Chapter 4 - IV. Mourning times

All necessary arrangements was done, its time for Caesar and Yingyi to separate. Then finally, Yingyi started to talk to Caesar.

"Why do we have to separate? Can't you fight while I'm beside you? Do you see me more as a burden than your wife? When will I ever see you again? Promise me, we'll see again each other alive!" Yingyi nagged in a broken Latin while sobbing.

"I love you my forever Yingyi." said Caesar in low tone while hugging her.

Caesar left Yingyi in the villa with a kiss. He then went directly to the port where the fleet awaits him. Yingyi will start travelling once Caesar left the Villa.

The destination of the fleet of Caesar is Egypt, he is on a mission to receive fealty of the Egyptians. During this time, Yingyi's group of hundreds are now passing thru Illyria, then next to northern Italy, to Gaul (France), and then they will cross the English channel to Britannia.

Upon the arrival of Caesar's fleet to Alexandria City in Egypt, they were welcomed by Ptolemaic noble representatives. Caesar was seduced by Queen Cleopatra while on a feast, after that both Roman and Egyptian forces joined in military campain in North Africa region and other places in the east of Egypt. The whole campaign in the East Mediterranean was done in just a few months, The region is now under Roman rule by Caesar's authority. Now, another unrest is building up in Hispania (Spain and Portugal), the Son of Pompey who escaped is now building up an army in the west mediterranean. Hispania was known to be a strong supporter of Pompey, that is why his Son quickly organized Legions under his banner. Caesar now needs to rush to Hispania to end this petty Civil war once and for all. So that he can finally reunite with Yingyi as soon as possible.

At this moment, Yingyi discovered that she is pregnant. She was so happy that she made a successor for Caesar, but at the same time worried. Her loyal servants were the first to know about the news, then Cnaeus was the first Roman to learn that Yingyi is pregnant, a successor of Caesar! However, they need to keep this a secret until when the time has come. Cnaeus think of the ways to deliver this message to Caesar, however, the risk is higher than the news. If leaked, the life of the Child will be in much danger while the news might not even reach Caesar. So Cnaeus decided to abandon his thoughts, he just wrote in his journal regarding this event. The group of Cnaeus with Yingyi is now in Alesia, Gaul. Few more weeks or a month, and they will reach Britannia.

In Egypt, Queen Cleopatra was also found pregnant and Caesar is the father.

"Send a message to Caesar that I am pregnant of his child. Quicky!" Queen Cleopatra orders her servant.

Meanwhile, Caesar and his cavalry is pursuing the son of Pompey and some the remnants of their force. Some were given pardon, but others were not due to gravity of their war crime. While subduing Roman cities in Hispania, Caesar received a message from Egypt. Cleopatra is pregnant of his Child.

After several months, Caesar cornered the son of Pompey and was finally slain. Pompey's Legions disbanded one after another. Caesar has now one less enemy, he is aware that with his newfound strength in Rome, he made a lot of enemy including some of his friends, that is why Caesar postponed his recall order to Cnaeus because of that danger.

In Britannia, Cnaeus successfully made a coexistence agreement with the Iceni where they plan to settle. Cnaeus builds four buildings to house the entire Cohort, and one residential building for Yingyi and her servants. Wooden palisade surrounds the settlement, and a wide farm plots inside. A small garden was also built outside Yingyi's resident. They are settled now and secured.

In Rome, as soon as Caesar enters the Gate, Roman people welcomed him with a smile and flowers are everywhere. Caesar and his legion began their triumphal procession with Tuba playing loudly and in hymn with the marches. Roman people cheered loudly for the arrival of Caesar, it was a glorious event. The triumphal procession ended when Caesar enters the Roman Senate building, everyone was silent. No one dares to talk. Caesar announces his feats, and what he expects from the Roman Senate. Other Senators nod, but some just stared at Caesar.

At the end of the discussion, Roman Senate declares that Julius Caesar will be forever dictator.

Caesar and his legions rested in their own residences. In the next day, its the Ides of March, 15th of March. Which marks the religious observances throughout the Roman territory. It was also a notable day for the Romans as a settling of debts.

Caesar made his way to the Theatre of Pompey for a meeting with the Roman Senate, where he was stabbed to death by sixty (60) Senators.

The news of the assasination of Caesar at Rome has spread throughout the Roman territory. The far flung areas received the news a year later. This time, Britannia caught the news about Caesar's death.

Before Yingyi received the news, she already gave birth to Caesar's child few months before she received the grave news. Sadness envelopes the settlement.

In Egypt, the young mother Queen Cleopatra was also mourning. It was just days after her delivery when she received the news about Caesar's death. She gave birth a son, her first child. A legitimate son of Caesar.

"Don't worry my child, you will be a Pharaoh, a God, worshipped by all. You will be known as Caesarion. From Egypt, you will surpass your father Caesar and the world will be yours." Queen Cleopatra whispered to her first born.

Caesar died without knowing that Yingyi gave him a son. His adoptive son, Octavian, whom he believed to be the prophesied King of Rome, became his successor. All of Caesar's supporter rallied behind Octavian, who will be later named as Augustus.

This event opens the curtains for another Second Triumvirate formed by Octavian, Antony (general of Caesar) and Lepidus (rose to power in Hispania).

The second Triumvirate crushed all of Caesar's remaining enemies including Cassius and Brutus who orchestrated the assasination of Caesar. Roman Senate was reformed. Every enemy of Caesar was subdued mercilessly, and a Temple was built for Julius Caesar in Rome.

Just like the first Triumvirate, after their common goal was achieved, they fought for supremacy for Roman control. Octavian won and became the supreme owner of Rome. He reformed the republic to an Empire. Augustus became the founder and the first Roman Emperor. His first reform is the Pax Romana, peace throughout the Empire.
