Chapter 17 - Departure

"Since we only have the two of us, we only need my Empress Carriage to carry us over to Germany, where the Holy Heart Sect is located." Si Xiu told Shen Ying.

"They will also have a different language, but with this common voice charm, this barrier should pose nothing to you." Si Xiu handed a piece of gold paper into Shen Ying's palm.

Shen Ying handed the paper to Li Tang, who quickly stuffed it into a random part of his body. Since it was inside Li Tang, the charm was considered as part of him.

Afterwards, she then quickly stuffed him inside her Slave Storage. Si Xiu did not question anything, as Shen Ying had already said that she had simply thrown him back to the Underworld.

In reality, Li Tang was suffering silently in a cage inside Shen Ying's mind. He could see the glowing red portal that could bring him back to his world, but a transparent barrier blocked him from reaching there. It was as if a glittering and amazing dish was put in front of a prisoner, but iron bars blocked the prisoner. He should know, after all, he invented that torture method himself. How ironic it was for it to be used against him!

He could not even use his five senses at all, ever since he regained them after reaching the Spirit Commander Rank. If he had known about this, he would have rather bided this time and cultivated patiently using the human souls' negative emotions.

However, there could be some benefits to being a slave to the girl. If she grew powerful enough, he could leech some of her powers for herself as part of the Underworld contract. Or his direct superior, Ghost Monarch Mo Qing would come from the Underworld to rescue him. The moment he thought about that, he remembered how he was trapped by the girl in the first place.

She had a mysterious backer that could change the Underworld's contract. The backer must be incredibly powerful, powerful enough to rival even the True Emperors of the Underworld! Only they could change the Underworld's tunes and laws by force. He licked his lips in fear when he thought about the True Emperors. If Mo Qing ever came, he needed to warn him about the true power of the girl! Until then, he could only wait...wait...wait.

Shen Ying did not hear or think anything he said and took the luggage that was already pre-packed by Si Xiu. It was filled to the brim with trinkets that had a bit magical power, and certain charms that the Sect Leader has requested from Si Xiu.

The magical trinkets were still useful even with their minuscule powers, but when gathered together and detonated? Even the unbreakable cores of the Rotating Core cultivators did not stand a chance. Si Xiu had told Shen Ying during their combat training that she had once killed a hostile Spiritual Foundation cultivator using the power of only 10 trinkets.

Since 10 trinkets were enough to take down a Spiritual Foundation cultivator, what about Body Building cultivators? Could they be taken down with just one trinket? Shen Ying thought about taking one trinket, before looking at Si Xiu. Si Xiu was still digging in her deep pockets for the Empress Carriage, so Shen Ying quickly unzipped the luggage and took out a...brush? Shen Ying raised her eyebrows, before throwing the brush into her shorts' pocket.

"I wish I get a Spatial Ring soon. The cultivators in this world should have them somewhere..." Shen Ying thought to herself, as Si Xiu's face lit up as she finally found what she needed.

Si Xiu took out a miniature carriage, which she infused her unique spiritual Qi inside to activate. The carriage started to absorb the normal Qi in the atmosphere and turned it into strands of the strange Qi that Shen Ying had saw before. At this point, she could roughly deduce that it was Space Qi. Yep, there definitely were Spatial Rings in this world.

It reminded her that she needed to get karma of a certain person in order to unlock a new skill from her system. Could a clue come from the Shattering Space artifact that Si Xiu installed? An ancient ruin was also mentioned somewhere... she could possibly check it out too, once she became stronger.

"Hey, do you think I could cultivate on the way to Holy Heart Sect?" Shen Ying asked Si Xiu casually as she walked into the inside of the Empress Carriage, which had grown to the size of Si Xiu's house on the outside.

"Of course, you could. It would be much harder however. Instead, why not try your hand in refining some artifacts?" Si Xiu replies to Shen Ying, who did not respond, as she was in awe of the interior of Empress Carriage. She had seen some cultivators transportation before, but this was her first time seeing such an outlandish display of wealth.

The rest of the cultivators she saw used Sword Levitation Art, which was very practical, but the cultivator needed to focus on their sword intent, or they would fly off course to the ground. Not even a Great Celestial cultivator could save them if their bodies were not intact.

Meanwhile, there was plenty of space in the carriage. Shen Ying could even see some Earth-type Qi wafting from some of the glass jugs in the room. There were also numerous charms that were hung on the walls, and a workshop that had various types of materials lying on the table.

"Come over here! I have something else to teach to you." Si Xiu motioned for Shen Ying to come besides the workshop.

"Since you have learned the basics of combat, it's time to learn about artifact refinement. Artifacts are made from ores and minerals that has been touched and infused with Heavenly Qi. It originated from the Heavens, and the normal Qi around us is 1000 times diluted Heavenly Qi." Si Xiu explained the basics of artifacts to Shen Ying, who listened patiently.

Si Xiu also took out a pair of pen and paper, before giving it to Shen Ying for her to write down on, before proceeding to lecture about the numerous ways to turn ores into artifacts. Shen Ying finally knew why Si Xiu was called a prodigy of the Holy Heart Sect. Every explanation she gave was detailed and meticulous. Cultivation, Charm Creation, Artifact Refinement... Was there anything Si Xiu could not do?
