A cold wind blew through the small room. Xiao Lienji felt a chill all over, to avoid the graving eyes of the beast she opened one of the windows to distract herself but the eyes kept following her like a tiger eying his prey.
Immediately shutting the window, Xiao Lienji turned around slowly, taking her sweet time. She gave a small smile that did not reach her eyes.
"You take the room, and I can sleep here"
It was only logical that her boss took the room, right? How can she bear to make him sleep on her small couch uncomfortably?
Xiao Lienji blamed Yan Julongg for this situation. If he just went straight back home, she could have just slept peacefully.
Yan Julong was observing her carefully. She hasn't replied to the message yet, but she did view it. Yan Julong had already made a plan in his mind to keep Xiao Lienji busy tomorrow and maybe if things work out well then surely for a few more days.
Suddenly a huge noise was heard and the light went off. Then the room went completely dark. There was occasional lightning which illuminated the room from time to time.
Xiao Lienji's heart was filled with fear. She wanted the light and thus went to grab her phone in a hurry. Her leg got entangled in the carpet and she hit her leg hard on the table.
"Auch,"
Hearing the cry, Yan Julong saw a pale looking body on the ground holding her leg. Xiao Lienji was shaking all overlooking pitifully. She looked extremely frightened.
Yan Julong had been training since young, thus he only needed a few seconds to adjust her eyesight to the darkness. Looking at Xiao Lienji, his eyes shook. She strides towards her and bent down to look at her condition.
Xiao Lienji had her face hidden in between her knees. She felt like disappearing. All the bad memories and the worst nightmare were making their comeback, and she desperately wanted to avoid them.
Yan Julong's heart pained looking at her soulless body. He put his hand on her shoulder when she shivered all over and screamed. "NO!!"
The sudden scream made Yan Julong jump, he did not expect this type of strong reaction from her. She was frightened beyond words and he could see it in her eyes. Yan Julong looked at the girl who was spacing out, he took hold of her shoulders while she kept murmuring.
"No, no, no, please, don't, I beg you…..
"Please no…."
His heart turned cold, Xiao Lienji was usually a very strong person. After working with her for a few days he quite understood her personality. He wanted to know what happened to her to create just a reaction.
Yan Julong removed her specs and kept it on the table. Xiao Lienji's eyes were beautiful. The indigo blue color shined under the water droplets formed in her doe shaped eyes. Her long eyelashes fluttered.
Yan Julong was tempted if her eyes were focused on him. Xiao Lienji felt someone grab her but her mind was focus somewhere else. She wanted to come out of this nightmare soon but was unable to. Why was she in such a condition now? She was not afraid of the dark but maybe she was too stressed out lately for the memories to come crashing back at such a time.
Yan Julong's one hand went under her knees while the other supported the upper body. With a jerk, Xiao Lienji's whole body was nested in Yan Julong's arms.
Xiao Lienji's head was nested awkwardly above Yan Julong's shoulder. Yan Julong was inexperienced st such things. He feared that her neck would be strained, so he took huge strides towards the bedroom.
Yan Julong sat on the bed and nested Xiao Lienji in his arms. He knew he should not do this, but he wanted to comfort her, and he did not want to leave her.
Yan Julong hugged her body from his left hand while his right hand was brushing her silky hair trying to make her calm down.
"Shhh, I'm here with you, Xiao Lienji,"
"No one will touch you,"
"You are safe now,"
Yan Julongs sweet and comforting voice worked like magic, making Xiao Lienji's restless heart to come down quickly. She slowly came back to the real world, her eyes focusing again. Xiao Lienji tried moving her body but something was restricting her movement.
Seeing the body in his arms moving to break free, Yan Julong's hand tightened. He wanted her to stay still in his arms. When Xiao Lienji looked at the hands holding her she was frightened, she turned around to look at the person responsible for restaining her.
Yan Julong looked down, Xiao Lienji had calmed down looking at him with her lovely big eyes.
The warm feeling that comforted her, the person responsible to make her heart clam down was Yan Julong, the realization confused Xiao Lienji. She was so lost in his eyes that shined like the universe, dark and mysterious that she did not recognize their compromising position.
Looking at Xiao Lienji lost in his, Yan Julong smirked. His heart fell at peace. He could not help but to tease her.
"It seems, you are comfortable now,"
Xiao Lienji did not understand Yan Julong's meaning, looking at the naive girl in his arms, Yan Julong pulled her closer towards him.
The sudden movement frightened Xiao Lienji, and her hand caught Yan Julong's arm subconsciously. Her head rested just below his chin and her ears were in perfect alignment with his heart.
Xiao Lienji blushed, her skin turning pink.
"Sorry,"
"What for?"
Yan Julong's words were an indicator that he didn't mind thus Xiao Lienji did not explain further.
Yan Julong was reluctant to let Xiao Lienji go, he wanted to protect the girl. Was it Love or Obsession? Or was her existence enough to make him happy? He didn't know. He just wanted to have her, and that he will.
"You sleep here, I'll go out,"
Xiao Lienji wanted to refuse, but looking at his eyes full of warning she kept her mouth shut.
"Call me if you need anything,"
