Synopsis
Fate is weird that binds everyone, everything together. It comes in many names, destiny, the devine will, and even luck. Colton Jacobs doesn't think fate is pretty kind to him. He's the outcast in his school, the geeky weirdo who is invisible to everyone. And some days he prefers like this, and sometimes, he doesn't. So like any desperate person in need for popularity and friends, he takes on the challenge. In the peaceful yet strange town of Baskerville Heights, there is a legend of the Bentley Massacre. All Colton needed to go in to the Bentley Manor, find a portrait, write his name, and get the hell out of there. But it's change of plans when there's something in there. Something is trapped in there, the company he will have to face. So it is up to Colton to decide if he'd actually risk his life to be known. Just to be seen. Just to have friends. Or to do the total opposite of that. It is his choice after all. This is how fate binds us. *********************** Amateur-ish standing alone novel.

Chapter 1 - The Madness of Him

This was a mistake.

This was the last thing Colton Jacobs would even think of doing. He knew he was smarter than this. He should be smarter than this.

After surviving sixteen years if life, he's choosing to do probably insane, absurd, stupid (or any other synonym of those words) thing he ever did. Or will do.

If he survived that is.

There he stood with the gang before the Bentley Manor or what people called it, The Butcher's Manor. Whoever came up with this name sure made his parents proud. They say the legend is as old as the peaceful town of Baskerville Heights. No one has lived here without knowing the legend of the Bentley Massacre.

There are many versions of the legend. Including Colton's version, which is pretty much just the short version.

The manor was owned by lord or duke by the name of Bentley. He was known to be a psychotic, delusional, in short, crazy. He had always been eccentric, never wanting anyone to touch him, did everything in a weird way.

And he would have these random fits as if someone or something is attacking him. Then he'd get the nearest weapon, and swing at anything that moves. Heck, even one that breathes. Everyone would race to get out from this hellish Manor.

If lucky enough to not get killed by him as they'd try to escaped.

But then fits suddenly... stopped. He'd go on for days not having a single fit, delusion. Maybe even pass off as any other normal person. Then rumors spread about how he sell his soul to a demon—to make the hallucination go away for a moment —or this demon might even be the cause of his hallucinations from the very first place.

So Bentley hosted his grand ball and invited everyone to come. Too bad, it was already too late to figure out that this ball is a trap. This is Bentley's worst sudden madness he had in his entire life. As usual, he could grab the nearest sword to behead everyone. Swing uncontrollably. Left and right...

People tried to run, but the doors were bolted shut. He took out everyone—One by one. Victim after victim.

Soon the walls have tainted red; the floor was covered with dead, Will be rotten later. And there's Bentley, covered with blood; have taken his own life to end the nightmare.
