Chapter 78 - Little Deity (3)

Seeing Minzhe finally stop crying, Yi Ling set him down and looked at Linyu. She couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss. The whole time, Linyu had been tense and scared. She sensed his mixed feelings due to their connection. At the same time, she didn't want to corner Linyu and Mu Xin. It was Mu Xin's business, after all, and he had helped her a lot.

Jin Minzhe smiled at Linyu, showing his winning face. Linyu rolled his eyes again. It didn't matter to him anymore. As long as his master was alright, it was fine by him. Still, the brat! He couldn't help but disdain the father and son. Tsk.

After the quick interrogation session, they ate peacefully and went to rest. When they got back to the inn, Linyu informed Yi Ling that Minzhe was special. Due to their unique connection, he could freely enter the Ring at all times. But the brat didn't want to.

"I want to sleep with mommy!" Minzhe hugged Yi Ling's thighs and didn't let go. No matter how much Linyu pulled, he couldn't get him off. Perks of being a deity, Jin Minzhe was as strong as his father.

Yi Ling sighed as she looked at the duo. She decided to send Linyu back to the Ring and let Minzhe do what he wanted. Although she had seen him in his older form, she didn't feel uncomfortable letting him sleep beside her. She couldn't help but feel bad for the little guy, and she actually felt like Minzhe was a little kid in how he acted and talked.

At first, Jin Minzhe only wanted to stay close to his mother. But the more time he spent with her, the more his feelings deepened. Yi Ling took care of him, offering him food and drinks during their meals, and made sure he was safe as they walked home. Jin Minzhe couldn't help but feel a warmth inside him that he had never experienced before. Having a mother was something entirely new to him.

During the time that he was kicked out, Jin Minzhe had seen different kinds of families. He was always envious of them, even if some of them had poor living conditions. What mattered was, they were a complete family. Now that he was experiencing what it felt like to have a mother, he would never let this feeling go. This time, he wanted to protect his family. Especially his mother.
