacked him over the head before shooing him away to play with the pups. Once Naruto was gone, Sasuke turned to Kakashi and Iruka, his guard was down and he looked unusually small.
"I haven't told the idiot yet but we're actually having more than one kit and the pregnancy progresses very quickly, more so than a human's nine months."
Iruka became serious. "How many and how fast did Tsunade say it will be?"
Sasuke grimaced. "I'm on the first month but the pregnancy will be anywhere in between three to six months. I'm carrying a litter of five and she says I might have to induce the birth in order to minimise the risks."
Kakashi inhaled and looked at Iruka. "If you don't mind, the Hatake house is better equipped with facilities for your pregnancy if Naruto doesn't mind. Iruka's pregnancy hadn't been easy either but Ino was very good at taking care of him back then. We've been planning for more pups when these two grow a little older so there are rooms that have been equipped with the necessary equipment and resources required for another pregnancy. It would be good if you stayed with us so that we can help."
The relief on Sasuke's face gave them the answer required and the younger Uchiha relaxed a little. "Itachi can relax a little now," the younger Uchiha laughed and Iruka smiled.
"Have you started thinking of names?" Iruka asked and Sasuke blushed.
"I did. However, the dobe insists on naming our first child so I'm a little worried. That dumb fox isn't known for his good naming sense. I don't want my firstborn child to be named after food."
Kakashi laughed. "I don't think that's a bad idea. He can name your firstborn child Menma after his twin brother who died in order to protect him."
Sasuke thought about it and agreed. "But if he names them after anything else he's sleeping on the couch for a year."
Iruka laughed at that but didn't disagree. From behind, screams could be heard so Iruka went over to check on how Naruto was coping with the boys. Kakashi watched the chaotic scene of Naruto trying to run from his overly energetic pups sitting on his back and bending his leg backwards in a painfully awkward position in their play fight. Sakuma has his teeth chomped on one of Naruto's fluffy tails, causing the fox to cry out in pain.
"Sakuma! Sakuya! Let go of Naruto now!" Iruka hollered and the pups whimpered. It was a no-brainer what happened after and Kakashi took in every detail of this happy scene, indulging in the moment of his happy family.
