"What!! Search thoroughly!" Mr. Robert raised his voice.
I searched...and .....searched. But it was still missing. I got up and turned to Robert.
"I'm sorry, the card is not here. OH MY GOD!!!!!! I can not receive my award without it.
This should not happen......" , I started to mumble incoherent words .
"Its Ok Mr. Toblin, we can come back later. Its getting dark, we have to reach Morgan's death site."
Then we got down and I started to move towards when I found something on the floor. I bent down to pick it up, but a voice boomed.
"Don't!."
I turned to the owner of the voice to Mr. Robert standing near the railing.
I got up.
"Don't touch those. They might be our clue to get the killer."
I nodded and shifted away. Then a cop came behind me and cleared his voice. I moved aside to give him space. He gathered the evidence in a painfully slow manner.
"What is it?" I inquired.
"It is a lighter. An elite one. Only few are made, in special requests." Robert answered.
.......................
The car rose silently and zoned out. I thought how my life was, before this Stupid Game. How I enjoyed my life with my friends, that was the real fun, the real life. Happy and peaceful. When the car halted, I saw to find that we were in a dock. I turned to Robert.
"Yes it's the place where your friend was killed, brutally."
When he said those lines, my eyes turned glossy. Morgan was my friend, best one indeed , well wisher, and everything. We slowly got down and approached the site. Every step I took was like, placing my feet in the entrance of the hell hole. The place where my late bestie was.
We went to the beginning of the dock. The person in charge saw us and came over.
"Sir!" He bowed.
"We have to take a look at the site." Mr. Robert announced.
"Sure sir."
He jogged towards the gate and spoke to the person on the other side. After sometime we started. Robert guided us to a storing station.
When we went in, yellow restrictors were decorating the place. And then I saw the thing that I wasn't supposed to see. A lifter with blood on its hedge. Blood. Morgan's blood. I couldn't control my tears then. It started flowing.
Mr. Robert turned towards me and placed a sympathetic hand on me.
"Its Ok....or it's going to be okay Wilson."
I recovered and asked what happened with Morgan, making my heart strong as stone.
"Morgan was found on the hedge of the lifter, his body staked on it. He had a lot of cuts on his entire body. It was like the killer tortured him and killed him with enjoyment. And-"
"Wait !" I stopped him. Then I remembered.
"Did you get his phone?"
"Unfortunately, nope."
"Hmmm....."
Then he started to continue,
"When we checked his body for any other mark, there was a mark on this tattoo....."
Then again I drifted off when he said about the tattoo. The tattoo that we got together.
"Mr. Toblin??? Are you here?"
"Huh....yes. Yes."
"And..."
As he finished saying all those details, I can't take it any more. I came out and stood on the dock took fresh breath, to wash all those horrific guilty consciousness that was screaming inside my head. That I'm the reason for my Bud's death. When Robert came, we exited the dock.
