Chapter 59 - The devilish saint

The war was won, a nation established and the civilians went back to their normal routine.

But some things changed drastically all citizens evolved to lesser demons and even the wildlife and environment started to change.

Animals obtained horns or other demonic features and some plants started growing metal parts that resemble gears and cogs, also the sky took on a reddish hue.

But the biggest change was a massive castle that grew out of the earth, consisting of giant gears and black partly metal-plated stones.

A stone bridge that was spanning over a chasm led to a wrought iron gate.

But the gate couldn't be opened as it was locked, the needed key could only be obtained by venturing into the dungeon and clear all floors.

Another big change was the influx of players that were tempted by the demon race and new quest lines that followed with the new features.

Even some rankers couldn't resist and were pleasantly surprised by the stat bonus they were getting and the possibility to evolve their race from lesser demons to archdemons with potential secret variants.

They silently sent their thanks to the demon lord which they didn't say out loud as they would have been beaten up by other people for praising this torturing maniac that created all these murder machines.

But after closing their stat windows they were startled by their spawn point, a giant metal building that looked like a temple but the statues representing a God were missing only five empty pedestals were standing at the end of the hall.

The players saw how small robots were collecting offerings brought by NPCs to the middle pedestal.

The offerings were mostly money or metal and under the eyes of NPCs and the robots, the players reacted by also leaving some money behind not to offend the populace.

Suddenly a system announcement rocked through the server:

"The Saint was acknowledged in the nation of Bronzehell, as the rulers unites the power of light and dark the race Nephilim with the variants half-human, half-angel, and half-angel, half-demon is unlocked."

Once again many players wanted to use the new races but they were awfully limited to only a handful players.

But more players couldn't sleep that night when they realized that the Saint was the demon lord himself. They asked themselves how this torturer, this land plague could ascend to sainthood...
