I woke up like every morning but something was off even before I opened my eyes. It felt like I was laying on the grass, and I wasn't covered by a blanket. but there was something else. groggily I opened my eyes and saw that I was in an almost empty plot of land. there were an orderly bush wall and two brick pillars marking a simple opening into a bigger plot of land that was looking just like mine.

At one of the pillars, there was something that looked like an LCD screen.

While I looked around I realized that I didn't know where I was and that I was in my sleeping clothes, simple silk pants in a soft blue color.

In shock not entirely realizing my situation, I stood up.

my thoughts on this were not clear as I had just woken up, but slowly coherent thoughts formed in my mind.

'where am I?' was the first that had any meaning. then I tried to answer the question simply by recounting the last thing I remembered.

'Ok yesterday I went to work and then finished watching that series that I started, then I went to bed. so how come I'm here right now' as I was thinking I absentmindedly walking to the only thing that looked in any way special.

When I reached the pillar that marked one side of an entrance with the screen like thing, I looked at it and pondered, 'what is this some kind of touch screen'.

using my hand I touched the screen and a message appeared on it.

Hello Human

We the Cytax, have thought that losing a civilized race such as human would be a wast. As your planet has become inhabitable for life, we the Cytax are going to migrate a part of humankind to a new planet. As your home planet was Æther less. We the Cytax, have decided to keep you in isolation and let you slowly get used to the effects of Æther. Once we deem that your survival in the new environment would be possible, we will release you and give you a new planet to settle on. We the Cytax, are glade that humankind will continue to exist.

This is your personal assistant system, It will help you with the integration of Æther. For the first week Cytaxian time you will gain 16 units of Æther a day with simple goals for the usage of those units of Æther. as we the Cytax respect free will we will give you multiple ways to complete them and even allow you to completely ignore them. but be warned that those goals are there for a reason and ignoring them could be a quick way to die on your new home planet.

We the Cytax have organized humans in clusters each of those clusters has 16 humans living inside of it. each of those has gotten his own plot of land to live on. Right now you are on your plot of land. only you and those you chose to can enter it. Connecting those plot of lands is your clusters wilds. there you will be able to gather resources and fight beasts. Right now the wilds are empty and save. To meet your fellow humans and get to know each other.

We the Cytax will be watching over you.

After I read the massage over and over again, trying to get more information from it, I finally gave up.

I still don't know what happened to earth or how they saved us, or even if that was true.

but I knew that I was at the mercy of the Cytax and that I wasn't the only one, maybe someone of the others in this cluster knew more about what happened to the Earth. So I slowly left the plot of land that was supposed to be mine.

I looked around and saw that this cluster wild wasn't that big and that others had already left their plots and were gathering in the middle. So I moved toward them, the group was a total mix of gender and race, everyone was different in some way. I counted the people and counted 14. meaning only one person was left. I sat down and didn't know how to begin in this situation. It looked like the others didn't know either as it was eerily silent.

we sat there for a long time in silence till a naked woman covering herself only with her hands slowly moved towards us one of the guys of the group stood up and removed his pullover he was wearing and moved to the woman. She looked frightened as the guy walked towards her. he then said to one of the other woman's there, "could you help her and bring this over to her." he handed the pullover he had removed to the woman. she understood and stood up to take the pullover but the biggest guy was faster and took it first. Everyone glanced at him but no one said anything. everyone was just dumbfounded by this.

then the tall man started to speak to everyone, " I'm Pedro and starting now this is my cluster and you will listen to what I say." the reactions were diverse but two were definitely out of place two of the guys that sat close to him smirked as if they knew what was going to happen. the guy that removed his pullover moved toward him and said, " who do you think you are?" while he tried to snatch back his pullover.

what happened next shocked most of the people. before anyone realized it Pedro had a knife in his hand and had rammed it into the guy's chest. as the guy looked at him with disbelief, Pedro said, " I'm the new boss of this cluster and you are dead." the smirk on pedros face showed that he was totally nuts.

Before he even finished the first woman screamed.

everyone moved away except the guys that smirked before and said, " what are your orders boss."

he didn't take long and then said, " bring me all of the women, I wanna have a taste of them." after that followed another scream. the woman moved away from the guys and most of the guys didn't know what to do. I then remembered something from the message and I screamed at the top of my lungs, " the plots are save they can only be entered by the owners permission." then I saw that Pedro was glaring at me, he screamed, " everyone catch the girls or you will be the next one to be killed." right after I shouted the woman began to run for their plots. after the shout of Pedro, everyone started to run. While running I was looking around me all the time and I saw that a girl to my side was grabbed by one of the pedros lackeys. I went over to them and pushed the lackey away and then I pulled the girl in the direction of the plots. I then asked without looking back "which one is yours?"

"that one" she answered. I looked back at her and saw that she was pointing to the on the left of mine but I also saw that the lackey was right behind us.

It wasn't far away but we managed to reach her plot and she could enter without any problems but I couldn't. I shouted at her, " Let me in". she was fiddling with the screen next to the entrance and said to me, " I don't know how". but it was already too late the lackey had reached me and jump kicked me to the ground, I felt extreme pain from my ribs.

He then looked at me and said, " Bad move, punk."

he pulled my hair and pulled me back to Pedro. I was paniking. my ribs hurt and behind me, I could hear a woman scream. I looked up and saw how the woman I saved threw something at the lackey he let go of me and the woman quickly grabbed my leg and pulled me back to her plot this time I could enter it. the punk was knocking with his fist against an invisible wall.

I was saved.
