Chapter 5 - Auction House

Cultivation manuals were the deciding factors for one's cultivation realm. If one has practiced it without emphasizing on specific points, they may cause one's cultivation to go berserk, and this was still the best outcome. Worst case was one's veins exploding or shrinking due to improper flow of qi in his vital points.

Apart from this, the level of cultivation manuals also decide his limit. The manuals are divided into 7 grades -

Mortal level

mystic level

Earth level

sky level

Heaven level

Essence level

immortal level

The manuals could either be upgraded or be changed after one had reached it's limit. But he could suffer some backslashes due to changing his technique.

After understanding this new cultivation technique, he looks for his father. The previous owner of this body was a gambler so it was no wonder that he was totally broke. Since he had no resources, he had to ask for them from his patriarch dad.

[ Jiang clan

Patriarch's room]

" may I come in father?" Jiang Chen asks cautiously. After searching through his memories, he found that his father was very strict, just that, he was never able to discipline this idiotic and gambler son of his. This was the reason why he was so respectful and patient while asking him for something.

"come in." a voice came from inside.

" I want to ask you something father." he said.

" what now? you need more money after loosing in gambling?" anger, frustration and helplessness could be heard from his tone.

"I do need some money, but not for gambling. This time, I am determined to let go all my foolish activities and focus on cultivation." he says while bowing down.

"what makes you think that I will believe you?" he questions him again, this time, with a threatening tone.

"I got my answer, father. I thank you for your time." he replies and leaves without looking back.

" has this idiot truly changed?" he sighs as he looks towards his son's departing figure.

"looks like this idiot was so unbearable that even his father gave up on him. well whatever, it's not like I cannot get money without the clan." thinking so, he goes to the talisman section to fetch brush, ink and ancient paper.

" so what talisman should I create? I can hardly think of any talisman that are suited for this place." he thinks.

Jiang Chen was an immortal, so it was obvious that the talisman he used were far more superior to the talisman used in the mortal lands. In fact, even comparing them would be regarded as degrading their value.

"oh yes, the ' wind speed talisman' is perfect for this place as it can help a Dao venerate realm cultivator to rival a sky venerate realm's cultivator speed." he says to himself.

To be honest, he overestimated the power of talisman that mortals here could create. People here could only create talisman that would double their speed at max an even that could cause people to go frenzy for them. They had never even heard of a talisman which could multiply their speed over 20 times much less seen.

He takes his brush and dips it into the ink pot. He then draws a figure in the white ancient sheet bought by him. Then, he lets it dry for a while.

" hmm, this is perfect. Now the problem is how to hide my level and be more mysterious to avoid trouble?" he questions himself.

He then goes to the weapon room and takes a very lightweight armor as that is the only armor available for him. The elder of that did not care whoever one was, one could only take a weapon if he head the qualifications to do so.

"hmmm, doesn't look so bad. I think a defensive and a mental inscription would do the job." he decides the inscriptions to be drawn.

After 2-3 hours he comes out of his room wearing the armor inside and a robe on the outside to cover it. He also carves a teleportation inscription connecting it to his room, but it causes huge depletion of mystic qi in his dantian.

" let's go to the auction house." he sets off for his destination.

As he reaches the auction house he notices a huge crowd waiting to enter the auction hall.

" how may I help you sir?" a female employee greets him politely.

" i would like to see house incharge of this house." he says in an authoritative tone.

" I am sorry sir, but he cannot visit any random person at any given time." she replies in a mocking tone.

Who the hell do you think you are, old man. He is the House incharge of the auction house of Tianwu kingdom.

" hmmm, arrogance huh. Presumptuous!!" Jiang Chen circulates his qi like he was about to attack.

" guards, get him!!" shouts the female servant.

" stop this nonsense!!" an annoyed voice came from behind.

" House incharge. This old man is causing a ruckus inside the appraisal hall so I called to take care of him." the female servant answers the man in a sweet tone.

" huh, this man. he is anything but normal." he sighs inwardly and feels sorry for the servant for provoking such existence.

This was because Jiang Chen's qi was purer than the house incharge which caused him to think that the other person was a fearsome existence that was not to be messed with.

" so you are the house incharge huh. what a disappointment." Jiang Chen pretends to be annoyed.

" huh, you dare to speak like that to the incharge!" the female servant shouts at him.

"may I know why sir was looking for me?" the incharge asks in a polite tone.

" I wanted to sell a treasure, but after seeing your servants I think I have to look for other shops." he pretends to leave.

"stop me!" Jiang Chen prays in his mind.

"sir, please wait. may I know what do you wanted to sell." the incharge stops him from going.

"it is a speed talisman." Jiang Chen replies expressionlessly.

"you old bastard, show some respect to our master or I will throw you out of here." the female servant says arrogantly.

boom*

"you.....you dare hit me?!!"
