The child rushed forward and fell to the ground next to the person on the ground.
"Please forgive him, he didn't mean anything by it, he does things without thinking sometimes, please forgive him."
The cat creature who had stayed in Gordan's hand for the brief fight now jumped down and landed on the person looking into their eyes earnestly. It then hissed and patted the persons face before grabbing onto the spear and climbing up to Gordans shoulder and rubbing his head against his neck.
"Sigh, if you say so, I guess I can let it slide this time. Consider yourself lucky punk, if it hadn't been for them you would have died just now."
He lowered the spear and allowed the person to get to their feet. The child was a bit confused as to if he was referring to her or the cat on his shoulder, it almost seemed like that had been the case. There was something odd about the cat which seemed to be quite close with the guardian which seemed strange given his rather intimidating appearance.
"So then, what do you intend to do now that the contract has already been formed?"
He looked past the person who was standing in front of him tward the stairs where another person was slowly walking up. Instantly upon seeing the person he recognized that the individual was a half breed this was made evident from his light brown hair and lack of claws, he was also missing one of his horns, but that most likely had nothing to do with his lineage. A mix between human and monster, they were a rarity even before the war, but he seemed to be a bit in the older side so he could have been born during or before the war easily. Whatever the case might have been it really didn't matter all that much to Gordan since it wasn't his business at this point.
"We can always just have the contract canceled and then reform it with me."
Gordan narrowed his eyes and the red in his arms began to glow brightly.
"Do you really think that it's that easy to get rid of a contract before the terms have been met? At best she will lose her arm, are you fine with that outcome?"
The person looked at him with determination, but Gordan could also see worry starting to creep into his eyes.
"There is a way however to change the holder of the contract without breaking the contract. It would fall under unforeseen changes and the contract needed revision. But for that to occur those in the contract must agree and do so of their own will."
He could see some form of hope spark in the back ot the persons eyes. He fell to his knees and laid his face to the ground.
"Please, I beg of you, let me take her place in the contract. She is just a child who was forced into this role."
Gordan turned his head to the side, he could tell that this person unlike the one who had come and attacked before, was on the stronger side. So to see him so earnestly trying to help out this small child was rather curious.
"It doesn't really matter to me all that much, the person you need to be worried about is the child herself. After all she is the one that has to agree to the change."
The person stood up and walked over to the child who was still standing behind Gordan after what had happened to the first person. When she saw him coming forward tears started to whell up in her eyes and she ran over to him giving him a hug.
Gordan stood at a distance waiting for them to finish their conversation which took a bit of time becouse the child wouldn't stop crying.
When they finally finished talking the two of them walked forward and stood in front of Gordan.
"I have agreed to change places with him, the contract has to be altered slightly. Are you fine with that?"
Gordan nodded and took the girls hand and the man's hand at the same time and let the energy channel through him. The prosses seemed to be a bit painful since the little child kept squirming around, involuntarily trying to pull away from the feeling. He could see that the other person as well was clenching his teeth in pain. After the light died down again Gordan smiled at the both of then, the mark had been successfully changed from one to the other without a hitch.
"And now, the contract must be reinstated. And for that to happen I need the two of you to go off for a bit. So you should wait with the others."
He snapped his fingers and the two of them disappeared leaving Gordan alone with the person and the cat creature who was now on his shoulder once more.
"If you don't mind, I would like to make a small addition to the request, if that is at all possible."
Gordan seemed moderately intrigued as to what this person could want in addition from him but he nodded his head for the person to continue.
"I want you to cure Lily of her illness."
Gordan opened his hand and the cat creature jumped onto it to get a closer look at the person in front of them. The action confused the person but he couldn't afford to make the guardian upset. The cat turned around and walked back up Gordan's arm and sat down with a small meow.
"I can take a look at her, but I'm not exactly a doctor so I can't really promise that I will be able to heal here. What is here affliction specifically?"
The person in front of him was a bit shocked that the guardian had actually accepted his condition.
"You don't want to add more onto the contract to compensate for the change?"
Gordan shook his head and sighed.
"Why would I ask for more? I already have what I want, so it would be pointless for me to ask for more. Anyway, let's go and find the others after you finish telling me what is wrong with the child."
The person was a bit taken back by the way that Gordan was speaking since it made him feel like he was talking to an equal not a being above him. But the way that the guardians presence was, it made him very clearly know that he was. These things confused him a bit, so he decided to just go with it and tell him what he had asked.
"Well you see, Lily is one of the few individuals that is unable to coexist with magic. And usually a person is compensated with strength instead, but for what ever reason she is extremely sickly instead. Please save her if it is at all possible, I just want her be able to be able to live her life without any more handicaps than she already has."
Gordan nodded his head and the cat creature on his shoulder sat there staring at the person without blinking.
"That is a bit odd, usually that would be the case indeed. Well then."
Gordan snapped his fingers and the two of them appeared next to the rest of the group and Gordan walked over to the child and lightly tapped her forehead with his finger. A dark mist poared out of her following his hand as he pulled back from her. Thankfully the island was doing most of the work so his headache wasn't that bad yet and since this was part of the contract it didn't matter how much power he used it wasn't really taking a toll on him ever since agreeing to take on the job. Gordan let the black smoke filter into the gem on the back of his neck and he let out a sigh of satisfaction as he felt the stone start to change slightly once more.
"Well that was suprising. How did you come into contact with a parasite like that I wonder?"
The girl looked at him confused and then opened and closed her fists, she felt better than she had ever felt in her life. She looked at Gordan in awe and lowered her head in thanks.
"Don't bother, if you want to thank someone, thank your friend, he asked for the job to be done in the first place."
The child looked over at the person who had taken her place and got up and ran over to him to give him a hug. Gordan and the cat creature watched on in slight indifference, while the other four people smiled as they watched the two embrace. The child continued to hug the person for several minutes until Gordan cleared his throat alerting them to the fact that they were making the others wait.
"Sorry about that, let's get going."
Gordan began walking toward the beach while the others got themselves together. He had waited for some time now and it seemed that the people just kept coming up with more and more ways to prolong the departure. Gordan didn't like being in a contract even if it didn't mean that he actually had any downsides in said contract. But he had promised the guardian that he would help, so he would see this through until the guardian was healed.
Gordan again felt the rush of the wind as he was walking and felt the urge to run, but for the sake of the others he stayed at a walking pace so that they wouldn't fall behind. The others had started to follow as soon as he had started to walk and they were speaking amongst themselves, but Gordan was too busy thinking to wonder about what they were saying for the most part. He was wondering when it was that his emotions had become so speratic, thinking about when the strange individual who had drafted him into the games had lifted the seal off of him. That was about the only change that had majorly happened to him that could explain why he was so much more emotional than he had been in the past. He had experienced quite a bit of pain from the seal being removed, due to the reintroduction to his body. Now that he was in this new form he felt even stronger than he had before, so at least the contract could be of some use to him in the end, since he could use the pirates as test subjects without any difficulties.
He was still getting used to moving in this form but he felt like he was starting to get used to his skin.
=Scream=
Gordan turned around and saw that the child had fallen to the ground once more. He felt a bit annoyed by this, since it seemed to be the child's defalt reaction to anything that happened to her. He looked at her and she flinched a bit and then looked down at her feet in shame.
"What is the matter now?"
The girl fumbled around with her hands and then stood to her feet. The cat creature looked down at the child and let out a small meow.
"The stone on the back of your neck, it blinked."
Gordan looked at her for a minute and then at the cat creature who looked over his shoulder at the back of his neck and then came back around and nodded its head. Gordan reached back and felt he stone which seemed to have changed shape not resembling an eye from the feel of it. He gently touched the center of it which made the movement stop entirely and a bit of smoke came out and flew into the air.
"Don't mind it, the stone was just finishing off the parasite, nothing to worry about. Now let's keep going."
The child stood up, and sure enough the stone which had started forming into an eye had gone back to the way it had been before. She stood up and followed behind with an embarrased expression.
Gordan was frowning while thinking about what had just happened, he guessed that it didn't really matter but having an eye on the back of his neck might freak people out even more with the addition of his appearance. He decided to keep an eye on the stone from now on since he remembered that it was supposed to eventually become a type of creature.
