John woke up the next day and thought about what happened in the game. He couldn't stop thinking about how he and his brother would've played the game together, so even though he gets mocked for his poor crafting skills, he still plays it because it makes him feel connected to his brother.
John stood up and made himself breakfast, and went to the supermarket for his part-time shift.
He thought about the things he should craft for the other tutorials. So, after his shift, he got home and went into the capsule and logged in the game.
"Tch...you're back."
John was dumbstruck on how an AI can lose its respect for him.
But John quickly got over it, since he was used to disappointing people, even his own family.
John completed the woodworking, alchemy, and leathercrafting tutorial. But it feels like a slap to his face whenever he reads the item descriptions.
Ruined Walking Stick
Rank: Trash
A walking stick made out of wood. If you use it you either die from the splinters or you break all your bones because the disgraceful craftsmanship made it so fragile, it's a wonder that it doesn't break under its own weight.
Health Potion (?)
Rank: Trash
It takes either a poison master or a complete Moron to be able to create a deadly poison out of the ingredients of a health potion.
Pile of Leather Scraps
Rank: Trash
Some leather scraps that was previously a small pouch. But because of the bad craftsmanship, the pouch fell apart and is now a complete waste of time and resources. It's so bad that the dead hunter that hunted the beast to get the leather is now cursed to walk on earth as an undead.
Every time John finished an item, he can hear a hurtful "tch" behind his back, and a pop-up notification that says, "Your item is already at trash grade and can't be downgraded anymore!"
John sighed. Only blacksmithing left. He just needs to forge a weapon, and then he can leave.
He thought about what he should craft, and chose a club as an easy and effective weapon. He took a piece of iron and threw it in the forge and heated it up. When the iron is hot enough he took it to the anvil and started hammering. After some time of hammering, he got a pretty good form, so he took the piece and threw it in the cold water to quench it. Then John took some leather strips and made a primitive binding on the handle.
He looked at his work and was quite pleased. It did have some cracks and looks a bit ugly, but it should do its work.
"Notification:"
"Your normal item Cracked Club was downgraded to trash."
Cracked Club
Rank: Trash
Durability: 30/30
Can't be repaired
An iron club with enough weight to bash some skulls in. But because of some forging errors it became overly brittle and cracked, but the resulting edges gave it a devastating damage potential. A workpiece of a disgraceful crafter.
Attack +10
For every -2 Durability +1 Attack
John cheered. He didn't even get the "tch" sound from EVA this time.
He had finally finished all the tutorials.
