Chapter 1 - Wolf, Owl.

In this world, no matter how much of a hardworking or a genius one is, if you were not born into wealth or power, and been thaught every vicious technique in the book, you will only find one result at the end of your road.

Failure!

And if the poor ever dreamed of changing his fate, and started trying to walk, barefooted on the road, all the green-eyed monsters around him will try and pull him down, chop him to pieces and burn him to dust, over and above all the pain done by all the broken glass spread in his way, and that is all because he tried to reach something which they think that is forbidden.

But if he was to be born with a silver spoon in his mouth, he will find a wholesome of them at the bottom of his feet, fighting over whom is worthy enough to have the honor of licking his magnificent boots, just to catch a glimpse of his graciousness, giving up all the pride of being a human just for that little prize they got for keeping it clean and shiny.

In this world, the poor fight the poor to survive, just to live a worthless livestock life, while the rich dine on their riches and nag about how hard their life is, with all the noises the poor ones are making.

A lot of people think that the problem lays with what the moneyed class thinks and do, but the truth that no one likes to hear is, that once you forsake your humanity, knowledge, truth, and the use of your brain, to seek the shelter known as a stable life, you have already become a tamed animal, living on fear of the illusion of power, which they think money can buy, but forgot that unity is what they fear the most.

A bird dies for food, a man dies for wealth, while for he who wants to be a human should die seeking the truth.

It is better to live with an empty stomach, then to die with an empty brain.

People look at a lone wolf treading the road to the forbidden forest, wondering, why does he travel alone?

Did he choose for his life to be one of solitude?

or perhaps he was cast out of his old pack?

But no one has ever wondered that maybe, he was just fed up with the nonsense of the packs, or if it is the cycle of life that took his loved ones to the underworld, along with his hope and dreams.

And if they ever were to open their eyes widely and gaze at him, and try to understand all of his actions, sitting on that dark hill, looking up at the full moon howling with a deep reverberating voice filled with aching sorrow, showering under the faint gray moonlight that falls on his dark black fur, which swallows it like a black hole, and within that darkness, looking closely, a kind of azure color could be seen, shining in the duskiness of the night, a reflection of all of those rays on the dark blood, leaking from all the wounds on his back.

He was tired . . . crying for help, crying for forgiveness, remembering all the mistakes that he made, the friends that betrayed him, the loved ones that forsake him, the family that left him, alone against this cruel world . . . Calling for love to heal him, melt the ice that surrounded his frozen heart . . . crying for all those of his kin that wouldn't befriend him, share his pain, only because they couldn't find a sound place on his back to stab their fangs in.

/* If you were to take the road alone you might feel loneliness, but at least you won't suffer from the pain of those hurtful stabbing knives. */

And near that hill, a forest, full of Withered old trees, lifeless without any sign of a living being, but deep inside there exist a tree, seems like the oldest tree in that forest, with its roots spreading all over the forest, and between all of its branches, there resides a mysterious shade, that of a bird size with shining golden colorful yellow eyes like that of dying star, that of a snowy owl, hiding in the midst of all the shadows, as she was gazing at the howling wolf with, a gaze filled with empathy . . . a gaze of that who knows the pain. Wanted to reach out . . . stop his agonizing wailing, tell him that she is here for him. . . yet because of the oath she once took, she couldn't.

Wishing if only there was a way for her to be together, maybe reincarnate, and become a wolf of the same kind . . .

/* No matter how lonely you feel just remember there is always an owl that can feel you, and even though it is from darkness but always she tries to help you as much as she could, but with all that repulsive aura coming out of you, she could not find any way to approach you, and it is way impossible to detect them because if when you gaze around trying to find them as a reflex of there souls they always look away, fearing to be tainted by the unbearable sour smell of dark blood. */

Even if life was kind enough, and gave the owl a chance to befriend the wolf, surely he will take an oath to protect the owl, precious her and be the shield of her life, but at the end of the day, the owl could only be the eyes on his back, the wolf might really be in need of that from her, but once the owl senses danger, she could not help but to spread her dazzling snowy wings, and fly away...

Holding his paw to the sky, towards the flying owl in a useless effort to stop her, howling, trying to scream he needs her . . . but as if the owl couldn't understand she keeps on going, rising up to stars, without giving him a second glance, as the wolf was left with only agony, despair, and a weakening fighting soul as he keeps on trying to survive this hellish burning of pain.

Love is like a drug to the frozen heart, it doesn't melt the ice as the wolf thought it would, but it only made cracks to spread instead which might reach and break his weakening heart. And as the warmth of the breeze flew in through the cracks, the wolf has mistaken this feeling for a healing process, but little did he now that within that breeze, a hidden poison was the cause of his relief, but once the owl flew away and was gone all pain returned twofold, causing his heart to ache and submit to the brain, and severing all of his emotions, and face the clan of hyenas that were lurking in the shadows of the forest, with nothing to lose, nothing to protect, and returning to his old state if not worse, alone...

/* The wolf learned to never show weakness, never show sympathy, be cruel to enemies, be cruel to oneself, nothing is eternal, and that this world is filled with hyenas . . . trust no being, and be patient and believe in God for surely He does not waste the reward of the good-doers. */

As the fight was over, standing on and above all corpses, howling one last howl, shaking the forest as it rang out, hearts would ache and break if they were to hear it, he drops down on his knees, fighting not wanting to submit to his fate, but as his torn body couldn't bear his weight with no power left in it, slowly he falls on his side, breathing hardly his last breaths...

As he was at his last moments, remembering all his past, swimming through all of his painful memories, and as his eyes were closing with no power left to let them stay open, he caught a glimpse of those dazzling snowy wings lighting his soul, covering and blinding his sight as she was flying back for him, his eyes lit up with a glint of happiness, but with all the blood that was dripping from his wounds covering his pupils with a dark crimson color, the owl couldn't see that dim light.

as they were walking side by side earlier in the forest, a sense of danger hit her keen perception, she knew that it was that of a deadly threat, there wasn't time for her to warn him, so she flew away as fast as she could to seek any nearby help, but none was found, and as she was searching she heard that last howl and freaked out, and with a heart filled with worry she turned back to return to him, but as she reached him, she could only see a bloody face in front of her, she wished if she could heal him, wished if she could give him from her life source, wished if stayed and fought alongside him, she didn't know why but she felt a burning blaze in her heart, and as she was glaring at his eyes, she felt as if the fire spread out on all of her body.

And at last, as he was struggling breathing, one last long breath . . . so did she.

A wolf and an owl, side by side.

Black and white.

A fire that couldn't reach the ice.

The ice that died from the warmth.

Without pain, he who seeks the truth will never know relief.

Without darkness, he who seeks the truth will never embrace the glints of light.

Without loneliness, blue devils, he with the pure heart, will never find true love.
