Section: STRAIGHT SOLUTIONS FOR LIFE
54. The Royal Command
Once there lived a king who had a very faithful servant. He was so loyal that he had even risked his life to save the life of the king on a couple of occasions.
On one such occasion, the king was very pleased with the servant and told him to ask for anything he wanted. The servant humbly replied, 'I don't need anything, O King. You have given me everything I need.' But the king insisted. Finally, the servant said, 'If you really want to give me something, please make me king for one day.'
The king was a bit uncomfortable with this, but he had already promised and had to keep it up. The next morning the servant became king for a day. The moment he wore the crown, the servant simply pointed to the king and ordered the royal guards, 'Kill him!' The king was shocked! He shouted at the servant, 'What nonsense are you talking?!' The servant calmly replied, 'I am the king today. I can do whatever I wish to.' So the king was killed and the servant remained king forever.
This is the story of you and your mind! As long as your mind is in your control, as long as it is a tool in your hands, it serves you very well, it can be very useful to you. Nothing wrong. The problem happens when you trust your mind so much that you make it your master/
