Chapter 82 - The Dealer's Departure

The noble sat in his seat trying to think of what the Dealer would require of him, but for the life of him he could think of nothing.

"Don't worry about payment, I have already received it long ago. Your father asked me to help you when the time came, and I always keep my promises Mr. Fost no matter what they may be.

The Dealer's oppressive nature faded back into his shadow and his lip curled up slightly, not enough to make a smile, but more of a forced grins of sorts.

"One more piece of advice, just becouse all of your acquaintances are involved in such business, doesn't mean that it is the best course of action. I have heard that the forest is getting to be quite the popular location when it comes to natural materials which can be used in the development of weapons, it is much more efficient and less dangerous, it might be worth your consideration. And with that, I should bid you farewell, I trust that you will make the right decision."

Gordan snapped his fingers and he instantly disappeared from the cabin leaving behind the confused noble. Gordan reappeared on the beach and quickly dropped the guise reverting back to his mutated form. He let out a gasp of exushtion. He had been using magic to frequently and he needed to take a break, while he was getting used the the nonstop headache it had started to take a toll on him mentally. And he really didn't need anymore of a toll on his mind. The lack of sleep that he was experiencing once again made things worse, and he felt that he would start to become unstable in his actions. which was not good. With the addition of his emotions that would cause him to go over the edge any time now. Gordan yawned and slowly walked into the ocean to find a good place to sleep without any interruptions. He would sleep after the whole deal went down at noon of the next day, but he needed to have a good place to rest his head before he used even more of his mental energy. He was still letting matter be consumed by the stone on the back of his neck and he could feel it growing more and more full of energy.

As soon as he was fully submerged in the water he made his way around looking for a resting place. When he was close to the bottom of the depths he felt a surge in the back of his neck and he felt a pain course through his body starting at the place on the back of his neck.

(System will now take this time to add more additions to the host, becouse reasons...)

Gordan frowned unconsciously as he drifted into unconsciousness, the reason was rather obvious to him, but he didn't know why it had chosen now of all times to mess up his ability to function.

He woke up in his mind once more and looked around to see what the situation was in his mind, since he had not entered since the change had occurred. He saw emidiatly that the tree which had been small and shriveled had grown several inches and now had thick thorns growing out of it at various points. Gordan kneeled down and gently touched one of the branches and suddenly felt a small surge through his brain as some information was seemingly transferred.

×Jester× ×The end is here×

×How long can you last?× ×The king's ally× ×The Dealer× ×Necromancer's friend× ×System's intrest× ×Contract breaker× ×Evolving crystal× ×Blessing of the ice general× ×Sleepless× ×Guardian× ×The beast× ×Ect...×

All of the information was smashed together and it took him a bit of time to sort them out into understandable information, and still he couldn't really get anymore of the information un-scrambled at the moment. He could see why the one who had chosen him for the game had said that this method of system was quite confusing for people. He let go of the branch and looked closely at the strange tree in front of him. it was like a puzzle which was begging to be solved, and that was an invitation that he didn't want to refuse. So he once more touched the tree, but this time at a different point to see what would happen. The point which he chose was one of the thorns, and this time a different set of messages formed in his brain.

-Cronic migraine- -Battle wounds-

-Mutation based injuries- -Contract curse- -Snake poison- -mental trama- -Insomnia-

-Ect...-

He pulled his hand away once more and took some time to unscramble the information which had flooded into his brain.

"So you finally decided to take a look at the creepy plant monster hybrid thing I see."

Gordan turned to see that the figure was behind him staring at him with an amused expression.

"So I take it that you are already acquainted with this strange, plant?"

The figure looked slightly confused at the statement.

"Plant? That thing tries to bite me every time I get close to it, how is it a plant?"

Gordan reached out out his hand and touched one of the thorns without any reaction.

"I guess it just doesn't really like parasites all that much."

The figure scoffed and shrugged its shoulders in indifference.

"I wouldn't really call myself a parasite, more of an extension of the mind, which just so happens to be unnatural and slightly parasitic."

Gordan pulled his hand away from the thorn and stood to his feet.

"Well it doesn't matter either way, I have to stay here until the changes are completed, let's hope that for our collective sanity that isn't to far away."

The figure looked slightly offended at the statement but decided not to delve further into the matter since he could see that Gordan didn't seem to be in the best of moods. He had also noticed that Gordan was looking quite a bit differently than he had the last time that the figure had seen him. And since the figure had spent the past several days lying dormant in Gordans mind he had no idea of what had happened with the system up to this point. He had been able to recognize Gordan purely on instinct and had only later realised the oddity of his current appearance.

"So, off topic for a bit. Why do you look like an animal monster person, with characteristics of a guardian?"

Gordan's ears flattened to the sides of his head and his attention was turned on the figure.

"It is rather complicated, but for the time being I am a guardian like creature substitute for an actual guardian."

He had no real reason to be upset about the comment, but the way that the figure had said what he had said made him angry for whatever reason.

"Take it easy, I was only curious, I had no intention of aggravating you. Anyway, what did you mean when you said changes? Is someone turning you into a creature or something?"

Gordan let himself relax his tenced muscles a bit and he began walking along the dark waters of the blood ocean, he had the sudden urge to dive in and see what he could find down in its depths but he would hold himself back for now.

"Why are you always doing that I wonder? You always tell yourself that you can try something at a later date, pushing away the things that are interesting to you in favor of helping those around you. You would think that after you were freed from that blasted contract that you would lose that side of you, but I guess that old habits die hard. Even so, listen to me on this one thing Gordan, you don't have to worry about everything else all of the time anymore. You can focus on the things that you want to, and do the things that intrest you, stop holding yourself back."

Gordon's face turned down into a frown and the figure watched in silence as a black ooze started to bubble out of his aura.
