Chapter 1 - Repent...

"Mademoiselle Duchess Mirabelle Estella von Castano," the High Pope said, "You have been charged with high-classified murder, and been witnessed as a Mole Scout from our enemy Kingdom. Do you have your final words?"

A woman in her 18's was chained by a pair of heavy shackles. Mirabelle didn't have anything to say as she sat down on the cold marbled floor of the Courtroom. She could feel the glares of detestable eyes locking her down. Who would have thought such a prideful and the only daughter of Duke Castano would be this despicable?

"..." Mirabelle just blankly stared at the floor. How exactly did all of this happen?

"ArchDuke Leon Volpe~ what do you think about this testimony of your fiance?" the Pope asked the man on his right-hand side.

"Shameless..." he muttered loudly, not even looking at her. Mirabelle gulped when he said that. Shameless? He didn't have any more loathsome to say? Mirabelle wanted to faintly laugh when he said that. She knew how much her fiance hated her.

"ArchDuke Volpe... any more words?" the Pope said.

"..." Seeing that the ArchDuke was quiet, small chatters and murmurs passed along the audience.

"We now shall censure Lady Mirabelle's testimony... she has been accused of almost murdering the Second Daughter of the Viscount, Lady Alicia in due to the act of jealousy and hatred. She also has been accused of the disappearance of Lady Alicia's two best friends. Not only that... for putting a spy from the enemy Kingdom in the office of the Archduke..." The Pope continued rambling about her fake sins.

More hateful words were directed towards Mirabelle. Instead, that woman kept her mouth shut and her eyes were glued on the floor. Should she try explaining her self? What good would it do if she didn't want to live in this dull world anyways?

Unlike the other girls, Mirabelle didn't want to live anymore. She was tired of living, pretending to be happy, sad, angry, and prideful.

"Now, for the retribution for overall charges... you shall be charged with a life sentence in the execution hall. The ArchDuke's testimony suggests that your execution death will be set forth tomorrow evening." The Pope said.

"..."

"Guards- take her away!"

***

Soon the execution day arrived and everyone gathered around the public sentencer. Rumors and the message was spread that the infamous daughter of Late Duke Castano was stripped of the title of nobility and was sentenced to death.

Mademoiselle Mirabelle, the current heir of the title of "Evil Queen" in the nation. The Ice Duchess of the Rose Society. The one who enjoyed hurting people for entertainment. People knew that even her fiance, Lord Archduke Monsieur Leon Volpe also detested her.

"Any last words? Of the infamous Queen?" the executioner mocked her in front of the entire crowd. People started snickering at her and some even sneered.

Mirabelle lifelessly stared into the executioner's eyes and smirked at him.

"Tell them that the villain is reminiscing," she replied mockingly. Soon as she said that, she could see the fear on their eyes.

How pathetic. Even during her death, they were all scared. Though her dull eyes betrayed her. She was not reminiscing... she was rather...

Repenting.

Something that she hated doing.

'Mirror on the wall, if I could go back time... and change everything... If I could live another life without sins or karma- and avoid everything...'

It was because... this. Mirabelle doesn't want to be the "Evil Queen," again.

The executioner got all of his courage and anger out on her. He quickly pulled up his ax he quickly pinned down Mirabelle on the hanger. Some even cheered as they say:

"Karma of the Queen!"

Mirabelle smirked and sealed her eyes. That's right, rejoice to the holy world for her death.

And right in front of the crowd- Lady Duchess Mirabelle, the prideful, and the most detestable woman in this world, was executed right in front of their eyes.
