The child freaked out trying to drag herself away from Gordan who had stopped in his tracks after the child's initial scream. He didn't really see the need to advance any further since he hadn't intended to approach them to begin with. The three adults looked around fearfully to see what had caused the child to react in such a bizarre fashion. But as they could not see Gordan they turned there attention to calming down the child.
"Calm, down no one is there, remember that you are here to preform the awakening ritual, don't lose your nerve now. What ever you thought you saw it was probably a vision."
The child eventually calmed down but still continued to breath heavily. Gordan tilted his head to the side as he watched the small group as they calmed the child down until she was completely back to normal. The child stood to her feet and straightened her clothes before looking to the spot where Gordan had been standing before, but there was no one there which made the child sigh with relief.
Gordan was glad that he had initially hid behind the rock before coming out to see if anyone noticed him. He found it rather humorous that there had been a person that was able to see him with the fir on. He had changed his position so that he was just behind the group making sure that he was completely out of the child's line of vision.
The group entered the forest cautiously looking about them for any change in the surroundings. As they walked they did so with purpous like they knew where they were heading at the moment. Gordan was content to just follow them and observe the surroundings. The island was full of various vegetation which looked suitable for consumption and at one point he noticed a clear steam which might prove to be useful later on.
Gordan wondered what in the world they were here for. He had heard them say somthing to the child but that didn't really make sence. suddenly he felt the pang in the back of his head and he felt that someone had landed on the island in the same place that the others had which made him wonder if the two events were somehow related. For now he decided that he would just focus on one target personally, but while he was walking behind the group he picked up some dirt and fashioned a small bird which he infused with a small amount of magic which instantly brought it to life. He let the bird fly up into the air which spooked the adults who looked around worriedly.
Gordan felt a slight headache coming in but it wasn't as bad as the one from earlier. The spell would send the creature to observe the new group and give him feedback. The only problem with this method was that it split ones focus between two different visions. Since the spell was supposed to be used in a dark area so that it wouldn't cause as much damage to ones mind but, at the moment Gordan didn't find a need to do so.
Gordan was already finding the stone in the back of his neck to be a great help. While headaches weren't somthing that he enjoyed experiencing he also liked that his body wasn't falling apart every second of the day.
After they went further into the trees the surrounding began to change, gordan noticed several statues jutting out of the ground in various locations but nothing too strange until they abruptly came upon a stone arch which was covered in tribal markings. If it had been a normal arch Gordan wouldn't have found it at all strange, but he could feel power coming off of it in large quantities. The group walked through without hesitation but Gordan snapped his fingers and appeared on the other side instead. Close distance teleportation was a simple thing to do and it didn't increase his headache to badly. As soon as he stepped foot on the ground he recognized another presence nearby. One that he supposed had been hidden by the gate somehow. This place was becoming more interesting to him, but he didn't stop to investigate since the group had already started to move further up the path.
Gordan was even more curious as to what they were planning on doing in this place. The three adults suddenly picked up the child and drastically increased their speed to the point of running. Gordan frowned and loosened up his muscles which were surprisingly taut, he felt like he was being held back by somthing and suddenly felt like running forward as fast as he could. Assuming that it was an effect of the area he kept at a speed that wasn't running, but was fast enough to keep up with the group. He almost lost his balance several times but thanks to his sudden increase in flexibility he was able to twist himself back into place. At times it almost felt like his body wanted to fall into pieces and he couldn't help but wonder if that had anything to do with the system adding on too many mutations. What ever the case, he would just have to deal with it.
The further down the path that the group ran the stronger the presence grew, until it seemed to be overpowering the entire area. Finally the group slowed down and let the child walk on her own once more. Which helped Gordan out quite a bit since the smell of that much power was disgusting. It wasn't that the power was too strong for him to take, but more that it left a bad taste in his mouth which only grew more intense the closer that they got to wherever they were going.
Wondering what the issue could be Gordan decided to go ahead and check out the source to see what was going on. Anything that was giving off a scent like that was either in great distress or just a putrid mess in general.
As they were walking the adults suddenly felt something like a breeze passed by them with a flash and they quickly looked around to see what had happened in the otherwise quiet forest, but there was no sign of any living thing so they decided that it must have just been the wind and began to move forward again. The child which was with them also felt the chill but unlike the adults she didn't dare to take a look and see. Her mission was simple, all she had to do was awake the guardian so that he would be able to help them and then possibly die, if that was the guardians wish. The guardian of the island was said to have been lost forever, but a day ago the seer in the village had received a vision of the guardian's location. Upon hearing it the village instantly went into overdrive in order to prepare the necessary arrangements. But the seer had also said that the new guardian might be a bit on the odd side so they should take someone that he wouldn't perceive as a threat. Making the silly child of the village the most logical choice. In preperation for the event the seer had informed her that the guardian's appearance might be strange, but that she should not be frightened or else the guardian might grow angry. When the child had seen the figure on the beach that the others had not she feared it greatly. Something about it seemed different than what the seer had described, it seemed alot more murderous and alot more sad as well. It almost seemed like it would swallow her whole without even batting an eye Which terrified her. She rubbed her arms which had been covered in hearings that were customary for the guardian. and shuddered remembering the figure that she had seen before. Suddenly she straitened up and steeled herself, her people were counting on her and she couldn't show fear, odds were that the adults had been telling the truth when they said she had just been seeing things, but ever since she had seen the figure she had felt like a strange presence had been following them. When the 'wind' had blown past, the presence had dissapeared as well. She took another step forward towards her unknown fate with gritted teeth.
As Gordan was running he felt something that he had never experienced in his entire life. The sensation of running in this form was foriegn to him, it was like he was part of the wind itself, he could feel himself increasing in speed as he went along and the feeling was fantastic. He also noticed that while he was running like this there was absolutely no sound from when his feet hit the ground, the only thing that was left was a gust of wind. As he got further down the path the ruins gradually increased until he found that instead of a crude path in the dirt he was traveling on a road. He forced himself to slow too a walk as soon as the change occored. He had a feeling that it would be wrong to pass through this place too quickly, almost like it would be disrespectful. After walking for a bit the path led into a square where there were ruins of buildings on either side of the path. Something about the place seemed to be quite familiar to him, and not really in a positive way. The buildings looked like they had suffered extreme damage by somthing and he saw many skeletons strewn about the place. It looked like all of the people had been murdered but then the murderers had emidiatly left and sealed off the area so that everything was left exactly the same.
Gordan walked over to one of the skeletons which seemed to be an adult covering a child who was reaching out for a small bird carved out of marble which was several inches away from the small skeleton's grip. Gordan leaned over and picked up the bird, after examining if for a moment he placed it in the small skeleton's hand before getting up and moving on his way. The further he got into the former city the more and more familiar it was looking, but it wasn't until he got to the end of the buildings and saw a stairway leading up into a grove of trees that he realised why it looked so familiar. During the war there had been a guardian that protected the sea of the monster's kingdom. The king had been very ambitious in those days trying to build up even more fame for his kingdom, he had launched a full scale attack on the island but had been unable to find the hidden village. Gordan on the other hand had no problem locating it or for that matter entering the location, so the king had ordered him to destroy the area and the guardian. Since he was so angry about the situation he had activated the contract without even realizing it and Gordan had been physically forced to destroy the village without mercy.
Gordan slowly walked up the stairs and ran his hand along the railing. The trees were blossoming with deep blue flowers which fluttered to the ground creating a beautiful carpet, which had a slightly sweet and calming scent to them. When he reached the top he saw the small temple which was in a small open area among the flower petals. As he drew near the doors suddenly opened revealing a creature covered in a shroud.
"So you have finally come to finish off the job, I thought you would've made it sooner."
