Alone, everyday, I was alone. At the parks no one played with me, at school no one talked with me, and at home my mother could never look at me.
A man came to my home to talk with my mother. My mother said, "They'll make you into a real superhero." When she said this she looked at me, for the first time since I was born my mother looked at me. It made me very happy.
A warehouse is where I was taken, to meet another man. He was pretty big with a shaved head. He had a very rough voice, like he drank a lot. He said he was from a bunch of different places, where he learned a lot of different martial arts. He also said very seriously, "I'm here because of your 'unique' power. Will you show it to me?"
I stood up and looked down to concentrate. Flashes of lightning going through and out my body in short bursts. Extending only to the tips of my toes and fingers. Its color was not the typical blue or bright white. It was bright purple, running in and out of my body, making me be able to do many things.
The man looks at me and says, "I may not be the number 1 hero, but I can guarantee I could kill him with my bare fists. Just because i'm not on TV and saving the country publicly to the world. Doesn't mean I don't have power. I've only got strength and every martial art to back it up. Now hit me with your best shot, Kid."
I race towards him, faster than the average man, I try to punch him in his face from the left. He catches me by my head and throws me with all his force towards the ground. He starts talking with a smile on his face, "If you were normal your spine would've fractured. It wouldn't matter anyway 'cause you could heal it in nearly an instant, couldn't you?"
I get up, wipe my face, and charge in serpentine movement, going side to side. To catch him off-guard I go for a faint with a left jab, but go behind to knee his back. Before it connects he quickly reacts and throws me again in the same way. He looks at my eyes fiercely and starts talking, "I will make you a fine hero, and I can already see your persistent. Train with me for 10 years and you'll beat any hero. Heck, maybe i'll pull a few strings and get you into the academy. But, it's not like you have much of a choice anyway, your mother sold you. If you don't meet expectations your thrown out like trash and terminated. Now let that sink and get ready for tomorrow, by the time your 17 you'll be nearly unstoppable." He starts walking towards the door he came in but pauses and speaks, "Oh and my name is Billy, it'll be a pleasure Jack."
Everyday after that was training, with the occasional "vacation day" he called it. We rarely talked that long and if we did I never spoke, I just nodded and shook my head. After each year we celebrated my birthday. The gift he brought me each time was a piece of gear or clothing that was too big to fit. He said one day I'll wear it as a costume for my "big debut."
5 years later Billy came in with a very important man, the reason I knew he was important was Billy told me to bow. The man then introduced himself, "Hi, my name is Kawashi. I'm the one who wanted to see your success as a hero. I came by to see your progress. I come from Japan the home of the academy. I do want you to get in as people all around the world get in to show their big debut. To do so, I need you to learn basic school education. So, every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday you'll be taking classes with personal tutors." With that he stepped back and sat on a chair that was brought in and looked at Billy.
Billy looked at me and nodded, and I knew it was a no limits fight. I posture up and go into a stance, my lightning flows in and out my body. Billy stomps the ground cracking it with each stomp and leaving a print of the bottom of his shoe. He charges forward with a faint and I dodge and counter with three punches to the body and I back off. I go in with a speed almost as fast as light, I hit a straight punch to his face sending him flying and twirling in the air. He catches himself midair and lands. I go in for another fast punch, but before I could touch him he grabs my arm and slams me to the ground. He then grabs my head and throws me toward the wall and I crash right into it. He charges toward me, I try dodging but he catches me by the arm again. He punches my side and switches hands to grab my head and smashing me to the ground. I see my blood on the floor as I lose my vision with sound of footsteps in the distance.
I awake to Billy sleeping with, a beer in his hand on the couch he bought, and a woman wearing glasses sitting on the same couch. She looks at me and seems to notice I've awoken and walks towards me. She starts to talk in a mono and serious tone, "Hello, I am Sarah, I will be one of your personal tutors and a on-site doctor as of today." I nodded and went to find food in the fridge Billy also bought. Sarah then tapped my shoulder and said, "I have made you food, as I will be your caretaker as well. Mr. Kawashi thought Billy wasn't enough." I nodded again and ate the food she made.
Billy woke up and we started training again as she wasn't there. My other tutors weren't interesting and I only kept Sarah in my mind, as I liked her the most. The rest of my 5 years was, more training and learning. Until 5 years came by and I celebrated my 17th birthday with Billy and Sarah. My last gift from Billy was gloves, as that was the final piece to my costume Billy made.
