Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

I woke up, startled. What happened ? Why does this happen only to me everyday ? I wish that my mornings start with a bliss . The room was dark, I turned to see the digital clock which hung on the peach wall, contrasting it. It read 0709 hours . It was still dark outside, the sun was yet to chase the darkness away.

I made my way to the restroom, to do my morning chores . As I did not feel well, I chose to bath later. I then went downstairs to make a cup of lemon tea. I like it, as it gives a sense of refreshment and that too Moracoa's is the best in doing it .

After I finished my tea and crackers I checked the time to find only 15 minutes passed. Why is the time passing very slow? Quite confused, I sat on the porch, gazing at the beautiful greenary I had myself established . I loved gardening . Time elapsed. I did not think of anything in particular.

Suddenly my phone beeped . The wooden floor creaked beneath my weight when I got up. I rushed to my phone but when I reached my room, where I placed my phone; The ringing stopped. Oohhh God...what a horrible morning. Who could it be ? Come on , cheer up bud. I self-motivated . I waited for the next few minutes, for the phone to light up. But to no avail. I couldn't call myself because the bill was due .

Horrible morning , I said it again and that's what they call fate. I felt my stomach grumble and so I decided to make some toast along with Mac and cheese.

I made the breakfast and settled on the table to devour it. I live in this house alone because my parents are abroad, successfully running their business. You can imagine me as a pampered and spoiled brat, but I'm not. Even though I'm the only kid my parents have, they don't pet me. Its been like this from the childhood, so I've grown myself up for a long time. Thinking about the past will only leave a gaping hole in my heart, so mostly I avoid those memories.

When I was in the kitchen, a thought struck me. The payment. The payment that was on due by Manchester's biggest gaming academy, The Wracking Marvels. I was about to call them, but then again I cannot, because of my miserable morning condition . Then I remembered about my friends who took part in the competition along with me. I have won the competition, but what happened to my other friends . I didn't hear from them lately. I guess they are tired just like me, so they must be asleep now. I'll check on them later.

I just decided to take a walk to the nearby park to keep boredom away. I grabbed my coat from the stand and picked the house keys to lock it while I'm gone. Even though the park is just down the road, we cannot believe people these days. When I locked the door and tied my boots up, I remembered that I left the phone. I thought of carrying it, but who's gonna call me right now ! So I just left it and glided down the road. You may wonder? Glided? Yes, its snowing here. The surroundings are fully blanketed under the snow, with so much tolerance of hasty world, the world seems unique during winter dregs. I prefer winter over summer, but most of my friends say winter's only one color, makes people feel desolate and gloomy.

When I reached my house after playing and taking a pleasant morning walk in the park under the flakes, there were papers spread across the porch. I slowly picked them up and without giving a glance, placed them over the chair nearby. After making myself comfortable, I decided to check on my phone. It was , as usual , in silent mode .

When I unlocked my phone, numerous messages popped up, many calls that were unattended, everything from my friends. But when I saw the last message from Morgan , it left me speechless .
