'Thank God' I muttered in my mind as the last bell rang for the last class of the day ended.
After lunch, or "after what happened at lunch" I went straight to the class I had next with some few directions. After that class I went to the two other classes I had left, and right now I couldn't be more happier.
Everyone was packing up their things to go home. So I stood up, picked my bag from the floor and went out of the class.
Walking into the corridor to my locker, I saw some people standing beside their lockers and talking to their friends, some were laughing while going out of the school door. But most importantly, I saw Melinda.
She was standing with a four group of girls who looked like runway models with their long legs and tanned skin. They were laughing out loud and giving fake smiles to each other.
But it looked like she wasn't really paying attention to what they were saying cause she was looking straight at me with a blank face.
I knew after what I said to her at lunch, I wasn't expecting her to be all over me. So I was surprised that she was even looking at me. But it wasn't for long cause she removed her eyes from me and told the other girls something I couldn't hear cause I was far away from where they were standing.
She said it with a blank face and the other girls turned to face me with a look that said 'so you're the one' and 'better watch your back'. Then they all walked away.
I didn't know what she'd told them about me, but I figured it wouldn't be more than what happened at lunch, so it didn't really bother me.
After standing in front of my locker for so long observing Melinda and Co, the hallway was quickly getting empty. So I opened my locker and dropped some books and took all the assignment from various classes so I could do them at home. I closed my locker and went to the front door.
Getting to the parking lot, my driver was already parked and waiting for me in front of the car. He looks to be in his mid 40's and had a shaggy brown hair and dark eyes. He looked fit for his age and he always had a small smile on his face.
"Good afternoon ms Alex" he greeted as I reached the car. "Afternoon mr Ramon, and remember its just Alex" I said and got into the car.
"Okay ma" he said getting into the car and starting it up.
"Wheres my mother" I asked him while he was driving. "She's still at work, she said I should tell you that she had an impromptu meeting, that's why she couldn't come and get you herself".
I only nodded to him, cause I know saying anything wouldn't matter. Cause I knew it would always be 'Work over Me'.
So I just kept quiet and tried to listen to the sound of the car while he took me home.
