The sun is about to get swallowed by the horizon.
Another day would then pass by, with the same things happening over and over.
A day just like yesterday, the day before that, and then so on...
Nothing special, ordinary and mundane.
He could see himself doing everything again and again, even if his hair were to turn white.
Until his body broke down with time...
He, Damian Spade is already set for life, being blessed by a peaceful life where he could at least support himself.
A roof, and a stable job, what more could he ask for?
Even so, he couldn't help but find himself feeling empty.
He had always been a person who got bored easily.
He remembered trying some sports and other things back in the day only to give up on them after a few days, some doesn't even last a day, the most would be a week.
He was physically fit and have a mind on the sharper side so he would always manage to perform more than most beginners and learn faster, but he would then give up and quit prematurely making many of his teammates speechless.
During that time, he would picture by then what would be his future if he continued, the hardships and time wasted for the most likely possible outcomes. He would then have a cold face while picturing the ending and thought it was a waste of time and effort.
He was thinking by then what made him go out of his way to join such activities when he had always found such things bothersome.
He was always thinking about doing things peacefully and away from such a useless waste of time.
It was then he found out that he was feeling empty and probably wanted to fill the void with other types of fulfillment or so a person said.
By then, he would always spend his free time on books and games searching for that temporary feeling of fulfillment, he would find a new one every now and then. If he got bored with one, he would then just try to find another. The world is big and has lots of talented people, a lot of variety would be there every now and then.
It used to be okay, he used to somewhat feel fulfilled while playing or reading but now he was starting to switch between new ones faster, he was starting to get bored faster. It was clear that it was harder for him to feel fulfilled.
He is starting to feel the emptiness again much clearer.
Walking down the road, it seems like the sun was long gone, he continued to walk as he gets enveloped by the night mood; dark and cold.
...
After buying some things from a convenience store, he resumes his walk into his apartment, he was already near so it wouldn't take long.
Arriving in his apartment, he changed his clothes and began cooking dinner.
After having dinner and washing the dishes, he got nothing better to do so he began turning on his personal computer.
He started by spending some time reading some of the news online to satisfy his curiosity on the happenings around the world. After browsing for a while, he then starts playing a new rpg game that he had recently bought. He played for about an hour and got bored.
After spending a few minutes staring in absolute nothing he spent his next hours watching some videos online.
A while later when he began asking himself what the hell is he doing, he turned off his computer with an imaginary sigh and took off to take a hot bath.
...
Spending some time relaxing on the bath he checks the time and notices that it was already 10 pm, he got up, drained the tub, and brushed his teeth at the sink while glaring at the man with evil-looking eyes on the mirror.
After drying himself with a towel and being dressed in the sleepwear that he had prepared earlier, he goes straight into his bedroom and jumped on the bed...
*Sighhhh*
With his head facedown being swallowed by a fluffy pillow, he lets out a sigh of tiredness.
A minute later, he was starting to get suffocated so he turned around.
Looking at the ceiling above, he felt that it best represents what he was currently feeling about himself right now.
With the lights off where everything is dark, the ceiling would seem empty... but if you turned on the lights, you would then realize that it doesn't just seem empty cause it really 'is' empty.
He got annoyed and stopped thinking about it, he closed his eyes so he could just sleep and get ready for tomorrow.
But as he was trying to sleep, he could feel himself falling, it was another hypnagogic jerk
'Shit! Not again, I hate this feeling!'
But instead of the usual feeling of instant, the feeling of falling was taking longer than usual, and it really seemed like he was falling for real so he was startled awake.
And as he opened his eyes, he was in for the shock of his life. What he is currently seeing is so magical, he would find it really difficult to describe it into words.
The surroundings are so bright and full of colors.
He was like in the middle of a lively aurora inside a rainbow stardust whirlpool while falling eternally.
He tried to look below because he doesn't know where and why he is falling and he is starting to feel anxious, but despite trying his best, he couldn't move any other part of his body besides his eyes.
He could only give up and enjoy the scenery together with his heartbeat which was starting to beat louder.
As he was about to put his focus into his surroundings again, he could feel his fall accelerating so fast until it was already into the point that should've been impossible for him to withstand. Looking around, not just the fall but everything around him started accelerating so fast including the movement of the aurora and the whirlpool.
Together with the surroundings, he could feel his heartbeat accelerating to an impossible level, at the same time it was also getting so loud it was like he was holding his heart besides his ears.
It was like everything was a prequel to his death, and he felt like he would likely smash into something so hard that he would even break down into atomic levels.
Right then as he closed his eyes as the surroundings get brighter in a flash to the point of blinding, it seemed like he regained his control on his mouth as he began shouting for his dear life.
"Ahh!!!..."
After losing his voice by shouting his all, he slowly began losing his consciousness...
