Regardless of their tragic condition, they went to school.
Shortly after they entered the school, Ae Rin met Seo Yoon. She seemed to be waiting for her. Kyou left the two girls to their chatting and went to his classroom.
"Hey, what's up? Is... everything ok? I got worried when you didn't pick up my call.." She said worriedly.
"Oh, sorry! I, uh.. was actually very tired so I ended up sleeping a lot.." Ae Rin lied.
"Sorry, Seo Yoon...I can't say you about everything that happened yesterday as well as today.. I don't want to get you involved too.." She thought to herself. She felt guilty for lying to her but she couldn't possibly reveal any of that. It would put her in grave danger.
After the boring history class, there was P.E.
All of them slipped into their P.E. uniforms and headed out to the open playground. They had physical exercises and stretching.
Kyou and Ae Rin's P.E. classes were always together so it was easy for them to communicate at times.
"Gather around, everyone! It's time for the physical tests!" The declaration made by the sir was accompanied by several whining voices of the students.
One by one, everybody started with long jump followed by physical strength test.
Each of the students get scores according to their performances. Even the worst student gets above 50 usually.
Then, it was Kyou's turn. Ae Rin was rather interested to see what will be the outcomes.
"Heh, he will become a laughing stock infront of everyone if he fails in this one. And I cannot miss this chance! Let's see...what can I do? Aha!"
She raised her fingers ever so slightly that nobody notices her and was ready to use her ability when he sets off to jump.
Kyou settled himself in a squat position with his eyes forward, aimed to score the longest distance jump.
Just as his feet lifted from the ground, he felt something crawling up his right leg.
He turned his head to look his leg and saw a python snake crawling up his feet and then slowly towards his thighs.
His eyes were wide in shock as if it was about to fall out and he screamed so loudly that it felt like his vocal cords were going to split in half.
"Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!"
Then, he fell on the ground with a loud thud while everyone was looking at him dumbfounded.
"Someone do something!!!! THERE'S A GODDAMN SNAKE ON MY LEG!!! What are you all waiting for??!" He screamed with his eyes shut.
"A..what? This dude's insane.."
"What's he babbling about? Hahaha!!"
The others were snickering and laughing at him hilariously while Ae Rin stayed calm and watched him from the crowd of students.
The sir approached him, irritation all over his face.
"Is this a new way to get rid of physical tests, Kyou?!"
Kyou opened his eyes and found himself surrounded by students and looked down at his leg. The snake disappeared. He looked up again and noticed that he was the 'centre of attraction' at the moment. Several students were taking pictures of him lying on the ground covered in dirt after the fall.
He knew he looked awfully miserable.
"Oh god...Did I just become a laughing stock for these people?" he thought to himself as he immediately got up from the ground, clearly not liking the attention he was gathering, and then patted the dust off of his pant.
"Would you mind explaining yourself?!" The sir lost control of his anger.
"I..I am sorry for causing the trouble, sir...But I really felt like a snake crawled up my leg!" he protested.
"Are you implying that there was a magical snake which could be seen only by you and none of us?" The sir sighed in frustration.
"Yes, sir! I-I mean, no sir...." He knew he didn't make any sense at all.
Everyone started laughing more in pure disbelief at this point.
Kyou's eyes wander off in the distance to see Ae Rin, staring back at him triumphly with an evil grin on her face.
Realization flooded his mind as he understood who did it to him.
"That little...!!" he mumbled under his breath.
"Show's over! Everyone, get back to your practice! You too, Kyou!" The sir glared at him.
He nodded and went back to the practice.
"Didn't think anyone would come up with something like THIS to avoid the tests!"
"I know right!?"
"That dude is a maniac! He even thought we would believe him!!"
"Look at his miserable look in this photo! Hahaha!!"
"That was one hell of a scream. It almost gave me a heart attack!"
There were several texts and pictures in their class group chat. The "snake incident" became famous for a while in the school all thanks to Ae Rin.
