5,000 years had passed since she woke up from that unfortunate day.
She could remember everything even her previous life, especially that day she arrived in this mysterious world.
The most unfortunate thing was she woke up as an orphan kid… again. Every misfortune was an equal fortune for her. She was adopted, again. This time by a grand master independent mage. Nobody knows his name or where he came from. He told her to call him "Papa".
He taught her everything he knew. From magic to house cleaning. She became an all rounder apprentice. Self sufficient to the point she can survive on her own, even at a very young age. They took care of each other. It was one of the happiest moments of her new life. It became comfortable that she was worried it wouldn't last. Actually it lasted a millennium when she calculated using the earth calendar. One thing she noticed was that she was slowly aging or more like stop aging at all.
She asked her foster father about it. He said it had been always like this. She found out he was 45,117 years old. He doesn't even look like an old bag of bones to her, more like his mid 30's.
'Lucky bastard!'
He did explained about it. It's because of the place of where they were and food they ate. He mentioned that his late master was so old, he lost count of the age, experienced so many eras that he was always out of fashion, and seen empires appear and disappear in a blink of an eye.
She asked what happened to his master. He went quiet, and then told her he died because of love. He tried saving his great great great… great grandson from being killed.
He reminded her that they may be immortals but once they sacrifice their true life essence to revive someone who was meant to die as fate dictates it, they were as good as dead. He made her promise to never give her life to others regardless, and to be selfish at times.
She was peeved with how his foster father thinks. She couldn't understand him at all.
She woke up one day and her foster father was gone and left a letter.
[Go out and see the world. I've taught you everything I know. Sorry I left without saying anything. Now I really know why my Master… gave up his life. I still think he was naive but he's a good man. Make your adventure... Make me proud Sofia, my child.]
It made her all misty while reading his letter, clutched her stomach from holding in, she thought, 'You have the most ugliest handwriting I've seen, Papa. Hahaha, thank you though.' She was alone again but this time she's going to enjoy her life. She was with him for a millennium, it was enough, really enough.
She worked her butt off to make herself successful. It was her time to shine.
It took her 4 millenniums to build her name and empire. She was at her highest peak. She made friends and enemies which was normal, even in her previous life.
One thing never change aside from her looks was she's still single. She had everything but someone to share and love with.
She had life long friends and befriended their offsprings. They also help her out and recommend bachelors that may suit her taste. From humans to Demi-gods, and even elves. She had tons of suitors but not one made her heart jump.
'I'm hopeless even in this new world. I've seen very good looking men especially those dark elves they have biceps to die for and those glossy chocolate skin. I want chocolate… from earth. Sigh, I missed earth. The food and technology… My smartphone… Sigh, Why can't I find a decent guy in this world!?... Well, I can't help but compare them to my former boss. Why am I still think of him!? He was the reason why I died, and the reason why I'm here. Though I'm also grateful to have this second life. So thank you boss!' She thought out loud.
It made her remember her life back home. She already passed the life span of human beings. They maybe bones and ashes now. She was wondering if his boss ever got married.
'With his attitude, he died alone I guess.' She was still bitter with what happened to her. She could only blame him for everything, it was free anyway.
"Goddess Sofia! Someone is here to see you but he doesn't have an appointment. I told him that he could not meet you unless he sends us a letter of request and wait in line for a few months. I wanted to punish this lad for being disrespectful but his status cannot be ignored!" Said Sofia's current assistant, Cassandra. She's the great great great grand daughter of her very first assistant on her road to success. Very serious and loyal to boot like her great great great grandma.
"Come on, Cass. Stop calling me that. You're making me feel like a relic... Oh wait, I am one. Hahaha." She heartily laughed at her corny joke.
She couldn't remember when it started; them calling her 'Goddess'. She knew she had a very good memory, like really really good one... unless she blurted out some nonsense while she was drunk. It happened once, it scared her shitless. Hoping she didn't do something stupid like... obliterate some kingdom or killed someone because she was annoyed they grind their teeth. She's been sober for... a very long time.
"I'm being serious here, Goddess!" Cass couldn't take her jokes. She just like to pull her leg, it was fun to tease her assistant. She wanted Cass to relax, like take some chill pill or something. But Cass was hell bent on being serious and professional, like she care about it.
"Whatever, you were saying about someone with a big ass title wanted to talk to me? Are you sure it's for me? Are you getting married or something?" She teased again.
"SOFIA!" She knew Cass was mad. Never talk about marriage to a fellow single lady, they tend to be a little touchy about it except her, she guess.
"Alright, alright! Sorry! I'm serious now. Why can't this person cannot be ignored?" It piqued her curiosity somehow.
"He has a status of a Hero, my Goddess!" Cass answered.
"WHAT!? Why didn't you say so! Come on. I wanna see this badass mo... I mean this person immediately."
What really shocked her was not the job title but the face of that hero in front of her.
'HELL NO! Mother f... They look alike!!!'
It was a replica of her former boss. Freaking-Danny-boy-Ken! Her bane of existence male freaking boss. The one and only male in her life that still bothered and invaded her mind even being in a different world.
Cass and the hero were wearing confused faces. Sofia's face was hard to describe. 'Did she ate something bad this morning' kind of look, or 'Conjuring something... evil!?'
The hero brave himself and step forward, and made a knightly type of gesture.
"Ahem... Goddess Sofia. I'm Lord John Von Leopold VII from the Kingdom of blah blah blah blah..."
Sofia only heard him yapping where he came from, what he was, what he did, blah blah blah.
It was enough to made her really bored to death. But she tolerated somehow because it had this nostalgic feeling. She really missed her workaholic boss.
'Yup splitting image, even the way he talks and moves. Damn it! I need a drink, badly!'
She could not take it anymore and interrupted the poor guy.
"Excuse me, you talk too much. Immediately state your intention."
"Ahh..." John was stumped. He never met a woman like her, and not even interested on his looks or even flirt with him. He was offended but he kept it to himself. He knew Sofia was a person... or a being not to be trifle with. The history of this woman made the most powerful and bravest man alive scared silly even him up to this date.
"That's who she is. You'll get used to it, kind Sir." Cass chirp in. She felt sorry for the hero who tried his best to be presentable.
He told them that the new Demon Lord is at rise, and its Demon Army. They need to be dealt with as soon as possible since it is still in the midst of growing. They have to travel immediately since it would take weeks or even months just to the location where the Demon Lord is hiding.
"Why didn't you say so!? They just sprout like mushroom or like freaking cockroaches that are hard to kill. I've already dealt with them a hundred times... wait that's 178 this time. Cass get ready, I'm going to do some stretching!" Sofia enthusiastically said.
"Oh, just the three of us is all we need. Cass make sure record my fight. I'll make sure to publish it all year round. Hahaha!" Sofia boastfully declared.
She had a habit of recording her fights. She collected 177 stones, all from fighting every Demon Lord that appeared. These were just for bragging rights and scaring the other kingdoms shitless, it keeps them on their toes. She was bored and its the only closes technology from her previous world.
"I'm ready, Goddess!" Cass looked excited, but for another reason.
'This is a good opportunity.'
She was told by her grand parents and parents, it was the most exciting thing that happened in their lives. She remembered her grandma told her, "Make sure you don't blink your eyes or you'll missed everything!"
The clueless hero was not aware what was happening or what they're talking about.
Sofia knows where the Demon Lord usually settles, it was same place. She bet all her saving both from this world and her previous world. She was never wrong.
She conjured a spell, and said "Teleport". Went they go to the land of nightmares and horror.
