Chapter 13 - The Odd Looking Tree

Jin Minzhe was at a loss. He didn't know that he would be able to see his mother again, even if it was her ghost. She looked divine as ever, more beautiful than the picture on the wall of his father's study. Thinking about that old man, anger instantly built up inside him. He hated that stinking old man! He didn't realize that his emotions were showing on his face.

Yi Ling thought he was getting mad at her. This jerk, she thought. Hmp.. She crossed her arms and looked elsewhere.

Jin Minzhe was about to say something when he noticed that his mother was fading more. He tried to reach her in time, but Yi Ling disappeared.

"Mother!" he yelled. But she wasn't there anymore.

-----------------------------------

Yi Ling's surroundings changed again. Now, she was standing near a big pond. It was so clear that you could see the bottom of it. There were even fishes in it. The sky was clear, and it was sunny. She noticed that she was in a nicely trimmed grass field. She couldn't see the end of it. Aside from the big pond, there was a big tree beside it. It was standing tall on a small hill. The pond was in between them.

The tree looked like a regular oak tree, but what puzzled her was that the leaves had different colors. There were green, silver, pink, yellow, red, and blue. What an odd tree, she thought. Since it was all a dream, she walked around the pond and went up the hill to get a closer view.

Now that she was facing the tree up close, she noticed that the trunk of the tree was odd as well. It had a silver and gold hue along with the regular dark brown. She lifted her head, looking at the branches. The silver and gold hue could be seen along as well. She scratched the back of her head. Her dream was really bizarre today. She met and saw different people and places.

There was a nice breeze in the air, and she thought she might as well relax here. She sat down and leaned her back against the tree. Just as she was about to close her eyes, the breeze got stronger, and she almost fell to her side. She then noticed that there was someone standing in front of her. She looked up but was blinded by the sun. She couldn't see the person's face, nor could she tell if it was a man or a woman. One thing was for sure though, the person was not ordinary.

The person then opened its hand in front of her, gesturing to help her get up. Her heartbeat quickened again. The person's aura felt familiar to her, and she didn't know why.
