Chapter 36 - The Dragon Emperor

Once the light faded, Sarcony and Mo'er immediately moved into defensive position, holding their respective weapons. The last attack was strong enough to obliterate Luna, if it hit that is. Sarcony got a feedback that was worlds different from Luna's fluffy body. She was on guard all the while.

Luna was prostrating on the ground in her real form, trembling in fear and relief. There was a huge red wall made of something that resembled reptilian scales, each one as large as Sarcony, in front of them. The wall, as if alive, was slightly undulating in place. It didn't feel like an inanimate object.

The wall gave off a serene yet oppressive aura. Somehow, Sarcony observed a subconscious hostility towards the wall arise from the depths of her mind. <> (Mo'er) <> (Sarcony) Sarcony spat the words, overflowing with killing intent and rage.

A voice loud enough to shatter their eardrums rang out as innumerable red lasers attacked Mo'er. Sarcony, changing into a Jötunn, charged at the dragon. Unlike all the times prior to this, her height remained unchanged, but now, she was about three quarters the height of the coiled, resting Dragon. That was because it was the fully unleashed power of a Jötunn.

Finally being tall enough to fight the dragon clearly, Sarcony glared at the dragon. Sparks flew as Dragon's might(oppressive aura released by a dragon) collided with the fully released Aura of Do*%@#$c!, shaking the very dimension they were in. The space groaned and squealed. The ground under Sarcony cracked under the pressure.

The dragon lashed its tail at Sarcony which she grabbed with one hand, punching him with the other, which he received with his scaly body. Sarcony immediately flung his tail aside throwing him off balance, then punched him in the head, a blow that numbed her hand but did nothing to him.

The Dragon's eyes widened, activating his domain. The gravity of the space increased a hundredfold, squashing Luna to the ground. Mo'er, who was already in her Three legged Crow form, fell to the ground, unable to fly. Still, she launched a barrage of lasers of Solar aura at the Dragon, in vain.

Sarcony continued to move as normal, at the expense of higher energy consumption that overwhelmed her regeneration rate. The Dragon had launched a domain of multiple properties, one of which is , the others being &

Sarcony was gradually being overpowered by the Dragon Emperor who activated his Mana Domain. Sarcony was slowly depleting her energy reserves and stamina. None of her attacks were effective on the Dragon. She then recalled her staff and increased its size enough for the current her to wield.

Finally, Sarcony's attacks showed some result. Everytime the staff hit the Dragon, its scales cracked. After a couple of attacks, they actually broke off and fell, causing stinging pain he hadn't experienced in a long time. Roaring to the skies in pain, he was able to push Sarcony away from the sheer force it created. Sarcony stabilised herself by stabbing her staff into the ground.

She was already using 'Hands of Aten' to analyse and neutralise the dominion if possible, Aura of Do*%@#$c! to resist the Dragon's might, Law of Elements: Water to neutralise the flame based attacks, Abnormal restoration/recovery to counter , her solar aura to fuel Mo'er's attacks and keep her safe and the Oceanic staff as the primary weapon.

This was the first time Sarcony went all out counting from her debut at the academy. She was betting it all to survive. An unpredictable enemy whose mere thoughts translate into attacks, making it impossible to guess the attack and create counter measures while possessing a mind-boggling amount of mana and an equivalent amount of experience was the enemy of Sarcony.

A Dragon. Not an ordinary one but the Dragon Emperor himself.
