Chapter 4 - Squad?

*Short Chapter*

"Atlas?"

Atlas froze as he heard the familiar voice. He slowly turned around to face the male voice. He looked at the boy up and down, his eyes widening in realization. "L-Leo?!" Atlas said filled with relief, could he possibly be someone he could trust?

"Yeah! Some crazy crap is going on here, and I have no idea what's going on!" Leo said flailing his arms in the air, clearly sounding frustrated.

Atlas chuckled, standing back up, gaining a bit of ease from his friend. He nodded "Yeah weird stuff is happening now. By any chance...did you, black out? Like pass out during the power outage?" Atlas asked him sounding a bit wary and hesitant. He looked at Leo waiting for his answer.

Leo paused for a second, scratching his head. He burst with a sudden realization, pointing his index finger at Atlas. "Yeah! I did actually. Why do you ask?" Leo asked him slightly tilting his head in confusion. Atlas sighed looking into the boys brown eyes. "You really don't know? Or is my family just crazy?" Atlas asked him as he folded his arms over his chest.

Leo was about to say something before he stopped himself. "Wait...crap. No I do remember now. It was the news. I was luckily home alone when it happened. When I woke up I remember seeing the news talking about not to hesitate to kill the ones who blacked out or something. So, I immediately got up and grabbed my stuff and left the house leaving my parents a note. So that's why I'm actually.....kinda running." He said rubbing the back of his neck.

Atlas sighed, full of relief. "Okay, well that's good cause I'm currently on the run too. I was literally about to be murdered by my own father a few minutes ago." He said chuckling nervously.

Leo's brown eyes widened as he heard what Atlas said. "Wait, So you blacked out too, and your own father decided to just murder you like-" he snapped his finger in front of him "-that?" Atlas nodded. "Yup just like that. Not giving any time to figure out what the actual bloody hell was going on." Atlas explained, clenching his fists thinking back at what had happened in his own home.

Leo's face showed a very surprised expression. "Jeez, must've been bad. You rarely ever say 'bloody hell', only when your like, in the worst mood possible or like something real crappy happened earlier, that's the only times you'd use those two very words." He said laughing a bit. Atlas just looked at his friend with a monotonous expression. "Wow, uh okay? Thanks for the explanation of that..." Atlas said shaking his head clearly confused at this boy in front of him.

Leo laughed "God, your so stiff and serious man. Lighten up a bit will ya?" Leo told the exhausted boy in front of him. Atlas looked at Leo with an 'Are you serious right now?' face. "Really, Leo? At a time like this you tell me to-lighten up?" Atlas said spreading his arms out waving them around "Look at what's going on right now! I can't lighten up with all this-" He said flailing his arms crazily by his side "-going on man. Get with it. We should probably be running right now!" Atlas said panting still a bit out of breath from running earlier.

Leo nodded, sighing tiredly. "Fine whatever, I guess your right. Let's get going." Leo said motioning with his arm for the other boy to follow him. He broke out into a light jog as he left the small town, Atlas right behind him.
