The night was calm and peaceful and so were the hearts of the two people who were sitting near each other on the sofa in the middle of the room, the moonless night casted shadows in the room which had no lights lit up inside.
Yang and Shi sat together as Yang continued to pat her head softly as he heard her cry her heart out and after what felt like a lifetime to him, her soft cries were stopped.
When Shi realized the position they were in she tried to get out of it as conspicuously as she could but her subtle moments were still recognized by him. Yang decided to move away from her as he understood that she was not comfortable and had now realized the root of all her fears were born from the life she had as a child. He could not help but curse that idiot of a father of hers who had undeniably played the biggest role in it.
Shi was sitting silently as she stared at nowhere in particular as she went down her memory lane to remember if any of the people that she recognized as her family ever gave her the same feeling as the one she was getting from Yang at the moment. She still did not understood it but it seemed that her chaotic heart would always calm down whenever she was near him.
Ever since she lost her mother she had a hard time accepting people into her life and she knew it, but she could not help it because according to her theory, the person with whom she shared her blood with never did love her for no reason, there always had been a higher motive to his each and every action, so if the person who was supposed to love her and cherish her could go to such lengths just to get rid of her, how could she accept someone else to love her unconditionally, with no strings attached?
Yes, she agrees that the family and love that she always wanted, she was receiving it from the people who were now her family, if not by blood then surely by heart, they did love her as their own and so did she, but she could not figure it out but the feeling that Yang gave her was very different from the one she recieves from her brothers.
As Shi was busy in her thoghts she suddenly saw a coffee mug appear right in front of her face, as she looked up she saw the handsome face of Yang who was looking at her intently with hints of concern in his dark black eyes. He had already left to make some new hot coffee for her when he saw her looking all lost, her beautifull eyes dull without the usual spark which they contained and he hated seeing her like that.
When she did not take the mug from his hands, Yang softly called out to her,
"Shi...."
Upon hearing her name being called out so sweetly, Shi got out of her imaginations as she stared at him for a moment before taking the mug from his hands while muttering him a thanks.
On seeing her drinking her coffee slowly as she blowed it before taking a small sip, Yang slumped into the sofa besides her while still maintaining a distance so the two of them were not touching each other. When Yang noticed that Shi wanted to say something but was hesitating, he encouraged her to be honest with him and speak up,
"I can see that you want to say something but are hesitating Shi for which there is no need for. You can always be honest with me and tell me what you think all right. There is no need for you to watch your words around me."
Whe Shi heard him she involuntary let out a soft smile as his sweet words warmed his heart, the walls that she had built around her heart wold always crumble away whenever faced with Yang's sincerity.
To Yang, Shi's smile was like a small flower blooming in the winter as it warmed everything around it, including heart.
"No Yang I just wanted to know if I should continue or would you like to go to bed, it is pretty late you know."
On hearing her, Yang turned his head to look at the clock in the room and was surprised to see that it was around one in the night. He knew that he had to go to the office tomorrow to attend an important meeting but he also knew that it might be difficult for Shi to tell his story once again on another day and frankly he wanted her to shed all her tears today only as he promised himself that from now on he would always make her happy. So he nodded his head telling her to continue on.
And so Shi continued telling him but what she did not tell him was that he was the first person she shared her story with, she did not knew why but she felt like telling him about everything, her every problem, her every fear. She did not share it with her brohers and Grandpa because they were always worried about her and that is why she never showed them this weak side of hers.
