Chapter 2 - Ch.2 The Dragon Emperor

He watched from a faraway mountain south of the battle. A black dragon was descending from the skies, and he could now feel an immense amount of power coming from the female warrior. This man sat cross-legged on the rocky mountain top as he observed the battle by sensing the flow of energy as they moved throughout the field — both hands were resting on his knees. His mid-length spiked white hair shuffled in the cold wind. He wore no upper body garment just a single long white pants with the words GOKAGE painted red going down on both sides, decorated with purple and yellow flames going up on both sides. He wore a beaded chain with the symbols of each element painted in its respectful color. Fire-red, water-blue, earth-green, wind white, But these were no ordinary sized beads; each bead was about 5 inches in diameter. -Such power. I can no longer resist the urge to see for myself who this woman, is I must go.- He thought with wonder as he had never felt such power in a long while.

A power capable of matching his, Zachael the Dragon Emperor, King of Flames, he had spent his entire life training and fighting any who would challenge him. Reaching the pinnacle of his strength in his continent and conquering it, he decided to travel the world and conquer as much as he can. However, this was boring and lacked amusement; instead, he placed his focus on the dragon lands.

Dragons one of the few beasts known to have a power level of sage status and above also said to be the only ones to exceed the legendary level. -They could prove to be entertaining.- It was his thoughts as he traveled the seas to their homeland.

A journey not many sane men would take. But he was no ordinary man. Mastering all elements along with their sub-elements at the age of 20 was quite a feat. Becoming a grand-sage at 25 and taking over the throne after defeating the previous Dragon kings army single-handedly.

It took him ten years to conquer the dragons a mission he started at the young age of 26. He was now able to summon any dragon he defeated which was almost all of them on the Dragon Continent. Only a few he did not find or did not find interesting, so he did not duel with them. The more prideful dragons left the continent looking for an island to rule. Being the Dragon Emperor doesn't mean the dragons will politely bow to you. You still needed to show them who's more powerful.

Now the power in front of him felt familiar. While on the Dragon Continent after almost ten years it appeared the first heiki he felt after arriving on one of the isles in the continent. An island so cold he had to summon the power of his spirit to keep warm.

He traveled the island searching for the power he felt on arrival. As he searched, he realized that there was no other being on the island except for what he felt and him. It was when he came upon a cave hidden in the mountains and entered it. There he saw it, a beautiful black dragon lying asleep on the icy plains. Its wings pressed against its body. A single white gem in the center of its forehead, he called for the creature to wake and to battle him. He was defeated with a single blast of heiki. He had no choice but to leave until he achieved more power. In his eighth year, he had reached the peak of the legendary status after constant battles with these dragons and taming the elemental fire dragon was also found on the island to its own as well. Dwelling in lava a dragon made just for him. He was able to defeat and capture this dragon in his seventh year. When he came back to search for the ice dragon, it was no longer there. He lingered around the island and trained himself in the cold for the next two years. However, the Dragon did not return he decided to leave and go back to his home.

Now he felt that same power again. A beast he had wanted from the moment he laid eyes upon it.

----------------

"We don't have a chance against that thing my king," fear could be heard in the lord's voice as he began to speak, "we must leave now!"

What stood before them they could only comprehend as a demon. The heiki of lady Liana as grown exponentially. Standing their in fear for their lives as the lady's words rang through their minds -" ...leave now and leave with your life. Fight, and this time, I won't be so merciful."-

Now realizing the difference in power between them, a blade master and a newly awakened Shaman Knight. There were three types of warriors, a Shaman knight, an Elemental Warrior, and the Blademasters. A Shaman Knight was someone with complete control over the spirit within a spirit blade and able to control their heiki freely, and also had the power to communicate with spirits. An Elemental warrior was someone who has mastered heiki and freely manipulates all forms of heiki, allowing them to manage the elements freely.

Then earth beneath them began to freeze, and as it froze, they realized that their armor was freezing from the sheer cold where they stood. A look of horror appeared on their face realizing that they would freeze to death. They began pleading for their lives, but their plea fell on deaf ears. Liana continued her slow stride towards them, leaving small spikes of ice where she stepped. Her eyes cold and emotionless, her sword held to her side, the thin blade surrounded by a flow of mist. Then she stopped narrowing her gaze upon a figure. Someone was standing behind the king and his arch knight.

He stood casually a few feet from where the king and his lord stood, hands resting on his hips, head leaned back looking up at something only he could see, unaffected by the cold of her Ice spirit and her dragon. Her eyes narrowed as her focused shift to the figure who began to walk forward in the same position he stood. Each step he took melted the snow into an evaporating mist. -Who is this person.- He was able to bear the cold from her Ice Field was something she has never come across. She watched as the mist escaped from the ground dissolved into the air. His white hair ever-flowing in the wind, a body filled with scars from countless battles she assumed. The sword sheathed at his side gave off a mysterious aura - A spirit blade? Is he a blade master? -

"Oye!" he had a strange smile on his face as he spoke. There was something about it that caused Liana to tense up and immediately took a defensive stance. This caused him to smile even more. "Hmm...Why so tense?" he teased. He was now standing in between the two who had challenged her. They looked at him with both fear and confusion. "Help us and all your wishes will come to fruition oh great warrior!" the king managed to force out his words. Zachael looked down at the king and then the knight before speaking "Pests." with a scornful look. Before either of them could react, the dragon emperor had already separated their heads from their body. Blood sprayed through the air, and their bodies fell limp to the ground. The red blood ever so vibrant against white snow and ice. "I've heard much about you, my Lady. I have traveled seven continents in the past five years, and you're the first to pique my interest. Please don't disappoint." he spoke the truth but never expected to find the ice dragon here.

"Who are you?"

"I am just a man looking for someone to entertain me. Your legend reaches even my domain, and I seek to test that power they speak of. I see you have the ice dragon in your possession, a beast I have failed to defeat the first time I came across it, and you have it, this alone entices me. I shall not hold back." he then released a surge of energy mixed his base heiki. Liana watched the flame-based aura surrounded him and ate away at her ice. She could feel the intensity of his power from where she stood. Indeed he was a blade master, looking in his eyes they were green and had specks of red going around in a circular motion. He withdrew his sword, and her dragon Climica gave out a loud roar. This cause Zachael to smile before speaking. "Summoning of dragons Emperor's Call." upon doing so, the sky distorted and a portal was formed, and from this portal, a multitude of wyverns appeared.

"Kill them all, Climica!"

With the command issued Climica took to the skies, she was more than twice the size of the wyverns that challenged her, and she took them apart mercilessly ripping their heads, wings, and limbs from their body, freezing some with her ice breath which caused them to fall to the ground and crumbled to pieces. At the same time, her dragon flew to the sky, Liana charged at her new opponent and slashed at him with her sword. He dodged, but she followed with a vertical slash, and he dodged again, she followed with multiple strikes he managed to avoid for a while before having to block and push back Liana and going on the offensive. Liana could only block, each time their blades connected and a shock wave was released, blowing away the pieces of the wyverns that fell from the sky. Liana retreated a few feet from Zachael a released one of her attacks, "Icicle Storm" and around her ice spears about 3 feet long began to form. As soon as they formed completely, she sent them forward at incredible speed a Zachael. She was able to fire off over 200 spears within a few seconds, leaving a cloud of mist where he stood.

The ground around Liana suddenly rose up and clasped itself together to crush her in the middle. However, she was able to put a barrier before being crushed. Then ground beneath her then shot her up into the sky to her surprise. Regaining her focus just in time to see the multiple boulders coming at her "Tempest Wind!" she yelled as she swung her hands through the air summoning a gust of razor-sharp wind slicing the blocks in multiple pieces. The pieces of rocks then stopped mid-air and turned into sand that wrapped around her, again she managed to conjure a barrier before being crushed. With a flick of his hand the sand around Liana pulled her to the ground with incredible force leaving a crater where it hit the ground, he held out his left hand and started to move his fingers. The field separated as giant roots burst forth attacking Liana. -So he can use multiple elements at his will, even sub-elements, but I sense his base fire, it has to be how else can he withstand my ice field.- Liana was dodging and slicing the roots that came at her, whenever she tried to get close more roots wood form pushing her back. - In that case- "Ice Wilderness!" The ground instantly froze over, and a wall of mist was formed concealing her.

Zachael narrowed his eyes -What is she playing at. Hmm? What's this I feel a chill? Hmmm.. It's been a while since I felt a cold.- Zachael looked around and used his abilities to see his surroundings, by doing so, he saw that Liana had reduced the distance of the ice field to a smaller surrounding. - I see the ice field is released when she summons her spirit from her blade. This explains why her dragon appeared upon her entering the Awakened form.- While thinking, he used his ability to increase the temperature to get rid of the mist and chill he was feeling. He looked to the sky and could no longer see the dragons fighting but hear the roar of the ice dragon and the cry of his wyverns. -The dragon sensing the change in its master uses its ability to open a portal and summon itself to protect her. Incredible, what connection they have. How long has she been its master for this to occur. It has to be before I even met it. But then hadn't it returned to the island.- His thoughts were interrupted, and he opened his eyes wide with disbelief and at the same time with joy. What he was Liana preparing a massive energy blast that appeared white with a blue hue around it. - I see now; you used your ability to create a new home for him to keep him close and avoid anyone trying to capture it. You probably had it at a young age, or it was passed down in your family from generation to generation.

Zachael was right Climica had been in their family for over a hundred years. She was still a young dragon but an extremely rare dragon. The ice dragons are said to be of mythical status which is why he waited two years for it to return. To have it by his side along with the fire dragon would have made him impossible to defeat.

The moment he saw Liana charging her blast with her attack was the moment she released it, and he smiled blissfully "Roar, King of Flames Nerion." He spoke to the spirit of his sword and the moment he spoke the ground around him for about 4 meters became magma, and a barrier surrounded him. Liana's attack met the barrier head-on, and there was an enormous explosion that expanded about 100 meters due to the blast radius being contained by her will. "Come forth, dragon of flames Kimori."

The sky became a fire red, and everything went silent. All the wyverns flew back to the portal they once came as if sensing that something terrible was about to happen. The black dragon gave off low growl forming snowflakes around itself, that explodes on contact, and prepared for what was to come. Then it came through the portal. A body that seemed to be made of red crystals but had no reflection. Eyes black as night with a single red line that locked on its master, razor-sharp fangs and claws, it had the same size as the ice dragon. A white crystal with a raging flame going about in the inside in the middle of its forehead. The mythical fire dragon Kimori.

- It's him.- Liana's eyes fluttered with the realization of who she was fighting. - The dragon Emperor Zachael. This is no time for her to hold back.- She immediately took a defensive stance, and Zachael's eyes widened with excitement but not because she took a defensive stance. It was what she did next. Around Liana had a ring of lightning going around followed by fire, wind, water, and earth.
