Chapter 4 - Letter from the Student Council President

Lyle marveled at the lavishly decorated room. He heard that the dormitory room of the rich and influential people was different from the others, but he didn't know that the difference was this big!

Even the couch he was sitting on was so soft that he felt like being lulled to sleep. Ciel prepared tea and a slice of cake for his guest. He placed it on the table and sat beside Lyle on the couch.

"Sorry, this is all I have right now," Ciel said. "I don't often have guests in my room."

"N-No, it's fine!" Lyle stuttered. "Thank you!"

Ciel was amused by his reaction. He really liked this scholarship student, and the more he act flustered the more he wanted to tease him. However, he knows that the time was not right.

He sighed and opened the letter of the student council president. That 'person' doesn't write to him unless it is important.

-------------------------

[Hi Ciel! It's me Alex! Did you miss me? Are you doing fine? Of course you do! If not, feel free to come here in the student council office, and I'll make sure to make you feeeeeel really gooooooood!]

Ciel almost crumpled the letter. Only the discipline he forged from the many years he spent at the academy prevented him from doing so. He sighed and read the rest.

[I'm sad because you don't visit me at the Student Council Office unless I order you to do it. Where did my cute Ciel go? Wait…how about I visit you tonight? Fufu, I bet you have an annoyed expression right now. I'd love to seeeee it, but I can't, so I'll get straight to the point.

You promised me that you'll be supporting one of the Sports Club remember? You have one week to submit an application, and you have to send it to me personally! I miss you, so you better do as I say or else…]

-------------------------

Lyle was silently observing Ciel as he read the letter. As an assistant of the public relations officer of the student council, he understood how unreasonable the president could get. He marveled at his silky, dark-blonde hair that seemed to reflect light.

His beautiful eyes were raised due to the contents of the letter. His smooth face, free from blemishes, his straight nose, and those lips that made you want to kiss them...

He almost choked on his tea when he realized that he was ogling a guy. He forcefully averted his gaze and cursed himself.

'What the hell?! I'm straight!'

He shook his head in an attempt to chase away the stupid thoughts in his mind. He took deep breaths in order to regain his calm.

A minute passed and Ciel folded the letter in his hand. He pinched the bridge of his nose and held back a sigh. He remembered the promise that he made to the student council president. No, it was more like a promise that the president forced him to make.

He glanced at Lyle who was seated beside him. He was busy eating the slice of cake with a look of vengeance. He assumed that it was his way of venting his anger towards the unreasonable errand that the student council president asked of him.

Scholarship students were mandated by the academy to become assistants to the members of the student council. The former founder made this rule in order to help these students form 'connections' with the elites of the academy.

They need to help the student council for a year in order to pass this requirement. Of course, if they want to continue their roles, the student council was more than happy to have them stay.

They don't have to help them everyday, and scholarship students work in shifts. Lyle work on the student council during Tuesdays and Thursdays. While he spend the remaining days participating in the Tennis Club.

Ciel waited for Lyle to finish eating the cake before making a light cough to catch his attention.

"Helping the student council must be a lot of work."

"Sometimes, but now I'm used to it."

"Was the president in a good mood as of late?"

Lyle flinched at his question. The mood of the student council president determines whether they will experience heaven or hell for a day. It was an unwritten rule in the student council to always make their president happy.

"Well, the president seems to be in an irritated mood as of late." Lyle said.

"Sounds like a pain."

The two of them sighed in unison. Seeing each others similar reaction they both chuckled at the same time.

"Mmm, I won't keep you here for much longer. I'm sure that you're a busy man."

"Yes, thank you for the hospitality."

"Feel free to visit anytime especially when the president is in a bad mood."

Ciel presented his hand for a handshake, and Lyle subconsciously returned the gesture. Ciel lightly squeezed his hand and shook it twice before letting go. He then walked towards the door and opened it.

Lyle thanked him once again for his hospitality and left to head back to the student council. The conversation he had with Ciel was still fresh from his mind. He could still remember the sensation he felt when the two of them shook hands.

"Such soft hands…"
