Chapter 2 - Planet Urval

An ominous shadow is hunched over a crackling campfire. It reaches out, easily placing its hand into the flame, to turn a small, almost golden brown carcass that had two long ears and a small horn on its forehead. The sky above seemed far away, and only a slit of it could be seen. To the silhouettes back, a white space pod with a noticeable chunk missing from its left side.

A tail like a shadow creeps up towards the head of the looming figure. 'At least that space pod isn't so useless after all, those survival methods in there really do work' the Saiyan boy says while getting an itch on his neck.

'The weird pod says I've been here for two months, though I don't remember it much since I was being healed in the pod for most of it'. The boy abruptly stands revealing a small body adorned by Saiyan armor, though like all members of the royal family, the boy bears a red double anchor like insignia on his chest.

During the few days, after he was healed, he realized he was stuck. And from how it made this 'landing', it didn't seem like it'd be flying anytime soon.

The boy peers back to the pod 'It's really fun learning about those people in the pod, even if it's always screaming "Destroy all lifeforms.. blah, blah, conquer all, blah, blah"'. With his gaze back to the carcass he breaks a smile 'I would've never been able to cook that horned rabbit without it'.

His gaze scans the ravine he is in. It is only around 300 or so meters wide at where he's at, even so, there is an abundance of tall grass, bushes, and even trees.

'Well, the animals down here seem too weak to do anything to me'. The battle powers of the nearby life forms were only around 20, not enough to cause much danger, and from the scan on himself, he was at 127 battle power.

After stuffing his tummy Kohl decides to venture further down the ravine. 'This time I'll travel as far as I can before nightfall, I have to find a way up' hopeful, he makes his way down. It was noon by this hour, and Kohl had made good progress, but with little reward. No matter where he looked, there were only small trees and similar small creatures. And from looking back, he could only see the flat ground, he hasn't come across even a small hill let alone anything that could help him climb out.

He looks towards a rustling bush, probably another small horned rabbit. On-call, a small rabbit leaps out of the bush. Upon close inspection, it seems startled and shoots past Kohl not even taking note of him.

'That was close' he ponders 'though that didn't seem like an attack'. The boy had sharp senses, thanks to him being a Saiyan, and upon inspection, the rabbit's gaze wasn't focused on him at all. Another rumble is heard from the bush. A paw tears through and a gray feline creature stands proud as its eyes settle on Kohl.

'Crap!' He quickly taps his scouter. '207' This wasn't a fight he was able to handle. It was almost twice his own power! Not to mention the felines natural fighting ability and claws. One swipe and it'd not only crush a bone but completely rip off a limb.

He starts towards a tree, swerving underneath a thick root right before the feline attempts a pounce. The creature rams through the tree root, barely shaken and charges after him. 'I have to find more obstacles', it's body is large and with the only tight space they're in, his only hope is for it to smash into as many things as possible until he finds enough time to escape.

'There!' A hole on the side of the ravine, small enough for him to crawl into. This cave entrance was only noticeable after he crosses through some thick shrubbery otherwise he'd never see it.

Seeing a shadow growing at his feet he throws his body at the entrance head first. A Pang of pain runs up his spine as the felines paw leaves three imprints on his back.

Feeling as though it's foe was just in its grasp the feline stalks the entrance, knowing it can't rip open the cave rock. For now, Kohl is safe, he reaches a hand down his back only to retract it quickly in pain. 'This sure hurts but it won't slow me down much' Saiyans have naturally fast healing and sufficient strength, their wills also more than makes up for the discomfort.

As he planks up he notices a dim light in the darkness that is in from of him. A blinding flurry of lights draw his attention

At first, he thought it was right in front of him, but the small cave led to something much deeper than he imagined.

The lights seems to go through a small hole on the cave wall, kohl proceeds to step up and peer through that window.

A 5 by 5 meter room appears through the window, with that same light shimmering on the center of the back wall.

Around the light, is a sturdy-looking metal wall with a small opening that seemed to be a vent. Without the hope of leaving from the other exit, Kohl squeezes through and onto a hard metal floor.

The light, now meters away, was coming from a small chip inside a glass case. Above the chip was a small rectangular glass screen.

Actually, as Kohl places his eyes closer to it, he can almost see something deep inside it.

Beep. A mechanical sound goes off as light blinds Kohl who had his eyes pressed on the screen.

[Scanning the hosts' brain. Suitable intelligence found. Beginning integration] a mechanical voice sounded, seemingly right beside Kohl but as he is about to look around he feels a jolt of pain. As he slowly loses consciousness.

Kohl jumps up, he remembers something speaking to him before he lost consciousness, eyes scanning all around him, he finds no one in the small metal room.

'Was I just imagining things?' Kohl rubs the back of his head. 'Well no use in worrying about it now, perhaps I passed out from blood loss?', thinking back to the claw marks on his back.

He ponders back on the feline who was just outside the small cave. He takes one last look around the room, and finds nothing but cold metal walls .' Well, it doesn't hurt to check' he makes his way back out to the cave entrance.

[Warning! A creature has you in its sight] "Who said that?" The voice sounded like his space pod, but he was kilometers away from it.

While thinking of his space pod he recalls the few commands it would reply to. 'Well, it wouldn't hurt to try'. "Um.. space p.. or robot voice thing, scan the battle power of the creature outside".

[Beep! the closest battle power is 207].

'Now I can't be imagining things'

"Well, what are you? are you the voice from the pod?" [I am an inheritance chip, created by a top level figure who understood certain laws pertaining to technology, who then condensed a portion of his will to serve as an inheritance to future descendants]

''

[Host needs to eliminate the threat outside] 'How am I going to do that? If you were so great, you would know that I'm barely half as strong as it' [Inheritance chip recommends host allow a full-body scan] 'Uhm, go ahead I guess' [Scanning complete. Host battle power found to be 127, no ki techniques, weakness found, tail, would host like to scan for ways to get stronger?]

'Can you really make me stronger? I really want to be stronger right now!' [Scanning complete. The fastest way found Host is recommended to activate dormant ki] 'Dormant ki? well, how?' [Permission for inheritance chip to activate ki?] 'Yes!'

Kohl suddenly feels trickle flowing from a deep reservoir of power within him. The power slowly fills out his body, and he feels himself subconsciously focusing his power. 'Wow, it's like I've been doing this my whole life!'. The power to freely control his key felt completely natural to him, this Chips capabilities are no joke.

As he is reveling in his newfound power a hologram of himself appears in front of, it slowly raises its palm and shoots out ki from its fingers. Kohl mirror's the hologram of himself and guides the ki in the same fashion. After a few minutes of practice, his body feels like its been through a rigorous workout. 'Inheritance chip, can you tell me how strong I am?' [Host is currently at 177 battle power] 'Wow it really is real, though I still don't think Its enough for that weird cat outside, how do you fight it'. [Would host like to activate tactical aid?] 'Sure? what is it'

All of a sudden, a light blue feline appears right in front of him. A red line appears from the feline, into an arc aimed at his left shoulder. He panics, it's too fast! Then the feline pounces, directly following that red line as it passes through his left shoulder [Host should have rolled to the right, and prepared a ki blast] 'oh so that wasn't real? ok! I'm up for the challenge'. Kohl continues to follow the chips routine and find's himself fighting against the feline hologram multiple times.

Putting his full trust in the computerized voice, Kohl crawls out of the cave. Immediately the feline who was in the bushes starts its assault. It springs up, splitting the bush, with its paws forward, commencing its pounce. [Host is recommended to sidestep and kick away] Faint red lines form from the feline's paws and from it Kohl can see the direction of its attack. The feline's claws swipe air and slam into the cave entrance. [Host should fire a blast 2 inches under the felines shoulder] A faint line is traced out in the air towards that spot. Kohl reacts as practiced and quickly brings down his ki to his fingers. With them perfectly aligned with the line, he fires.

An inch thick, light purple, the blast can be seen sent towards the feline. The feline's body shakes, and stiffly tumbles over, dead. 'This is amazing, the chip was right I am was ready to take on the beast' to Kohl, it feels as if he's fought hundreds of wild beasts -- in contrast to this being his first-ever tough battle. All that is left is for him to make his way back to his space pod to cook up this feline into a tasty meal!

...…

After dragging the feline back and turning it into a meal that lasted seven days, Kohl finally felt the energy to explore. From where the pod landed, he had two options, either go down the direction where he found the cave, or venture into the opposite direction where trees where much more densely packed.

After some quick thought, the original direction seemed much better, with some visibility and less dense vegetation. Packing some provisions, Kohl quickly set off.

Arriving close to the cave entrance Kohl remembered the feeling of waking up on the cold cave floor. Reaching up to touch his head, he called out once more to the A.I. Chip.

'A.I. Chip,
