I woke up abruptly from my slumber. I was in the embrace of the man who I chose last night to be my partner. His voice still echoed in my head. He didn't care about my flaws, unlike Josh, who would always tell me about my marshmallow forms. Instead, this man emphasised on my good qualities. He spoiled me the whole night, and I was grateful for it. He made me feel like a real woman.
I looked at the clock - it was half past six in the morning. I didn't want to get out from his embrace but I had to. I slowly took his arm from around my waist. I wore my clothes that were scattered all over the floor. I looked at the sleeping man. He looked so peaceful while he was sleeping. His resting, sleeping face wasn't so scary anymore, but rather charming and friendly.
I couldn't leave without writing a note like an uncultured swine. I quietly opened a drawer and found a notebook and a few pens. How convenient! I took a clean sheet of paper and wrote down a note:
'Good morning!
I'm sorry for leaving without letting you know. Thank you for keeping your promise, I appreciate it.
-Rosalyn Parker'
I automatically signed the note, and I was ready to erase it but then I left it as it is. I don't care if he knows my name or not. I folded the note neatly and put it on the nightstand.
I looked at him again. He was still sleeping in the same position. I walked to the door, reaching to the door knob when I heard a voice behind me.
"Leaving without saying good morning?"
I instantly turned around. He was right beside me, fully awake.
"I thought you were sleeping?"
"Your movements woke me up."
"So you pretended to sleep?"
"Yeah." Bastard! Zero differences between him and a wolf in sheep's clothing! His pretty face deserves a big bruise from my fist!
"Please don't hit me." He looked like a little puppy that knows he is guilty and wants his owner to forgive him for his wrongdoing. That man could be a great actor, he got the looks and the skills. I still wanted to plant a bruise on his face for the cheap, unnecessary scare. All of a sudden, I was pulled into his arms.
"What the hell are you doing?"
"What does it look like I'm doing?" What an answer! He answered all of my questions that I had about life and existence with a few words!
"Let me go!" I hit his chest with my hand, trying to free myself from his strong arms. He didn't even flinch at all! Am I that weak? Instead, he planted a kiss on the top of my hair.
"Just a little longer. Please." His voice was soft, begging and desperate. Why would he beg if he had already been with so many women before? I was the one who should be desperate for his touch, not vice versa! One of his arms was wrapped around my waist, holding me closer to him. The other hand held my head, stroking my long hair gently. I stopped fighting and just let it be. Perhaps he has a difficult life and he needed a hug? I will never know his story, so I hugged him back. I buried my head in his chest, and I swear to god his heartbeats were so fast. Was it because of me? I laughed inwardly and let it be. We were standing in each other embrace for I don't know how long. He finally let go of me. Blush appeared on his cheeks like he was a school boy that got to kiss his crush's cheek. A grown man looking like a teenager boy! That was a sight, which evil me would laugh loudly at. I tried my best to maintain a poker face.
"I will just... wear some clothes and... escort you to the nearest subway..." He stuttered a bit.
"Of course I will wait outside of the room." I wanted to breathe in some fresh air, as I struggled to breathe inside the room.
"You saw me naked and you can't watch me dress up?"
"I just need some fresh air!" The moment I said it, he opened the window wide open. A gentle breeze entered the room. I approached the window and heard the birds chirping. What an amazing morning! A small smile appeared on my face as I wandered into my dreamland. A sudden knock returned me back to reality. I turned my head to the direction of the door to see a young woman standing in the doorway. She looked tired, and she had a portfolio in her arms. The young woman resembled the young man, and I guessed she was his sister, or at least a family relative.
"What is it, my dear sister?" I heard the man asking her, emphasising the words 'dear sister'. He was cold with his sister, and I couldn't understand why.
"Well, dear brother, I heard voices coming from your room so I came to inspect if you were awake." She said coldly, close to lash out on her brother. Oh my, the siblings were surely at each other's throats. The woman continued: "There are documents in the office. Go and read them now."
"First let me escort the woman out of here.."
"First time you want to escort a woman yourself! I don't care what you want to do right now! You have to be there at 8 o'clock sharp for the whole mission to go smoothly! She will wait here for your return."
"You will pay for this, sister." The man growled and went out of the room, leaving me with his sister.
