Chapter 27 - VII. Coincidental Reunion

Celestine walked down and hugged her cousin. By the looks of it they're close.

"Good thing that you heard my call." Julia said as they finish their hug.

"Good be in the area" Celestine replied. She saw Strife. "Strife" She went in for a hug.

The polar bear hugged he as well. "Long time no see, Celestine. How you been?" He asked.

"Good. And see you're not bad yourself" Celestine smiled, Strife chuckled. "The Carpenters. I hope she isn't in bad shape." She said as she looked around.

"You guys know each other?" Julia asked.

"Yeah. We used to partner up, like real partners. Equal in every way" Celestine gave emphasis on the last part without looking at me. One of her insults.

Julia gave me a look. The look that asked the same question. I shrugged it off.

"Hey is that?" Strife asked.

"Yup. Remodeled and all"

"Cool"

I stood there awkwardly waiting to be recognized but she couldn't even care. We moved towards where the ship got hit. On the wings. We saw the left side being totaled.

"We need to replace that wing. Probably check on the rear too." Strife commented.

"What do you think we should do?" Julia ask everyone

"Well first things first. We need to take the Carpenters to a nearby shop. Then we can do a better inspection to make repairs." Strife informed Julia.

"Well I have towing tool on the ship. We could use this to bring the Carpenters back to the city." Celestine suggested.

Strife nodded. Celestine opened the door to her ship. She went inside and followed. We went to the cabin area. Stood around the holotable.

"Welcome to the Swift you guys." She said smiling. Julia's eyes opened wide.

"The Swift?" I asked. Celestine ignored. I walked out of the ship, Julia and Strife followed me with their eyes confused. "What the hell?" I said as I walked back on board. "Where's the music?" I looked at Celestine. She still wouldn't acknowledge my presence. "C.H.R.I.S. play some sick beats" I ordered C.H.R.I.S.

"Kill music" Celestine ordered C.H.R.I.S. the A.I. turned it off.

"Oh so you can see me." I replied sharply.

"I was just repaying what you did to me. Turns out it's funny" She said as she laughed.

"Wait you also know each other?" Julia asked.

"Yes" Me and Celestine replied in unison.

"I assume you're partners?" Julia followed up.

"No. He's the guy that tricked me and stole my ship" Celestine replied.

"Well technically, I returned it to you. And it's better that when I took it" I rebutted.

"Whatever" Celestine said. I rolled my eyes, she looked at her cousin. "I heard you guys are making a documentary" Celestine asked Julia.

"Yeah. We were looking for a tablet,  then some other scavengers came shooting at us." Julia replied.

"Well it seemed like you guys need a better pilot" Celestine laughed as she looked at me. She then walked towards the cockpit. Pressed a button. There were sounds of cables being thrown out. "I just released the cables."

"Rover. Wanna help me attach the cables to the Carpenters?" Strife asked me.

"Sure" I said.

We both walked out of the Swift. We went to the left wing area and saw two cables. I took one and Strife took another. We walked to the Carpenters and attached it to the wings. "Out of all persons. Who would've guessed?" Strife told me. He laughed. I ignored him.

There were two more cables at the right wing. We attached it accordingly. We walked back in the Swift. We directly went to the cockpit. There are about four chairs plus captain's chair. This thing really was improved upon.

"Cables attached." I told Celestine who was sitting in the pilot's chair. Julia was on the captain's chair.

"CHRIS cables are in. Do your thing" Celestine told the A.I.

Like hearing an old friend through the phone. C.H.R.I.S. replied. "Confirming. Running numbers… Ready to tow."

"Strife, you mind helping me." Celestine asked for Strife. Strife sat down.

I looked at Julia. "Hey." I greeted her, she smiled. "You're in my spot."

"What?" She asked.

"We're gonna tow my ship. I need to help them" I reasoned. Julia got out of the chair and sat below. "Alright. This feels home" I announced to everyone.

"I didn't tell say that you can sit there." Celestine told me.

"Is this not my ship?" I asked Celestine rhetorically. She rolled her eyes. "Hey Strife. Call it." I asked Strife.

Strife looked at me and back to Celestine. Julia just observed. "Captain on the bridge" He said and laughed.

They both flew the Swift up. The magnetic towing line shortened and stiffened. And with that we are towing the Carpenters up, heading back to the city to hopefully repair it.

Somewhere back on the forest. The aliens that hunted us are getting out of their ships. Those who survived anyways. The leader looked at his subordinates.

"Damage report." He asked through the radio.

"We have about ten percent of our manpower. The rest are either dead or near dead." One of his men replied through the radio.

"Gather everyone who can still fire a blaster"

"But sir."

"We will avenge those killed. He made it personal." The leader said as he turned the communication over. As he stood still. The skies became dark. He got curious and looked up. He saw a giant ship, he held his blaster tight. The ship slowly landed, kicking dust from every direction. The doors opened and two men walked out.

One had red spiky hair reaching his back. There's a little trim of red under his eye and a specs-spectacles on his right eye. A spec-spectacle is the predecessor of holowatches, it looks like one side of a pair of glasses with a tiny glass which projects information directly into your eyes. He might've looked like a human but he has a tail wrapping around his waist like a belt, his appearance seemed to be furry with only his face, chest, and a little bit of his abdomen is free of fur. He was wearing baggy white pants with blue boots. He doesn't appear to have any weapons. But there are braces on his arms that transforms into a gauntlet that is capable of firing concussive or lethal blast of plasma.

The alien leader drew his blaster at the man. The man quickly activated his braces knocking the gun off. The man clicked his tongue in disappointment.

The other man walked down. He was well dressed than the other man. With a side piece on his hips. By the looks and walk of him, some could say he's rich. His face and body colored purple, with sleek back hair. He signalled the  spiky haired man to stand down.

"Dhurnuth, please we need them." The purple man said.

"I'm sorry sir." Dhurnuth replied. He disengaged his gauntlets.

"Who are you?" The alien leader asked the purple man.

"Well I am Siltoin. And this is my associate, Dhurnuth." Siltoin said. "I saw you and your troops fight that one ship. I know you might be pissed but we have a preposition for you." He smiled looking at the alien.

"I am listening" the alien sharply replied.
