Mark nodded his head, "Indeed I chose my own happiness over the family's well being. It is my shame. But, I don't regret it! Lydia and I have discussed it, Chris' daughter should have just turned 10 months old a few days ago, correct?" Chris Clifton was his best friend growing up, and brother to the woman he was supposed to marry instead. Chris knew of the truth behind the matter, his sister was a lesbian and Mark was simply trying to help. They were supposed to take the fall out together, but at the last minute Chris' sister backed out and left Mark to take all the anger, hate, and shame. Lydia knew of the matter of course which was why she was so mad with the Gin family. Everyone pretended not to know, because that's how 'polite' society worked. Then Chris' sister had died a few months later, during a extreme outing and everything had been swept under the rug.
Chris and Mark kept in contact in secret, neither family would approve of the situation if they were to know. Chris and Mark had made a pact to marry their children before his sister had died, in lieu of his sister. However, after she died tensions were high and Mark was disowned after marrying Lydia.
"You think Chris will agree to marrying his daughter to this child when you can't even tell him the positives of doing so? Why would he allow his daughter to marry Eisen without proof believing he's a lower lifeform?" At this point Eisen had a pretty thorough understanding of the situation. His parents had hoped he would step in sooner but could only shake their heads wryly after they realized he may trust them, but it wasn't blind. Eisen wanted to know why he was agreeing to marry a girl who probably couldn't match up with him. 'The sins of a father', Eisen thought to himself "Chis will agree to marry his daughter to me, and if you aren't as stupid as you are behaving at the moment you will do everything in your power to make sure the elders back down." Eisen calmly stared at the old man whom he found rather amusing. From Eisen's stand point Andrew was merely blustering while trying to get the most benefits from doing what he already wanted to do anyway, which was to bring his son and his family back into the fold.
Andrew was rather shocked, even after hearing Mark's explanation about Eisen he didn't truly believe it. He was banking on Mark's and Chris' Relationship when they were younger to leverage the elders into rescinding their assassins and mending the bridges. He knew full well even if Eisen was an idiot Chris would marry his daughter off to Eisen and the Gins, it was win-win-win. Now that Eisen had stepped out Andrew couldn't bluster any longer. He was forced to accede with decorum.
"Very well, but it will be up to you to convince him!" Andrew couldn't help getting one last lick him, he knew he had been played by a 3 day old infant and it didn't feel very good. But, Eisen surprised him again, "Deal, but you deal with the elders and their bullshit. I hate politics, and if they come after me or mine again, there won't be a Gin family outside this house!" Eisen smiled in an evil manner that was rather reminiscent of a wolf who had already lamed his prey, stalking around the wounded animal while it breathed it's last.
Andrew finally realized just how conniving Eisen could be, and thought to himself 'He says he doesn't like politics, but he played me like a violin, and I think I rather like him' "Deal, but how will I explain your speech if I can't speak of your unlimited ability?" Andrew truly was at a loss here. "Simply tell the elders, that Mark was working with the government to test a new evolution process but it turned out too strong, Silver here is to make sure I don't conquer the world since it was part of the contract the government would have nothing but monitoring rights, and the deal was signed within the Private Government since they were the ones who initiated the research in hopes of new blood to combat ever evolving skills and talents. Hence, no one can touch me unless I go 'insane' and start taking over. This both keeps the elders out of my way politically and makes them want me in the family for the new genes I may pass on. But, I have one condition. I absolutely will not marry Chris' daughter unless it is her choice. Everyone can try to convince her, but no one can blackmail, coerce, or force her into it. I find arranged marriage to be idiotic, and if it wasn't for father and mother's position in the family I'd never consider it. So it must 100% be her own choice." Eisen was very firm on this point.
All other interests aside he would not be attached to someone whom he could not trust, love, and be loved by. He had enough of a loveless marriage filled with lies in his past life and did not want a repeat.
Andrew found this to be rather appropriate considering Eisen had shown intelligence on equal level with most adults. He didn't want to tie Eisen's potential down with someone who couldn't or wouldn't reciprocate appropriately. If she didn't want to be involved with Eisen, or was at least willing to learn to love him it would only be detrimental to Eisen in the long run. And, if he was sure of one thing after seeing today; it was that Eisen would go further than perhaps anyone had ever gone in history.
"Give me a few hours to handle the elders. It'll be handled by diner, call Chris and arrange a diner, We'll discuss the details then." Andrew immediately left, he had a lot of work to do, and very little time to do it in. In this world this flew by quickly, changing, evolving, ever effervescent. It felt full of vigor, until one went to grab it and found that it slipped through ones fingers, or popped and shattered a beautiful dream. One had to be quick and intelligent to grab anything in the world. What is new one day, will be outdated tomorrow.
Eisen couldn't be bothered to pay attention at dinner, the girl Chloe was cute, and with his experience as an 'old soul' he could tell she would turn out to be beautiful and intelligent as she grew older. Chloe was already ahead of the other children her age, with regards to language and immaterial concepts she excelled. After the situation was explained to her, undisguised interest was sparked in her eyes.
Even though Eisen had agreed to the arranged marriage he hadn't truly believed there would be someone so young that would agree to such a thing. It was way beyond his ken. It left him with a quandary. If he was really on the road to Godhood getting married would only hurt her, himself, and possibly his entire family in the long run. 'Mos, is there a way to share part of the Mosaic System benefits with her. I doubt I could clone the system, but perhaps allow her to break her limits as well or get increases in leveling up?'
*It is possible, but it is a locked function, Details have been hidden. In order to unlock details 1 ascension is required, and in order to unlock the function 1 rebirth or 150 ascension points are required. The only available information is that it can only be used once, and would lock two individuals together across all time; effectively making their souls bound and immortal.*
'Sounds heavy. Is there some kind of way to know for sure that it is applicable. Or perhaps test the compatibility of two peoples souls?'
*What part of 'only available information' is difficult for you to understand. If you're that interested in it level the fuck up. I've had it up to here with your lazy, whiny, entitled personality. Have you never heard 1% talent, 99% hard work? No wonder you were so damn mediocre in your last life. I'm starting to think there wasn't an issue and that's just how you are. Lazy and stupid.*
'... you know I have feelings right? That hurts'
*Who cares, if you don't like it, change it. Notice you didn't say it wasn't true? Fix it otherwise even if you're bound to someone beautiful and intelligent for the rest of eternity you'll only hurt her. Bastard.*
'Fine, fine, FINE! You're right, I'm scared to succeed so I just don't try, at least that way I can pretend I didn't fail. It's your job to point me the right way, what should I do.'
*Your Str and Spd stats are still subpar, your new found fiance could kill you easily, how do you call yourself a man. Get stronger quicker, work until you feel like nothing you do can increase your skill anymore. Then ascend, reset your body and work harder to get there quicker. Quit complaining, and stop looking for short cuts.*
*Hidden Mission Triggered: Raise all Stats to 15 within 1 week.
Reward: 250 Ascension Points, P2P Function Unlocked, 1 Ascension Scroll, Mosaic Martial Technique. Fail: Death. Mission Starting in 24hrs, Eisen can start mission early by leveling up any stat.*
'*sigh* Thank you Mos. I needed that kick in the ass.'
"Silver, I need a full set of microfiber nanoweights, nutrient solution, 3 complete language sets, and a gravity chamber capable of 15g minimum delivered by tomorrow morning. Believe me when I say I will absolutely die if you can't accomplish this."
Silver was startled at first, he couldn't believe a 3 day old infant would need these things these soon especially the book sets. Most serious adult trainers would use these two seemingly simple items to maximize stats and train in hand to hand combat. After thinking about it for a second, Silver clicked to the fact that this probably had something to do with being a reincarnate. Being a bit of an open secret Eisen didn't have to worry about people knowing within his close circle. Chloe looked a little startled. Being intelligent, and having 10 months of being here on earth she knew what those things were used for. She just didn't know what her infant fiance wanted them for. She could tell he was serious about it though, so after tugging her father's sleeve she turned to him one last time for the night, and muttered "Good luck!" While blushing adorably. "Thank you, I'll see you again in a week. Please think about this arranged marriage, it may seem terribly romantic, but it is something that is difficult and painful. Make sure you won't regret it. Father, Mother, I need to go rest now. Tomorrow I will need to go into intensive training. If I fail I am not exaggerating when I say I will die.
Eisen was perhaps for the first time in his life serious about becoming more than mediocre. He wasn't sure what might come of it. But, he was sure that if he didn't keep stepping forward he would stagnate and be swept away by the rivers of life once again. He could keep moving forward or give up and be nothing but flotsam thrown whichever way the river pleased as it slowly tore his body apart leaving him to drown and die in a calm deep pool at a bend somewhere.
He was determined not to be flotsam floating with the current, but a predator swimming wherever he damn well pleased. With that thought in mind he drifted off to sleep after drinking again. He knew full well that the next 7 days would hurt and perhaps cripple him if he was lazy or negligent in his attention during the training. He had come up with his workout plan after observing Silver work out yesterday, and adding his memories from his previous life. The idea would always be the same as long as the muscle groups were the same. He may be able to become a lot stronger, but that meant a lot more pain as well since he was doing what should've taken at minimum 20 years to do naturally he would be compressing over 1,000x at a ratio of 1040 to 1 to be exact.
The microfiber nanoweights were shape changing and had gravity inscriptions to adjust the weights. At a minimum of 1oz they could theoretically weigh up to 1 kiloton or 2 million kilograms, but no human had ever been able to take the weight that high. There were two issues with the weight being that high.
Firstly no human on earth had ever been strong enough to handle the weight. At that amount the cells in the body would legitimately be shredded into their composite elements and compressed at unbelievable levels, in one case a genius had tried to use these weights to break past his limit of str and had imploded as soon as the weights went max. His implosion created a gravity field and massive amounts of heat were drawn into his elemental mass, it wasn't at the level of a atomic bomb, but it was big enough to destroy a few square kilometers.
Since that time most units were bought with limiters affecting the max gravity the device could generate, only agencies and government entities were allowed to buy the original devices. The second issue was that even if you could withstand that amount of weight, which was a huge if… The earth under your feet could not, you would end up sinking an unknown distance before the compression under you limited further descent.
This particular issue had never been fully tested as a safe fail was designed during the original creation that prevented the use of the device as long as it was not in direct contact with the contracted individual and the individual had to be alive to maintain the contract. In other words, as soon as the user died, the device would turn off. It was hoped that by immediately turning the device off there might be hope of recovery in the case of over use. After all who was so into science that they'd literally commit suicide just to test how far they'd fall. Maybe some mathematician somewhere had done the math with averages, but they'd never released the information. Maybe the government silenced the information to prevent mayhem. A lot of maybes and theories if Eisen was honest. He wasn't completely sure about the use of such devices. But, if he did have a plan of attack with regards to the training he would need to undergo. He also believed Silver could rectify any insufficiency that his training plan included. One had to walk before they could run, in his case, he would need to crawl before he could stand.
The next morning the items were delivered before Eisen woke up, along with the things he had requested a few more were included. Including a doctor, two nurses, a masseuse, and a handful of monitoring and recovery equipment. Eisen let out a sigh of relief 'Seems like Silver will be a good assistant. I was right to trust him with this. Maybe I won't die after all. Hey, Mos, are there any mini-missions that I can activate to recover faster after breaking my body in training?'
*It is possible but I would suggest using your ascension points to heal instead, you can use points to revitalize your cells in a much more efficient way than these machines can. But, it is only recommended at the moment, the cost of such a thing is based off your stats. Basically your total stats divided by 10 is the cost to heal. It will not round, but you can chose to do a partial full heal instead of wasting the points. Basically you would be able to do a full heal with 1.23 points but will not round so it would require 2 points. You can currently chose to heal 81% of your injuries at 1 full point. The option is left up to you. I would recommend, healing naturally at night even if your body can be healed mental fatigue will not be remedied by the system healing your body. You will still need to sleep. Also the system can extract and purify negative side effects from most common drugs, however you will build up a immunity over time. I would suggest using any such drugs now since you are just starting out. They will not be helpful in future ascensions or rebirths and the p2p function is much more powerful anyway.*
'Thanks Mos, I appreciate the help. I know I said it before, but sorry for being a dick recently. I've been having a hard time adjusting to all this. I didn't mean to take it out on you.'
*No problem, good luck.*
"Silver, what options do we have available for stat enchantments, growth adjusters, or fatigue removers? I plan to sleep at night from 8p to 6am the next 7 days, and I have a way to ignore the side effects of those drugs. But, I need to become stronger quickly."
"We have basic steroids, some muscle relaxants, and fatigue suppressors. They all have minor side effects, but there are no such things as growth adjusters. You will have to grow up the all natural way if you can't affect it yourself. By the way, these four people have a general understanding of your physique. They are bound by unbreakable oaths, and have volunteered to be here. They will stay with you until you release them. None of them have families, and understand that they are under you and not me. They won't listen to me at all unless it is in direct conjunction with an order you have given them. Think of them as the most honest, loyal subordinates you could ever have. As for why they would chose this; well they're curious and bored… I'm not sure I can understand it, they always did say genius and insanity were separated by a fine line. But in short terms, they are no longer members of the Private Government, and the perks are very good. So, just do what you need to." Silver was very curious as to how things were going to proceed. Honestly he was a little jealous of the four new team members. He knew that one day soon he'd be replaced if Eisen didn't agree to him staying. He wanted to stay and experience Eisen's rise first hand.
"Let's get started then, I have 1 week to bring all my stats to 15 the average of an adult, or I will die. If I can get further than that I will be in a much better position. Whether you stay or leave, will be decided after 7 days. If you have any questions speak now." Eisen was anxious to get started. His clock had started when he woke up this morning, somehow his Spd stat had increased to an even .06 through the night. The doctor was the only one to speak, "We've been briefed you have some special powers and circumstances. We also know you can't or won't expound upon them at this point, however we need to know where you are now. And we need to know what your plans are so we can work best around your plans or let you know where your plans lack, or are impossible."
Eisen thought about it for a minute and agreed that it was reasonable. "Currently I am at Str .06, Spd .06, Int 12.15, I have a way to amplify my healing in a way that you can never touch, also getting rid of side effects for common drugs such as performance enhancers. However there is a limit to how often I can use that power, and it isn't effective to fully heal myself. If I heal myself currently I could do so 20 times, but as I become stronger I will be able to do it less and less. If I have 15 in stats across the board I could do it 4 to 5 times max. Assuming I didn't heal at all until that point. We will need to figure out a good combination of the two. I am thinking using all the enhancing drugs you have currently and working until failure, then using another round of drugs and healing myself, continuing until I gain an immunity to the drugs which I imagine will be sometime tomorrow or the day after at the latest. During the evening I will rely on you to test my functions, and heal me in whatever ways you have available. I will need to be as close to 100% every morning, and I will need you to stop me every evening whenever you think I have hit a level you can heal me from in the morning while making sure I can study new languages as well. During the night when you treat me I will study before sleeping." Eisen had given them his bare bones plan, and left them to come up with the finer details. "Common sense says that everything you just said is completely impossible. You'd kill yourself before you saw any improvement, however we have been told common sense doesn't apply to you so much. More like it detours around you, and hides if it can't find an alternative route to take…We'll do our best to make sure your goal is accomplished, it seems reasonable. All that's left is inrodu…" "Not to be a dick, but I'm in a rush and have no clue if you're staying. We can talk about your names if you last the week. Till then do everything in your power to make sure this is successful. I'm kinda guessing you can't handle to consequences of me dying. Honestly, I appreciate your willingness to be here, but I'd rather work with a capable dick than a nice idiot. I need to have breakfast, I'll be back in 10 minutes if you want to change anything have a new plan by then."
"..." All four of the newcomers were shocked by Eisen's attitude. "Little monster indeed." They didn't have much more to say on the matter. He wasn't wrong, and they had the same mindset anyway. They were just indoctrinated to being nice to infants so when he was brutally honest it came as a shock. Silver on the other hand was rolling on the ground laughing his ass off, he had learned early that Eisen had no patience for idiots and ass kissers. He just hoped everything worked out. He liked the sly 'old soul' and besides no one here could handle the fall out of Eisen dying. They'd probably puke blood if they found out this whole situation was the result of an A.I. in a fit of pique. And so Eisen's seven days of hell started quietly in the basement.
