Chapter 93 - Contract completion

Once the two humans were out of sight Gordan guided the empty ships back to the shore line and set anchor a bit off shore so that the inhabitants of the village would be able to loot the ships as they saw fight, since after all most of the materials were theirs to begin with.

Checking in on his soul creation. He saw that both of the ghosts seemed to have finished with their revenge far faster than he had expected, so he opened a portal using the soul creation as a catalyst and dragged the ghosts back to his location in order to send them on to the next life. Now that their revenge was complete they would be able to move on peacefully. The two of them had started to turn a transparent color as the resentment began to dissipate from their souls. The child looked at Gordan and smiled in the way that she had when they had spoken about theory and other matters, the look made Gordan feel more emotional than he had expected.

"It looks like you finally got emotions like the rest of us, I'm glad. Don't be too sad about all of this, it was never your fault in the fist place."

She slowly floated over and gave him a hug patting his back with a satisfied look on her face, in the end she was happy that she had been able to meet him again just like they had promised they would. Part of her wondered what had happened to bring him to this point and in this form, but her conscious was already starting to fade away as she began to move into the light which had been denied to her for so long, suddenly to her surprise he hugged her back and gently patted her head.

"Goodbye my dear friend, may your rest be filled with peace forevermore."

A single tear rolled down her face and the image shattered into particles of light which slowly faded in the light of the sun.

Gordan sat down on the beach and buried his head in his hands for several minutes

without moving a muscle.

The remaining ghost sat down next to him staring into the distance at a loss for what to do. Even though his revenge had been settled he still felt like something was holding him back while he was sitting there he wanted to ask the person next to him since his companion had trusted him so much, and that same companion had been able to move on after the exchange between the two of them. But despite wanting to talk to the person, he couldn't bring himself to disturb the silent figure surrounded by an air of depression. So the two of them just sat there until Gordan was able to compose himself.

He looked up at the figure sitting next to him and patted the ghost on the shoulder, an action which was only possible due to his high affinity to tormented and vengeful spirits which made them tangible to him.

"Don't worry you will be able to pass on soon, after all it looks like our guest has arrived a bit ahead of schedule."

Behind the two of them there was the faint sound of something landing on the beach. Gordan had heard the individual coming from far away and knew that when he sent the corpse is was only a matter of time before the Falcon General sought him out.

"What happened to them? "

Gordan turned around and saw that the general looked like he was about to break down with emotion. The Falcon General and his wife had long since suspected that their son had died after the kidnapping, and that was what most people thought since there had been no trace of them in all of the years of searching, but now the body of his dead child had suddenly appeared and the magic surrounding the corpse was the same as the guardian which he had seen hunting in the woods so he had instantly gone back to the place where he had first seen the guardian and then followed its trail to the beach where he found the guardian sitting alone looking out at a group of five ships anchored off the coast. The Falcon General had recognized them as the pirate ships that he had learned about in the reports which had been sprawled over the table during his meeting with the king, but at the moment he was more interested in the question of what had happened to even spend any of his thoughts on it.

"You wanted to speak with him didn't you?"

The guardian seemed to be speaking to the air beside him and not in response to the Falcon Generals words. He slowly raised his hand to the side and placed it in what looked like thin air activating a spell making a figure begin to apear next to him.

"Don't worry I can give the two of you some privacy to talk things over, but just know that the spell only lasts for half of an hour."

The ghost next to him nodded and Gordan snapped his fingers sending both of them to the location were the child's mother would be most likely located. He felt that if they were supposed to be able to say goodbye to their son then it would be best if both of them were able to do so, and not just one of them. Once he had finished he pulled out a cinder and lit it in the sand while he closed his eyes trying to not focus on his headache or emotions, desiding to just rest for a small time instead of dwelling on it.

When he appeared in the dream he instantly tried to focus on building the house more, but his mind would not calm down in the slightest and he soon gave up and instead walked over to the beach to sit down and watch the blood wash against the shore.

"Well don't you look happy. If you don't mind please try to refrain from thinking anything too gloomy. The last thing that this place needs is more insanity."

Gordan didn't look up at the figure who was carefully stepping over the thorns which were beginning to sprout from the ground around Gordan.

"People really are frail aren't we?"

The figure raised an eyebrow and sat next to him with a sigh.

"Don't talk like you are a human, You don't have the same being as humans, you are fundamentally different. They are weak you would be classified as a freak, no offence."

Gordan nodded his head but didn't say anything, he really was a bit of a freak among people, and he knew that. Still he had been born a human and he had known how being frail felt. He clenched his fists and looked over the ocean of blood with an indifferent expression.

"Well you can't let something like this hold you back. What is done is done and neither of us can change that fact. More importantly you need to remember to actually take a break now that this whole situation has been resolved."

Gordan nodded his head and stood up unclenching his fists and letting out his breath.

"Well I think that I have had enough sleep and I'm not getting any work done in here anyway. I had better go back to the village and pick up the guardian so we can head back to the island."

After closing his eyes he felt his consciousness drifting out of the dream world and into his own body once more. The sun had already gone down by the time that he came out of the dream world and he couldn't help but frown. The fluctuation of time in his mind messed with his head a bit but it wasn't anything too serious.

After picking himself up from the ground he walked to the village which was completely quiet. Gordan approached the barrier and stepped through to see that the cat creature was sitting there waiting for him with a questioning expression.

"Finished with the business ahead of time so I figured that we might as well head out a day ahead of schedule."

The cat creature nodded, and Gordan pulled out a letter telling the villagers that the situation had been resolved and for Bjorn to make his way to the island when he had all of his affairs in order. After that the two of them took down the barrier and then left for the island.
